TCC210 Give Thanks Medallion

Hi Friends!

It’s time for our #210 {Pumpkin Season} Challenge at The Card Concept!

Fall in the Northeast US is my favorite time of year!  The colors of the leaves as they change, the crispness of the air and the fruits of the harvest are all signs of the change of season.

I was inspired by the colors of the pumpkins as well as the black and white checked patterns for my Clean and Layered/Mixed Media card!

I decided to pull out another retired Stampin’ Up! set, Frosted Medallions for the main image and the sentiment is from the retired Verve stamp set, Scripture Medley 3.

I also was able to incorporate a few stitched circles dies, especially, the “wonky” stitched circle die (which I have owned for years and rarely used). I am still striving to create cards using some of my older dies, stamps, paper, etc. :-)

I enjoy participating with online challenges and will be participating with the Cards 4 Galz #235 Circles Challenge and the Inspire.Create Stamping #178 Autumn/Halloween Challenge.

I hope you will take a moment to visit our challenge blog to see how the rest of the Design Team were inspired as well as check out the other challenge galleries to see their gorgeous creations!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of the Sunset Ink Drops 6x6 paper with an embossing powder tool, ink the Frosted Medallions image with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto the prepared paper, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut with a stitched circle die.

Die cut a piece of white cardstock with a “wonky” stitched circle die, layer the embossed image onto the white circle.

De-static a piece of black cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the verse sentiment with Versamark ink, stamp onto the lower left-hand area of the cardstock, apply extra fine white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Trim the black sentiment panel to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”, add the strip of black checked gingham ribbon (wrapping the ends behind the panel).

Adhere the entire black panel onto a white card base.

Mount the layered circle focal image onto the card front with dimensional foam.

To finish off the card, add the black checked double bow and a pearl to the center of the medallion.

What A Savior

Hi Friends!

I am sharing another fairly easy design for Easter that I created this week using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamp Set, What A Savior.

I have not inked this set up in a while and since I had it out for the previous post (the floral image), I went ahead and made several cards with a white background and one with a black background.

I like to participate with online challenges and will be linking this card to the Inspire.Create.Challenge #066 “Easter” Challenge along with the Watercooler Wednesday #266 “All About Occasions” Challenge.

Easter is one of my favorite holidays and although it may be a bit different than normal with our "social distancing" due to the pandemic, we can still rejoice in our Risen Savior and worship online with our church family!

To create this card-

Ink the sentiment image from What A Savior with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut with a stitched oval die.  Die cut another oval from black cardstock, split in half and layer behind the embossed sentiment.

Ink the floral image with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink , stamp onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Watercolor with water-based markers and fussy cut the image.

Emboss a piece of white cardstock with an ornate lace 3-D embossing folder, trim and mount onto black cardstock.  Add a strip of 1” black satin ribbon and adhere to a white card base.

Mount the layered oval sentiment and floral image with dimensional foam.

To finish off the card, use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the petals.

Stamp Sets: What A Savior (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Pear Pizzazz; Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen

Cardstock/Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories: Gemini, Jr.™, Ornate Lace 3-D Textured Embossing Folder (Crafters Companion™), AquaPainter™, 1” Black Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- I hope all of you have a blessed Resurrection Sunday!
