The Evidence Not Seen

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another quick vintage style encouragement card that will using stamps, lace and paper all from Stamp Simply.

The background was created by embossing the verse sentiment from Farmhouse Scriptural Quotes directly onto a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of designer paper from the Kaisercraft Pen & Ink 6.5 x6.5 Paper Pad.

Next, add the piece of Ivory Venise Lace, then mount the panel onto a piece of espresso cardstock.

Adhere the strip of seam binding wrapping the ends behind the panel and mount the card onto a white card base.

Add a scrap piece of the designer paper to the inside of the card to finish off the card (I used the piece that I had trimmed off when creating the background panel).

If you have not had a chance to check out the rest of my Sister Design Team cards on the Stamp Simply blog, I hope you will do so- inspiration fabulous creations from all!!

Wreath Anniversary Cards

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Stamp Simply Design Team have been sharing cards featuring wreaths.

If you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, I hope you will do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

I am not sure if you have a stash of cards but I like to keep cards on hand to mail out whenever there is a need, especially ones with Scripture on the front.

I am low on Anniversary cards, so I decided to pull out the Seasonal Wreaths- Spring/Summer Bundle, Love stamp set and pair them with the Kaisercraft Two Souls 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad along with some lace (all from Stamp Simply).

I am in the process of finishing up fourteen cards and still have more than half of the paper pack left!

Today I am sharing two of the cards that used ½ sheet of the designer paper that had two printed circles with leaves that I split in half to make two cards.

This pack of paper is on sale and has several metallic sheets along with pre-printed tags, sentiments and other elements (printed lace, etc. )

A great pack of paper to have in your stash for Anniversary, Wedding, Valentine’s Day, Friendship cards.

Both cards were fairly quick and easy-

For both cards:

De-static the piece of designer paper with an embossing powder tool, ink the wreath image from the Seasonal Wreaths-Spring/Summer stamp set with Versamark ink, stamp onto the prepared paper, apply pewter embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

De-static the center of the wreath area and ink the sentiment from the Love stamp set with Versamark, heat set with pewter embossing powder.

Repeat the same steps above on a piece of white cardstock using the spring floral image from the Seasonal Wreaths- Spring, Summer and die cut with the coordinating die.

Mount the spring floral wreath image onto the designer paper using dimensional foam.

Distress the edges of the designer paper and adhere to a piece of grey cardstock, distressing the edges of the frame as well.

To complete the first card, trim the leaf print, gray roses and green pieces of the Two Souls designer paper, distress the edges and adhere to white cardstock (approx. 4” x 5 ¼”) before adhering to the gray card base.

Add the pleated white lace (from the May Arts Vintage Sampler- On Fire with Orange & Yellow), add a grey strip of distressed designer paper to the center and mount onto the card front.

Add the wreath focal image to the card front with dimensional foam.

To complete the second card, trim a pieces from the Two Souls designer paper- the gray polka-dot paper on an angle and pair it with the silver heart designer paper, distress the edges and add to a piece of gray cardstock.

Add a piece of flat white lace (from the May Arts Vintage Sampler- Pink & White with Rosettes Bundle) and mount the focal wreath image with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and am linking my card to the Word Art Wednesday #605-#606 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

God is Our Refuge

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great summer so far! This week we are celebrating July with a special on all Kaisercraftpapers, embellishments, etc. at Stamp Simply!

Today I am sharing a floral card designed with the new Pretty Poppies Bundle along with a verse sentiment from the Fear Not stamp set , Kaisercraft Pen & Ink paper and Kaisercraft Self-Adhesive Pearls  (plus other dies/supplies from Stamp Simply)!

Most of you who follow my blog know that I love to participate with online challenges- I will be linking this card to the Tic-Tac-Toe #121 Challenge (Pink, Embossing, Lace/Doily plus Bouquet, Embossing, Glitter), the Watercooler Wednesday Helen’s Challenge #319 “All Things Feminine” Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #499-#500 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Stamp Simply blog or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

From the Kaisercraft Pen & Ink 6x6 paper pad, trim a piece of the script design as well as the lace design from to approx. 4” x 2 ¾”.

Distress the outside edges of each piece of designer paper and mount onto a piece of dark brown cardstock (overlapping a bit in the middle).

Use a stencil brush to apply antique linen distress ink (to “age” the paper).

