Happy 11th Birthday to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

 Hi Friends!

Sweet‘n Sassy Stamps is celebrating their 11th birthday this month! We are so excited and will be having sales to celebrate each week for the month of November!

Korin Sutherland has released two new sets this month as “11th Birthday Throwback” sets- Cocoa’s Cups and Crazy About Snowmen!  Both sets incorporate some of the most popular images from over the years at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (many of these images were previously retired) and Korin combined them into two wonderful new sets just perfect for the holidays!  Plus, from 11/01-11/07/18, you can receive 11% off the November release with code HAPPY11NEW!

Plus, you get to choose your November Stamp of the Month from one of our top 4 stamp sets (for a $60 net order (after all discounts and not including shipping- US $$)- good through November 30th!
Plus, don't forget- all $75 net orders receive free shipping in the US!

My first card for the celebration features the new Cocoa’s Cups using the Mojo Monday #501 Sketch Challenge for the layout (guess what?  Julee Tilman has joined our SNSS Design Team plus she has re-started the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenges- woohoo!).

I am also participating with day Simon Says Wednesday “Anything Goes” Challenge along with the Double D Challenge “Stripes or Dots” Inspiration Challenge (I used striped designer paper in the horizontal panel as well as added dots to the snowflakes on the cup image) and the Dies R Us #108 "Stitched Dies" Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the 11th Birthday Throwback: Cocoa’s Cups snowflake cup image onto the panel along with the sentiment with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink (leave plenty of room for fussy-cutting the image as well as die-cutting the sentiment), apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

2). Once the embossing has cooled, fussy-cut the snowflake cup image (I used my Brother Scan ‘n Cut machine to cut this out with just a bit of a border- love this machine I received for my birthday!).  Watercolor the image using water-based markers (see colors below) and add additional white details using Nuvo™ Gloss White Drops and a Sharpie® Extra Fine White Paint Pen .  ***FYI- I had added the gloss white drops to the centers of the snowflakes on the cup first but the color from the marker bled through, so when they had dried, I went over the drops with the paint pen as well as added additional details to the ends of the snowflakes***

3). Die cut the various pieces of designer paper and navy cardstock with stitched rectangle dies.  Layer the white cardstock onto the navy cardstock panel for the card front and add the striped layer horizontally (I split this panel behind the vertical layer to extend the length- no one is the wiser, except you are now, lol!).

4). Add the twine across the center of the card and mount the vertical panel with dimensional foam.   Adhere the twine bow with the button and mount the entire panel onto the white card base.

5). Add the fussy-cut image to a die cut layered circle with dimensional foam and mount directly to the card front.

6). Adhere the layered embossed sentiment using dimensional foam and add three small Nuvo™ Gloss White Drops at the lower left edge of the sentiment circle.

7). Punch three snowflakes using a snowflake punch, adhere to the card front and add pink buttons to finish off the card.

Harvest Mouse- Wishing You A Harvest of Blessings

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a card designed with the Harvest Mouse stamp set from My Favorite Things™.

I have owned this stamp set for quite a while but this is the first time I had a chance to create a card- I just love the sweet mouse images with the sentiments in this fun set, don’t you?

I incorporated the MFT #344 Sketch Challenge along with The Paper Players #356 “TheGreat Outdoors” Challenge and the Just Add Ink #371 “Just Choose Two” into the design (I chose Pets and Designer Paper).

Personally, I have two cats but mice are sometimes pets as well, right? Just not in my house- onfortunately, they would be "dinner" for my kitties :-)

If you have not had a chance to check out the above challenges yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Using the Big Shot™ with the MFT Blueprints #13 Die (stitched frame), die cut a piece of plaid designer paper with just the bottom portion of the die.

2). Use the scalloped frame die from the MFT Blueprints 20 Die to die cut a piece of white cardstock.  Layer the two together and trim to fit the 4 ¼” x 5 ½” card base.

3). Trim the piece of coordinating designer paper to mount onto the gray card base and layer the designer series paper panel per the sketch.  Add a few vertical strips of scraps layered onto gray cardstock for the remainder of the sketch layout.

4). Use the MFT Harvest Mouse dies to cut out pieces from white cardstock and stamp the coordinating MFT Harvest Mouse images using the Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink (heat with a heat tool).

5). Use a combination of alcohol and water-based markers to color the images.

6). Die cut the banner for the sentiment from white cardstock using the MFT Blueprints 20 Die, stamp the sentiment using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink and heat set with a heat tool.

7). Finish off the card by adding the button with the twine to the sentiment and layering all of the pieces onto the card front with dimensional foam.  For the eye, use a small pin to add a bit of Gloss Black Nuvo™ Crystal Drops.

Stamp Sets: Harvest Mouse (My Favorite Things™)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black; Stampin’ Write Markers- Garden Green, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz; Spectrum Noir™ Alcohol Markers- BGR1, CT1, DG2; Nuvo™ Gloss Black Crystal Drops

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, retired Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper- retired Murfield

Accessories/Tools: Big Shot™, MFT Blueprints #20 and #13 Dies, Tangerine Tango button (retired SU!), misc. scrap twine
