One Layer, One Word and One Sketch- Having Fun with Flowers, Stampin' Blendabilities and Challenges!!

Hi Stampers!!

I wanted to play around some more with the new Stampin’ Blendabilities™ and decided to try a one layer card using the Create with Connie and Mary CCMC303Sketch Challenge and the Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge ODBDSLC202 F-L-O-W-E-R Recipe Challenge (use at least four of the letters).

I have Flowers (F), Layer (L), Olive (O), Words (W) , Embellishment (E), Rectangle (R) - love Our Daily Bread Design Challenges and this was a fun recipe/word challenge!  I also love participating with the weekly Create with Connie and Mary Color and Sketch Challengesand I hope you will have the time to check both sites out!!

I decided to combine My Digital Studio (MDS) along with the traditional stamping for the sentiment, etc. since I could re-size the image a bit larger than the stamp, plus the printer ink is water based and the markers are alcohol (so I did not have any bleeding on the ink – love the new markers!! :-))

To create this card:

Open a blank document in My Digital Studio (MDS), position the floral spray from Elements of Style (mirroring the image) and print onto an 8 ½ x 11” piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Color the floral spray using the Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive Stampin’ Blendabilities™. Use the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker to create shadows.

Use the Big Shot™ with the new Project Life™ Cards and Labels Framelits™ to cut out the image (the bottom portion was cut off from the die and the Envelope Punch Board was used to round the corners on the bottom- waiting for my Project Life™ Corner Rounder):-)

Mask the flowers at the bottom using a sticky note and ink up the trellis stamp from Summer Shilhouettes using Sahara Sand Classic Ink and stamp the vertical element of the sketch.

Stamp the sentiment from Love and Sympathy using Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink and using the retired Color Spritzer Tool, add a bit of spritzing using the Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Write marker (originally I had not planned on this but I had a few areas of the card that had unintended marks or bumps from the adhesive, so the spritzing is covering up those “errors”)...love how you can fix "errors"- lol!!

Adhere the panel to the Rich Razzleberry card base and add a few Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Elements of Style (MDS version), Love and Sympathy, Summer Silhouettes

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Rich Razzleberry, Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive Collections, Stampin’ Write Markers- Sahara Sand, Rich Razzleberry

Paper: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry

Accessories: Big Shot™, Project Life™ Cards and Labels Framelits™, retired Color Spritzer Tool, Envelope Punch Board, Pearls

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by (I will be sharing more cards later this evening)!  Hugs to all of you and have a great weekend!
