Our Daily Bread Designs- Christmas Card Collection 2016

Hi Friends!

Today at the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Blog, we are sharing inspiration from the ODBD October 2016 Release! I have designed two more cards using the ODBD Christmas Card Collection 2016 6x6 Paper Pad along with the ODBD Peace Border Die.

I did incorporate a few other ODBD Dies from previous releases into the designs but this time, I did not use any stamps- just the ODBD Christmas Card Collection 2016 6x6Paper Pad images :-)

If you have not had a chance to stop by the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog yet, I encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from my Design Team “Sisters” (affectionately known as the “Breadbasket” or “Breadsticks”).

To create the Merry Christmas Mailbox card:

Die cut and emboss the following from white cardstock using:
1). A 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece using the ODBD Vintage Pattern Flourish Dies
2). The 2nd largest die from the ODBD Vintage Borders Dies

From Dark Purple Cardstock using:
1).   ODBD Vintage Labels Dies- size to fit within the ODBD Vintage Borders Dies frame cut from white cardstock in the step #2 above
3). ODBD Ornate Ovals Dies- 2nd to the smallest die

1). The mailbox image with the ODBD Stitched Oval Dies.
2). The Merry Christmas sentiment with the ODBD Ovals Dies (to fit the Ornate Ovals frame cut from dark purple cardstock cut in stap #3 above).

Layer the pieces together onto the dark purple card base and finish off the card with the rhinestone embellishment in the middle of the bow.

To create the Peace Card:

Trim the Holy Night image from the ODBD Christmas Card 2016 Collection 6x6 Paper Pad, mount onto a rectangle of white cardstock (die cut and embossed with the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies), mount onto a piece of black cardstock trimmed close to the die cut and mount the entire panel onto the white card base.

Die cut and emboss the ODBD Peace Border Die from white cardstock and adhere to the top of the card.

Die cut and emboss the ODBD Shining Star Die from silver foil paper, mount onto the card front with dimensional foam and add the rhinestones to the star centers.

Use a clear glitter pen to add glitter to the light from the stars to finish off the card.

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by and I hope I have inspired you to start on your Christmas cards for either this year (or if you are already finished for this year, get a head start on next year).

Hugs and have a blessed weekend, my friends!

Our Daily Bread Designs October 2016 New Release Reminder

Hi Friends!

Today we are taking a look back at the Our Daily Bread Designs October 2016 Release on the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog today and I am sharing two cards- a fairly simple card along with a fancier Z-Fold card.

I hope you have had a chance to check out the post on the Our Daily Designs Blog-  I know that you will not want to miss out on the gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team, affectionately known as the "Breadsticks"!

Julie (you are here) Sandee * Lisa * Sabrina * Kathy * Diana

My first card features the new ODBD Joys of the Season along with the new ODBD Merry Christmas Border Die and the previously released ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies and ODBD Lavish Layer Dies.

To create this card:

Die cut and emboss a piece of cherry cardstock with the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies, a” silver satin ribbon strips and mount onto the white card base.

Ink the ODBD Joys of the Season tree image with embossing ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock and emboss with silver embossing powder.

Create a mask from sticky note paper for the snow banks, mask the area for the snow banks, ink and stamp the ODBD Joys of the Season tree image with embossing ink, stamp on each side of the main embossed tree image and emboss with silver embossing powder.

Once the embossing powder has cooled, use a silver metallic pen to draw a line to define the snow banks.

Die cut and emboss the stamped panel with the ODBD Lavish Layers Dies and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Die cut and emboss the ODBD Merry Christmas Border Die from silver metallic and cherry cardstock, layer the silver die under the cherry die cut and finish off the card by adhering the layered die cut to the front of the card.

My second card is a bit more elaborate and features the ODBD Fun & Fancy Folds Z Fold Card along with the October 2016 Release ODBD Noel Border Die, ODBD Holy Night Die, ODBD Our Savior’s Birth stamp set, ODBD Christmas Card Collection 2016 6x6 Paper Pad and the previously released ODBD Dies- Beautiful Borders, Pierced Rectangles, Splendorous Stars, Shining Star and Tag Trio.

To create this card:

Die cut and emboss the following from dark navy cardstock:
3). Splendorous Stars Die (second to the largest die and the smallest die)

Die cut and emboss the following from white cardstock:
1). Beautiful Borders Dies (cut 3 borders)

To assemble the card:

Using the ODBD Fun & Fancy Folds Z-Fold White Card base, measure and cut pieces of dark navy cardstock to cover the panels of the Z-fold card.

Measure and cut pieces of the ODBD Christmas Card Collection 2016 6x6 Paper Pad to cover the lower front and inside of the Z-fold card.
Measure and cut a piece of white cardstock to cover the front large panel of the card.

Layer the ODBD Noel Border Die cut along the front edge of the Z-fold (trimming off the excess on the end) and cover the edge with one of the ODBD Beautiful Border Die cuts (trimming the ends as needed).

Stamp the verse and sentiment from the ODBD Our Savior’s Birth stamp set with dark navy ink- the verse onto the ODBD Tag Trio Die cut and the sentiment onto the upper right hand corner of the ODBD Pierced Rectangles die cut panel.

Add the stamped ODBD Tag Trio Die cut to the center panel with dimensional foam and mount the second ODBD Beautiful Borders Die cut to the top (again, trimming as needed to match the angles).

Mount the ODBD Pierced Rectangles die cut panel onto a piece of dark nay cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount onto the outer panel of the Z-fold card.

Add the ODBD Holy Night Die cut pieces (I trimmed off the shepherds and wisemen from the original die) and mount the last ODBD Beautiful Borders Die cut at the top of the panel (matching to the center panel and trimming the edges).

View showing all three panels open :-)
Mount the layered ODBD Splendorous Stars and Shining Star die cut onto the upper left hand corner of the card front and add rhinestones to the center of the layered stars as well as to the top of the tag in the middle panel of the Z-fold and the two stars on the ODBD Holy Night Die panel.

Measure two pieces for the belly band- one from white cardstock and the other a bit wider from dark navy cardstock (make sure you allow room to slide over the closed card).

Adhere the ends in the back and attach the organdy navy triple ribbon bow with the rhinestone embellishment in the center to finish off the card.

I hope I have inspired you and that you will find the time to create something this weekend!

Thanks again for stopping by- hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!
