He Has Risen!

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another fairly quick Resurrection card using stamps, dies, paper and pearls all from Stamp Simply.

As I mentioned before, I love all of the verses in the He Has Risen stamp set!  The fonts are gorgeous and the verses are perfect for Easter as well as throughout the year.

I decided to pair the He Has Risen stamp set with the Crosses Die and created the rolled flowers from the Craft Consortium Rose Ink Drops 6x6 paper.

To create this card:

Emboss a piece of 4 ¼” x 5 ½” white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Embossing Lumber Folder and trim to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.

Adhere the embossed lumber panel to a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” tent fold white card base.

De-static another piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment from He Has Risen with Versamark ink, apply gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the embossed sentiment with the Farmhouse Sentiment Banners Dies (I also die cut another banner the same size from white cardstock to layer behind the embossed sentiment).

Mount the sentiment to the upper portion of the card front with dimensional foam.

Die cut the scroll from the Cinch and Go Flowers Dies from white cardstock and layer onto the card front.

Die cut the cross from gold mirror cardstock (FYI- I layered the gold cross onto two additional crosses die cut from white cardstock).

Adhere the cross to the card front with dimensional foam.

Die cut the leaves using the sprigs dies from the Floral Cluster and Sprigs Die from green cardstock and layer onto the card front.

Create three paper flowers from scrap pieces of the Rose Ink Drops paper using the Cinch and Go Flowers dies

Carefully “scrunch” up the die cut flower layers before adhering them together to create the flowers.

Adhere the flowers to the card front around the cross.

Add a pearl to the center of each flower.

The Card Concept #192 Happy Easter

Hi Friends!

Welcome to our #192 {Happy Easter} at The Card Concept

The Card Concept is a bi-weekly challenge and we would love for you to create a card based on our inspiration photo and join us!

This is a fabulous fireplace and I love how they decorated it for Easter.  I was inspired by the neutral colors, the cross on the mantle and the overall theme of Easter for my Clean and Layered card.

As many of you who follow my blog also know, I enjoy participating with other online challenges (I know how much work goes into maintaining a challenge blog and want to give support).  I will be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #589-#590 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not already visited us at The Card Concept, I hope you will find the time to do so.  Gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the DT as well as the Word Art Wednesday challenge site.

This card was fairly quick and easy to create.  The verse sentiment from the Easter stamp set (Stamp Simply)  was heat embossed on vellum, die cut and then layered onto a piece of the floral patterned paper from the Gather at Home designer paper (Carta Bella).

The cross from the Easter is for Jesus stamp set was heat embossed onto a piece of designer paper from the Craft Consortium Wood Textures 6x6 paper pad (all from Stamp Simply) before die cutting with the coordinating die.

The photo corner and side pieces of green plaid designer paper were hand cut from another pattern in the Gather at Home paper pad.

A piece of white crochet lace and pearls were added to finish off the card.

Rejoice in the Lord

Hi Friends!

This week the Design Team at Stamp Simply are sharing cards for Easter and/or Spring.  Such wonderful inspiration from the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will have time to visit and check them out!

Even though the temps are in the 30’s and 40’s here on the East Coast, I am looking forward to spring with the pretty flowers and blooming trees and decided to create an Easter card.

I pulled out a the Floral Cluster Summer Roses stamp set for the floral image and paired it with a verse sentiment from the He Has Risen stamp set.

I also used two separate paper pads, Craft Consortium Ink Drops- Rosev and Carta Bella My Valentine (both 6x6 paper).  Lastly, I added a bit of lace and ribbon as well as a few dies- all from Stamp Simply!

The floral image and the verse sentiment were heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The floral image was colored with water-based markers before die-cutting with the coordinating die and the sentiment was die-cut with an oval die.

The top half of the background is a piece of light rose designer paper from the Craft Consortium Ink Drops- Rose 6x6 paper pad. Unfortunately I had to cover up this gorgeous paper- look at all those fabulous ink drop backgrounds!  So pretty that you do not even need to add an image!

The lower half of the background is a floral pattern from the new
Carta Bella My Valentine 6x6 Paper Pad.  This paper pad has so many different pretty designs that can be used for cards all year round (many for Valentine’s Day but not necessarily for just Valentine’s Day).

I love the elegance of the Gabriella lace and topped the lace off with a  piece of chevron grosgrain ribbon from the Coffee & Tea Ribbon Sampler.

I also love that the verses from the He Has Risen stamp set can be displayed year round as well as at Easter.

It is hard to see the shimmer on the floral image from the clear glitter marker and I finished off the card with a few pearls.

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy participating with online challenges and was inspired by the Tic-Tac-Toe #194 Featured Designer Joanne Challenge  (diagonal from far left Ribbon/Bow- Flowers- Designer Paper) for this card.

I am also linking to the Krafty Chicks Challenge #648 All Occasions Challenge (Easter) and the Word Art Wednesday #579-#580 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out the Stamp Simply blog yet,or the other challenge sites,  I hope you will take the time to visit.  Wonderful inspiration all!