To cover the raw edges of the designer paper in the center of the panel, add a strip of 3/8” Natural Crochet Lace (approx. ½” below the top of the raw edge).

Cover the top of the lace with a piece of May Arts ⅝” Sage Twill, wrapping and adhering the twill ribbon behind the panel.

Mount the background panel onto a white card base.

Ink the poppy floral image from Pretty Poppies with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, stamp onto white cardstock and heat set the ink with a heat tool.

Watercolor the image with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating Pretty Poppies Die (FYI- I also die cut two additional poppies from white cardstock to layer behind the watercolor image).

De-static another piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the verse sentiment from
Fear Not with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing for the sentiment has cooled, die cut with the Spellbinders Amazing Grace- Hemstitch Ovals Dies (I used the frame only of the second largest oval).

Die cut two additional ovals from white cardstock and adhere behind the sentiment oval.

Use a stencil brush to apply antique linen distress ink (to “age” the paper) and mount the sentiment oval to the card front with dimensional foam and/or chipboard.

Adhere the floral image to the card front with dimensional foam (and/or chipboard).

Use a clear glitter marker to add shimmer to the flower petals and a white paint pen to add a few highlights to the flower centers.

Finish off the card by adding Kaisercraft Self-Adhesive Pearls to the edge of the sentiment oval as well as the upper left and lower right-hand corners of the background.

My Grace is Sufficient

Hi Friends!

I designed this card using a stamp set that I purchased on clearance over a year ago- Everlasting (Kaisercraft) and this is the first time I have had a chance to ink it up.  I decided to pair the birds with a sentiment from another stamp set that has been un-inked lately- The Vine (Unity Stamp Co).

I am making a dedicated effort to try to use stamps and paper that I already own (although I do still purchase a few)- I find it so difficult to resist those 40-50% off or more sales- don't you?

I am also challenging myself to work my way through all of the Splitcoaststampers’ Sketch Challenges (now at 800) that I have not used yet so I incorporated the SC160 Sketch layout into the design of this card.  This sketch was from 2009 (the SCS challenges do not expire) and I thought it would be a good layout for the branch image.

I enjoy participating with online challenges as well and will be linking this card to the Simon Says Monday “Spritz and Splatter” Challenge along with the A Bit More Time to Craft #115  “Anything Goes” Challenge.

Since the Simon Says Monday Challenge was "Spritz and Splatter", I decided to create a Shabby Chic/Vintage Mixed Media card.

To create this card:

Apply distress ink to the inside of a woodgrain embossing folder, insert a piece of white cardstock and emboss the panel.  Spritz the panel to allow the ink to spread a bit and also use a water brush to apply additional brown distress ink as needed (see all of the colors used below).

Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of black cardstock. Adhere the background panel to a white card base.

Ink the background stamp (Chalkboard Vine) with the same brown distress ink (, lightly stamp over the designer paper before cutting the paper into three panels.  Mount onto black cardstock and add directly to the card front.

Ink the birds on the branch image (from Everlasting) with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock,  apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the image has cooled, water color with brown distress ink along with brown and gray water-based markers.

Apply the distress ink directly around the edges of the image and stamp with a texture splatter stamp to achieve additional distressing and “antiquing”.  Die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die and mount onto black cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment from The Vine (Unity Stamp Co) with embossing ink (I used the Versafine™ Onyx Black since my Versamark™ was not nearby), apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Trim the sentiment (I used a scrap piece of black paper and it was not trimmed evenly so I had to cut into the area where the “M” would be cut-off, therefore, I fussy-cut around the “M”).  Mount the sentiment onto the bird panel.

Adhere the bird panel to the card front using chipboard or dimensional foam (I prefer chipboard for extra stability, plus I have a lot of chipboard on hand, lol!).

To finish the card, use an extra fine white paint pen to add a highlight to each bird’s eye.

Stamp Sets: Everlasting (Kaisercraft), The Vine (Unity Stamp Co), Chalkboard Vine (Divinity Designs, LLC), Timeless Textures (Stampin’ Up!)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers-Gray Granite, Soft Suede; Tim Holtz™ Brushed Corduroy Distress;   Extra Fine White Paint Pen

Cardstock/Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Prima Lifetime Collection Designer Paper

Accessories: Gemini, Jr™, My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle A2 STAX Set 1 Dies, retired Stampin’ Up! Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Embossing Buddy®, Clear and White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, AquaPainter™
