Nature Silhouettes

Hi Friends!

I am sharing another quick card designed using Distress Oxide inks for the background and heat embossed silhouettes from Creative Worship Stamps (formerly Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps).

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and wanted to play along with The Color Throwdown #829 Challenge as well as the Shopping Our Stash #543 “Think Ink”Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #691-692 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

All three stamp sets used are several years old and have not been inked in a while.  The Shopping Our Stash Challenge is one that encourages you to use your stash, perfect for my own personal challenge to use what I have.

If you have not had a chance to check out the galleries at the challenge sites yet, I would encourage you to do so- beautiful inspiration from each of the Design Teams as well as the galleries!

To create this card:

Press Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink onto a silicone mat, spritz with water and press a piece of white cardstock into the ink.

Use a heat tool to dry the ink and repeat the process with Broken China and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink, continuing to layer the ink.

Thoroughly dry the ink and use and embossing powder tool to de-static the panel.

Ink the Nature Silhouettes 1 and 2 stamp images with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto the prepared background, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing powder has dried, die cut the background panel with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto a piece of black cardstock and trim close to the edge.

Die cut a piece of white cardstock with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock and adhere to a white card base.

Ink the script image from Texture Tiles 1 with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink, repeatedly stamp over the white and background panel.

Add white highlights with an extra fine white paint pen to finish off the card.

Refuge in Him

Hi Friends!

This card was designed using the Creative Worship Clear Stamp Sets, Faith Quote Blocks (NinaB Designs) and His Wings (Korin Sutherland) from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.  I love the images in both of these sets- perfect for cards, Bible Art Journaling, home décor as well as scrapbooking and other crafts.

I used the layout from the Freshly Made Sketches #303 Sketch Challenge for the design along with the Curtain Call 09/01 “Dreamcatcher” Inspiration  Challenge for the colors and theme.  I am also linking to the Word Art Wednesday #298-#299 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). For the background- tap Tim Holtz® Worn Lipstick and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink onto a silicone mat, lightly spritz with water, press a piece of vanilla cardstock into the ink, lift up and dry the ink with a heat tool.

2). Once the panel has thoroughly dried, ink the Faith Quote Blocks images with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, stamp onto the panel, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with the heat tool.  Trim the panel and mount onto gray cardstock, trim again and mount onto a white card base.

3). Ink the feather images and the bird image from His Wings with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, stamp onto vanilla cardstock, heat emboss with clear embossing powder and once the embossing has cooled, fussy-cut the feathers.  For the lighter colored feather, apply Worn Lipstick and Vintage Photo Distress Ink onto vanilla cardstock, ink the solid feather from His Wings with Versamark™ ink, heat emboss with clear embossing powder and once cooled, fussy cut the image.

4). Emboss a piece of woodgrain designer paper with a woodgrain folder, apply diluted white acrylic paint over the embossing with a paint brush, trim and mount onto black cardstock.

5). Add strips of polished hemp twine, layer the fussy-cut feathers, add the twine bow and antique brad.  Mount the woodgrain panel onto the card front and mount the bird with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Faith Quote Blocks, His Wings (Creative Worship from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Tim Holtz® Distress Oxide Ink- Worn Lipstick, Hickory Smoke, Vintage Photo

Paper/Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, retired Well Worn designer paper

The Good News- Jesus Paid It All

Hi Friends!

The Good News
I hope all of you had a great weekend! I had a chance to design a few cards this weekend and wanted to share an Easter card that was created with the Creative Worship Clear Stamp Set, The Good News designed by Korin Sutherland and available at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.

I love this stamp set with the variety of sentiments and images- perfect for Bible Art Journaling, Scrapbooking, Home Décor as well as card making and it is perfect for Easter!  I am so thankful that in Christ, we have a Savior who "Paid In Full" and paid it all for my sins and yours- what a wonderful Savior is Jesus, My Lord!!

My prayer today would be that you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, that you have trusted in Him to forgive you of your sins and believe that He came down to earth born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for you and me and rose again on the third day!  It is that simple to know for sure that you will spend eternity with the Lord in Heaven- Acts 16:31a "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved".

If you have not had a chance to visit the SNSS Blog or FB Page, I encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from the rest of the SNSS Creative Team is posted throughout the month as well as from the Word Art Wednesday Challenge gallery!

To create this card:

1). Using a clear acetate envelope (cut off the side, top and bottom so you can open like a book), apply distress ink (I used wild honey and carved pumpkin) directly to the acetate, spritz lightly with water, close the “book” and smoosh the inks together, re-open the “book” and lay a piece of white cardstock into the ink, re-applying as needed to fill the paper.

2). Ink the sentiments from The Good News with one of the same shades of distress ink as the background and fill the paper with the sentiments.  Use a stencil brush to apply ripe persimmon distress ink over the edges and background to fill in the rest of the white areas and trim the panel.

3). Mount the background onto a piece of dark brown cardstock and set aside.

4). Trim a piece of white cardstock to approx.. 2 ¾” x 5 ¼”, stamp the “Paid In Full” sentiment from The Good News using espresso ink onto the lower part of the panel and add the background panel to the left hand side.  Trim the panels to square, mount onto dark brown cardstock, trim once more and mount onto the white card base.

5). Ink the nail cross and crown of thorns image with archival black ink, stamp onto white cardstock, fussy-cut the images and color with a taupe water based marker.  Mount the images onto the card front with dimensional foam.

6). Finish off the card with a few black sequins and add a bit of shimmer to the words on the background panel with a clear glitter pen.

Thanks again for taking to visit, I hope I have inspired you and that you will stop by again soon- hugs and have a blessed week, sweet friends!
