Hi Friends!
Welcome to The Card Concept #148 {Sweetheart Sweets} Challenge!
Isn’t this a scrumptious looking
plate of cupcakes?
I was inspired by the beautiful pinks
and browns to create a Shabby and Vintage Mixed Media card using some of my
older stamp sets (which as many of you know, is one of my personal goals).
I decided to try to create a card that did not require any dies (sort of a "back to basic" style card) :-)
Many of you know that I love to participate with online challenges and am participating with the Word Art Wednesday #477-478 “Anything Goes” Challenge (one of my favorite challenge sites:-).
Again, if you have not had a chance to visit The Card Concept or the Word Art Wednesday challenge
site yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!
To create this card:
On a silicone or
glass mat, “smoosh” ink from Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide
ink pads onto the surface, lightly spritz with water and press a piece of white
cardstock into the ink.
Lift the cardstock panel up from the ink (tilting
to allow the ink to spread across the panel) and repeat until you are satisfied
with the background.
Ink a large and small
splatter stamp with Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide ink, stamp onto the
panel.
Use a heat tool to
dry the panel.
Ink the scroll image and
the script image with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink, stamp repeatedly onto
the background panel.
De-static the lower
edge with an embossing powder tool, stamp the Scripture sentiment with Versafine™
Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat
tool.
Trim the panel to
approx. 3.75” x 5” and tear the upper right-hand and lower left-hand edges by
hand. Use a distress tool to distress
all the sides of the panel.
Adhere to a piece of white cardstock, trim to approx. 4” x 5 ¼” and mount onto a piece of 4 ¼” x 5 ½” espresso cardstock. Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.
De-static a scrap piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the butterflies and heat emboss with clear embossing powder (using the same steps as above for the Scripture).
Use a coordinating
punch to punch out the butterflies (or fussy cut).
Mount onto the card
front and add a few rhinestones to finish off the card.
Stamp

Potpourri, Timeless Textures (all retired Stampin’ Up!), Scripture Collection 3 (Divinity Designs LLC)

Julie, this is so pretty - love the pink!
Oh my heart, Julie...this is SO beautiful. I love the cascading flow of pink and those gorgeous butterflies. How pretty. Thanks SO MUCH for sharing this beauty with us at Word Art Wednesday. It always means SO much to me, and is always a delight to my heart when I see your lovely art. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
I did play along at The Card Concept this time. I haven't received any comments from the DT, so I'm always left wondering if I "played along correctly". Nonetheless, I had a load of fun making my card....that's what matters. Right? Thanks again for sharing your talents with us, and have a wonderfully blessed week.

I love how the beautiful butterflies and the pink work so well with a scripture reminding us to take heart!
Such a beautiful card! It blesses me to see scripture on your cards! I hope this goes in a frame! Thank you for entering in the Word Art Wednesday Challenge. Ginny M, DT
