Hi Stampers!
It’s time for the new SUO129 “Cards without Words” Challenge-create a card without a sentiment on the front that could be used for a note...
I decided to pull out two of my favorite new sets, Awesomely Artistic and Butterfly
Basics along with the CCMC368 Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge.
I hope you will have a chance to check out my sister Design
Team member samples- we are welcoming Cindee Wilkinson to the SUO Challenges team
this week- woohoo!!
Also, I hope you will find time
to visit the Create with Connie and Mary site- they always have fabulous
inspiration as well!
This card was fairly simple to create:
Ink the fern image from Butterfly Basics using Cucumber Crush
Classic Ink and stamp repeatedly onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
Ink the splatter image from Awesomely Artistic using Tangerine
Tango Classic Ink and add a bit of splatter around the panel.
Ink the dragonfly image using Pacific Point Classic Ink and
stamp one image onto the main panel and three images onto another piece of
Whisper White cardstock.
“Fussy-cut” two of the dragonflies completely and add to the
card panel.
“Fussy-cut” just the wings of the third dragonfly and add to
the stamped dragonfly on the panel, apply Two-Way Glue to the wings of all
three dragonflies and Dazzling Diamond
glitter.
Stamp the border image from Awesomely Artistic using Pacific
Point Classic Ink onto Whisper White
cardstock, trim and mount onto Pacific Point cardstock and add a scrap strip of
Tangerine Tango cardstock to the center.
Trim the entire panel
and mount onto Pacific Point cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White
card base.
Use a Sponge Dauber to apply a bit of Cucumber Crush Classic
Ink around the ferns.
Create a bow using the Bow Builder Punch from Tangerine Tango
cardstock, adhere to the card front and add the Antique Brad to the center to
finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: Awesomely Artistic, Butterfly Basics

So creative to do the dragonflies in Pacific Point, and it totally works! Great job balancing these really bright colors. Your card is beautiful! Thank you for joining us at Create with Connie and Mary!
A work of art as always! The sponging around the ferns give them a woodsy look for lack of a better word. I also think the trio of dragonflies is beautiful - so sparkly and vibrant. Thanks for playing along with us this week at Create with Connie and Mary.
Oh, those beautiful blue dragonflies among the ferns give such a calm and cool-looking feel to your scene. I like how the light tangerine sprinkles add depth to the card also! So lovely! Thanks for joining us this week for the challenge at Create with Connie and Mary!
This card is bright and beautiful! A perfect tribute to the end of summer! Thanks for playing along this week at Create with Connie and Mary!
Really pretty! Looks so tropical...vibrant green offset with the blue dragonfly! Thanks for playing the Create with Connie and Mary challenge this week!
Your card is SO gorgeous! I love the intense colors...like in the jungle! Love the bow element, too! Thanks for playing along with the color challenge this week on Create with Connie and Mary (and of course, the SUO Challenge, too!)
What a great card - these colours look cool yet vibrant the way you've used them on your card Julie and this is a great example of a card where a sentiment is not always necessary. Thanks for joining us over at Create With Connie and Mary this week!
What a fabulous card Julie! I love how that orange bow, just pops on there! As always your composition is 'spot on'! Thanks for playing along this week in the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!
Oooh, aaah! Those dragonflies are so pretty in Pacific Point! They look wonderful against the fern background and the bow with the antique brad is the icing on the cake! Thanks for playing with us at Create with Connie and Mary!
This is such a wonderful card, I just knew it was a winner. Congratulations!
