TCC134 Love the Lord Your God

Hi Friends!

I have another card that I created for The Card Concept #134 {Mother’s Day} Challenge!

I was so inspired by the bouquet of flowers that I wanted to create a Clean and Simple card using an Altenew stamp set, Just Believe along with a sentiment from the Scripture Collection 9 from Divinity Designs LLC.

FYI- I have not had a chance to ink up this verse sentiment from the Scripture Collection 9 set in at least a few years and this is one of the cards that I created with the Altenew Just Believe set (which was a fairly recent purchase -six months ago or so.  The wonky rectangle die from My Favorite Things was also a recent purchase.

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool.  Ink the flower image  and sentiment with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink , stamp onto the prepared cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat emboss with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor the floral image with water-based markers.
Die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock and adhere to the white card base.

Add a bit of shimmer to the flower petals with a clear glitter pen to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Just Believe (Altenew), Scripture Collection 9 (Divinity Designs LLC)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers-Berry Burst, Petal Pink, Lemon Lime Twist; Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black

Tools/Accessories: Gemini, Jr™, MFT Wonky Rectangle Stitched STAX Dies, Embossing Buddy®, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, AquaPainter™

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by!  I hope I have inspired you to create your own card based on our {Mother’s Day} photo and link up to our gallery at The Card Concept- we would love to see what inspired you! The challenge is open until May 11th  at noon EST.

TCC134 Sending Prayers

Hi Friends!

Our challenge is based on an inspiration photo and I love the vintage feel of this photo.  I was inspired by the colors of the bouquet and the textures to create a Shabby and Vintage/Mixed Media card!

I pulled out a stamp set that I have not inked in a while, Roses and Prayers from Unity Stamps along with some neglected designer paper.  I incorporated the Splitcoaststampers SC499 Sketch Challenge (from 2014)  for the layout.

I love the texture of embossing folders and am making an effort to use more of mine (I have at least 100 different folders, so you may see more of them in the future).  This ornate lace folder is one of my favs :-)

To create this card:

Using a 3-D ornate lace embossing folder, emboss a piece of white cardstock.  Apply brushed corduroy distress ink over the embossed panel to “age” the paper, lightly distress the edges and mount onto black cardstock.  Mount the panel onto a white card base.

Layer a piece of designer paper onto black cardstock (for the background layer behind the focal image) and mount directly onto the card front.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool.  Ink the rose flower image  with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink , stamp onto the prepared cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat emboss with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor the image with water-based markers.  Trim and distress the panel, sponge brushed corduroy distress ink around the edges to “age” the image, mount onto black cardstock and distress the edges.

Mount the floral image panel onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Ink the sentiment with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink , stamp onto black cardstock, apply white embossing powder and heat emboss with a heat tool. Trim the sentiment and mount onto the card front.

Add a bit of shimmer to the flower petals with a clear glitter pen and pearls to the upper right hand corner of the floral image panel to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Roses and Prayers (Unity Stamps)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz; Tim Holtz™ Brushed Corduroy Distress;  Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, misc. green designer paper (not sure of manufacturer)

Tools/Accessories: Gemini, Jr™, Ornate Lace 3-D Embossing Folder (Crafters Companion), Distressing Tool, Embossing Buddy®, Clear and White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, AquaPainter™

Thanks again for taking the time to visit!  I hope I have inspired you to create your own card based on our {Mother’s Day} photo and link up to our gallery at The Card Concept- we would love to see what inspired you! The challenge is open until May 11th  at noon EST.
