Jer 17:17- Blessed is the Man Who Trusts in the Lord

Hi Friends!!

Today I am sharing a card with a Mixed Media background that I created using a Gelli Arts™ Gel Printing Plate along with acrylic paints, metallic inks, the Tim Holtz® Sizzix™ Compass Embossing Folder and Verve Stamps, Scripture Medley 4.

I had a great time designing the background (and several others ) using the Gelli Arts™ Gel Printing Plate and felt that this card would be perfect for my nephew, Nicholas (he was baptized ny immersion last weekend) :-)).

The printing process can be a bit messy, but most of the time, you are experimenting and in the end, you will have many wonderful backgrounds for future projects (plus it is a lot of fun)!!

If you have not had an opportunity to visit the above challenge sites, I hope you will find the time to do so- absolutely gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). With the Big Shot™ emboss a piece of thick cardstock with the Tim Holtz® Compass Embossing Folder.

2). Apply a few drops of white acrylic paint along with blue and black onto a Gelli Arts™ Gel Printing Plate, use a brayer to spread the paint and place the embossed panel created in the step above (with the raised part of the embossing down) into the ink.  Lift up the panel and press another piece of watercolor paper onto the plate for the ghost print.

3). Continue to print off a few sheets using the same technique as above (FYI- the background panel for this card was the actual original embossed watercolor panel that was used for the “texture” on the Gelli Arts™ Printing Plate. Allow the panels to completely dry.

4). Re-insert the printed panel into the compass embossing folder and re-emboss the panel.  Using Encore™ Metallic Silver Pigment Ink, spread gently over the embossing with the pad face down on the panel.

5). Ink the sentiment from the Scripture Medley 4 stamp set (Verve Stamps) with Versafine ™ Onyx Black Ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with the heat tool.

6). Die cut the sentiment with a stitched rectangle die and mount onto midnight blue cardstock, trimming close to the edge.

7). Trim the gelli printed panel, apply to midnight cardstock, trim again and mount onto a white card front.

8). Add the sentiment with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Scripture Medley 4  (Verve Stamps)

Ink: Versafine™ Onxy Black, Acrylic Paint- Titanium White, Midnight Blue, Black; Encore™ Metallic Silver

Paper: Whisper White, retired Midnight Blue; Watercolor

Accessories: Big Shot™, Tim Holtz® Compass Embossing Folder (Sizzix™); Gelli Arts™ Printing Plate, Brayer, MFT Stitched Rectangle STAX Dies

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope I have inspired you to create something this week! Hugs and God Bless!
