Another Card for Christmas in July!

Hi Stampers!
I decided to create another Christmas card in July and I was in the middle of creating this one when I spilled my diet soda all over the newly stamped and cut out images!
With heat gun in hand, I was able to salvage the card and decided to use the Stamping 411 SSC210 Sketch along with the CC329 Suede Melon Crumb Splitcoast Color Challenge.  I could use this as my May card for the CCC11 Christmas Card Challenge but since this one had some tedious paper piercing, I believe I will have to modify it to create multiples:-)
To create this card:

Use the brayer to apply Soft Suede onto the smooth side of the Vintage Wallpaper EF and emboss a piece of Soft Suede with the Big Shot.  Lightly spray with Champagne Shimmer Mist Paint and mount onto Melon Mambo.

Stamp the poinsettia image from Bells and Boughs with Basic Black onto Crumb Cake.  Create a mask with a sticky note and stamp the image again overlapping the flowers.  Color the needles with the Soft Suede marker and the petals of the poinsettia with Melon Mambo.  Stamp two other images with Basic Black onto Melon Mambo cardstock and carefully cut around the floral images. Sponge the edges of the Crumb Cake with Soft Suede and use the Color Spritzer Tool with the Soft Suede marker to “antique” the background (and cover up the soda mishap :-)).

Assemble the panel, attach the sentiment/ribbon and add the pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Bells and Boughs
Ink:  Basic Black, Soft Suede, SU! Markers- Soft Suede, Melon Mambo
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo, Soft Suede
Accessories:  Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Decorative XL Label Punch, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint Spray, Sponge Dauber, Color Spritzer Tool, 3/8” Crumb Cake (formerly Kraft) taffeta ribbon, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have been inspired to start on your Christmas cards (it will be here before you know it:-).  Have a blessed week and have fun stamping!

Chriistmas in July- Three Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I love the sketches at Create with Connie and Mary and this week’s CCMC157 Sketch Challenge is no exception.   As usual, the Design Team have created such a wide variety of cards with this sketch- the ideas are wonderful!

I had committed to make ten cards a month through November with the CCC11 Splitcoast Stamper’s Christmas Card Challenge and since this is the April submission, I have been behind on my commitment:-)

This week's Paper Player PP54 Christmas in July Challenge is just what I needed to start my cards again! :-)

Hopefully this Clean and Simple (CAS) card would be easy to reproduce in quantity and  will be the first of several more designs to get me back on track!

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Northern Flurry EF and cut a strip of snowflakes using the Northern Frost Decorative Strip Die. Lightly sponge the snowflakes with Island Indigo (a fabulous new In-Color for 2011-12) and apply 2-Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds.

Punch the edge of the Island Indigo strip with the Eyelet Border Punch and attach a piece of 5/8” Old Olive Satin Ribbon.  Mount onto the embossed panel and attach the snowflakes to the panel with the Old Olive Glimmer Brads (Brights Collection).

Stamp the sentiment with Island Indigo and apply the Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Christmas Greetings
Cardstock: Whisper White, Island Indigo
Ink: Island Indigo
Accessories: Big Shot, Northern Flurry EF, Northern Frost Decorative Strip, Eyelet Border Punch, Rhinestones, 5/8” Old Olive Satin Ribbon, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds , Bright Glimmer Brads

Thanks for stopping by today- I hope all of you have a great time creating this week!
