O Christmas Tree- A Trio of Trees

Hi Friends!

Merry Christmas week! Today I am sharing a quick Christmas card using the O Christmas Tree Bundle along with the Lumber 3D Embossing Folder, Fishtail Sentiment Banners Dies, Craft Consortium Organic Ink Drops paper and Deep Yellow Rhinestones (all from Stamp Simply)!

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be linking this card to  the As You Like It “Anything Christmassy” Challenge, Simon Says Wednesday “Use Dies in December” Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #679-#680 “5th Annual Blog Hop and Anything Goes” Challenge.

I like this tree stamp set and decided to ink up the modern tree for my quick CAS card.

If you have not had a chance to stop by the Stamp Simply blog or the other challenge sites yet , I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Emboss a piece of white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Lumber Embossing Folder.  Trim to approx. 4“x5¼” and mount onto a piece of dark green cardstock.

Mount the background panel onto a white card base.

De-static a piece of white cardstock and a piece of the Organic Ink Drops paper with an embossing powder tool (this paper is perfect for backgrounds and it is hard to see the gold veins on the die cut trees, but it is very versatile for Christmas cards as well).

Using Versamark ink, stamp the tree image from O Christmas Tree Bundle onto the prepared panels (one on the white cardstock and two onto the designer paper), apply gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the trees with the coordinating die (cutting a second tree image from white cardstock to layer behind the white embossed tree).

De-static another piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the Merry Christmas sentiment from O Christmas Tree with Versamark ink, apply gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the sentiment with the Fishtail Sentiment Banners die (die cutting a second banner from white cardstock, layering the plain die cut behind the embossed sentiment).

Adhere the two embossed green trees directly to the card front.

Add the white embossed tree and die cut sentiment to the card front with dimensional foam.

To finish off the card, add a deep yellow/gold rhinestone to the top of each tree.

TCC212 Wonderful Counselor

Hi Friends!

I am a bit late posting my card for the new #212 {Christmas Wreath} Challenge at The Card Concept!  I do not know about you, but November and December have flown by for me.  I cannot believe that Christmas is only twelve days away. I have not even mailed my Christmas cards yet, yikes! They will be late this year….

I was inspired by the gorgeous wreath and colors in our inspiration photo for my Mixed Media card.  I decided to pull out the Poinsettia stamp set (Power Poppy by Marcella Hawley).

I have not inked up this stamp set in years and paired it with the Jesus stamp set (from Stamp Simply)-  both sets are still available for purchase.

I am also participating with the Double Trouble #181 “It’s Up To You” Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #677-#678 “anything Goes” Challenge.

I hope you will take a moment to visit our challenge blog to see how the rest of The Card Concept Design Team were inspired as well as check out the other challenge galleries to see their fabulous creations!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the poinsettia image from Poinsettia with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto the prepared paper, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor the image with distress inks and water-based markers.  After coloring, fussy cut the image.

De-static the lower area of a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of white cardstock, ink the verse sentiment from the stamp set, Jesus with Versafine Black Onyx ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Adhere the panel to a piece of burgundy cardstock, trim to approx. 4 ⅛” x 5 ⅜”.

Adhere a strip of white crochet lace and add the burgundy satin ribbon over the lace (wrapping the ends behind the panel).

Add a few pearls to the upper right-hand corner to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Poinsettia (Power Poppy by Marcella Hawley), Jesus (Stamp Simply)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress Inks- Evergreen Forest; Stampin’ Write Markers- Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Razzelberry Ripple
