Wetlands- Happy 55th Birthday!!

Hi Friends!!

I had a chance to stamp today and decided to create a card for my brother (today was his birthday so this card will be late...I hope he does not check my blog and see it before receiving it :-)).
I decided to use the Mojo Monday 424 Sketch Challenge along with the Nacho Average #168 Color Challenge and the Seize the Birthday 11/19/15 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

Again, if you have not already visited the above sites, I hope you will take a moment to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

This card is very easy to create:

Stamp the Canadian goose image using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, mask the goose and create a moon mask with a 1 1/4" Circle Punch (from scrap paper), place the masks over the goose and where you would like your "moon" and use a Sponge Dauber to apply Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink.

Remove the masks and use an AquaPainterc to soften your sponged area and pulling some of the ink over the moon.

Use an Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker to color the grass and the Big Shot™   with the MFT Stitched Rounded Rectangular Dies to cut out the image and cutting another die from Early Espresso cardstock.

Cut the Early Espresso die cut in half and adhere behind the goose image.

Use the Big Shot™   with the Arrows Textured Impressions™  Emobssing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto Old Olive cardstock, trim and mount onto the Early Espresso card base.

Use the banner punch to create a few banners from retired Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry Designer Series Paper (DSP) and also cut a strip of Old Olive DSP (mount onto Early Espresso cardstock).

Add the vertical Old Olive striped strip and banners to the card front.

Pull the 1 1/2" Burlap Ribbon into threads and adhere behind the goose image area, mount the goose image panel onto the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals®.

Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, punch out with the 2" Circle Punch and create a frame from the 2" Circle Punch from Early Espresso cardstock (cut this frame in half and mount behind the sentiment).

Create the numbers from Early Espresso cardstock using the retired GoGo Boots™  Sizzlets , spray with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and when dry, mount onto a 1 1/4" Punched Circle.

Add the sentiment with the numbers along with the retired Hodgepodge Hardware Clip to finish off the card.

***Optional ****  I felt that the card was a bit too "white" so I applied a bit of Ranger™ Tim Holtz™ Old Paper Distress Ink (plus this helped cover a bit of the glue around the numbers :-))

So Very Thankful Bloom for You :-)

Hi Friends!

I decided to create a Clean and Layered card using the Pals Paper Arts PPA267 Color Challenge along with the Mojo414 Sketch Challenge  and the Splitcoaststampers; F4A286 “Three Cheers” Challenge (use 3 die cuts and/or punches).

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above links to check out their wonderful Design Team entries as well as their galleries!

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss the Whisper White background with the Boho Chic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.  Also die cut a piece of Tangelo Twist cardstock, Whisper White and retired I Am Me Designer Series Paper (DSP) with MFT Stitched Rounded Rectangular and Jumbo Fishtail Banner Dies.

Emboss the Tangelo Twist rounded rectangular die cut and a scrap piece of Pool Party cardstock with the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Layer the Pool Party embossed panel with the 1 ¼” Burlap Ribbon over the Whisper White Boho Chic embossed background, mount onto a piece of Tangelo Twist cardstock and mount onto the Pool Party card base.

Stamp the Bloom for You flower using Crushed Curry Classic Ink and use the Rock-n-Roll technique with Tangelo Twist Classic Ink.

Fussy-cut the flower, add a 7/8” Scallop Circle punch from the retired I Am Me DSP to the center along with the retired Sycamore Street button and Natural Linen Thread.

Stamp the sentiment using Tangelo Twist Classic Ink onto the Whisper White die cut piece.

Add the knotted Natural Linen Thread to the Pool Party chevron banner (created above from I Am Me DSP), adhere the banner onto the chevron embossed Tangelo Twist die cut, add the Whisper White sentiment die cut and mount the entire layered panel onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

JUN15VSNC You Are My Happy- A Tribute to My Husband :-)

Hi Stampers!

I received my order from the new catalog this week and could not wait to create something with the new stamp set, The Wilderness Awaits.

I love all of the realistic wildlife images in this set and thought it would be perfect for the Splitcoaststampers’ Virtual Stamp Night JUN15VSNC  “You Are My Happy” Challenge (see details here and gallery here).

In addition to only having one hour to complete your card, this challenge wanted us to let the person that receives this card to know why they are our "happy" :-)

I created this card for my husband…some of you are aware that he has been undergoing chemo treatments since November and I am so thankful for his love for the Lord, for me, the 32+ years we have spent together, his attitude of gratitude during this time of medical issues and the moments we get to share together- all of this is precious to me and he is "my happy" :-)

We both love nature and watching wildlife and even though we have never had the pleasure of seeing an elk in the wild, we are hoping one day to travel to some of the more Northern and Western State Parks and possibly see this majestic animal in their natural habitat.

I decided to incorporate the Splitcoaststampers’ CC533 Color Challenge as well (Basic Gray, Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral)- see details here and gallery here .

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you visit the linked sites to check out the marvelous inspiration by all!

To create this card:

Ink the elk image with Stāz-On® Jet Black ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Create a mask for the elk using a piece of scrap paper and also use a circle punch for the “moon”.

Place the elk mask onto the stamped image and position your “moon”.

Apply Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral to the sky area using Sponge Daubers and when satisfied with the sky, remove the masks.

Use the Stampin’ Write Basic Gray marker to color the elk image and add additional details with the Faber-Castell® XS Black Pitt Pen marker.

Add additional color to the sky area with the Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker and sponge the edges with Calypso Coral Classic Ink.

Emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock along with a scrap piece of Basic Gray cardstock with the Big Shot™ and Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Trim the embossed Whisper White panel, mount onto a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock, trim and mount onto the Basic Gray card base.

Use the Big Shot™ with the MFT Stitched Round Rectangle Die to cut out the focal image as well as a scrap piece of Whisper White and the embossed woodgrain scrap piece of Basic Gray cardstock.

I did add addtional detail to the elk with the Pitt Pen marker - close up of the details :-)
Stamp the sentiment using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto the embossed piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and create the banner points with the Hexagon Punch.

Line up the die cut stitching with the focal image panel and adhere the sentiment to the focal image.

Line up the embossed die cut piece of the Basic Gray cardstock with the die cut stitching of the focal image (you may need to trim a bit off the top of the scrap piece) and adhere to the focal image.

Mount the layered focal image onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add two pieces of retired Calypso Coral Stitched Satin Ribbon (from the SAB Sycamore Street Collection) to a retired Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware clip and secure by tying Natural Linen Thread around the ribbon.

Add the clip to the card front with Mini Glue Dots® to finish off the card.
