TCC198 Our Help

Hi Friends!

Welcome to our #198 {Summertime Fun} Challenge at The Card Concept!

This will be our last challenge before our summer break.  The Card Concept Challenge will return with new inspiration challenges in the fall.

I thought that each of these pillows have great summertime images and I was inspired by the top left with the pelican, lighthouse and compass (in addition to the colors) for my Clean and Layered Mixed Media card.

I enjoy participating with other online challenges and will be playing along with A Place To Start “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not already visited us at The Card Concept, I hope you will find the time to do so.  Wonderful inspiration from the rest of my DT sisters as well as at the A Place to Start site.

This was a very easy card to create:

Ink the lighthouse collage image with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto a prepared piece of white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, lightly water-color the image using ink from water-based markers.

Trim the image close to the edge and mount onto black cardstock.

Emboss a piece of white cardstock with a diamond embossing folder, trim to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”, add a piece of turquoise seam binding (wrapping the ends behind the panel) and mount onto a piece of black cardstock.

Heat emboss the sentiment from Scripture Collection 3 (Divinity Designs LLC)  onto white cardstock (using the same steps as the lighthouse), trim close to the edges before mounting onto black cardstock.

Layer the lighthouse image panel directly to the card front and add the sentiment with dimensional foam.

Use a clear glitter marker pen to add shimmer to the compass image.

Stamp Sets: Lighthouse Collage, Scripture Collection 3 (Divinity Designs LLC)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black; Stampin’ Write Markers- Tempting Turquoise, Balmy Blue, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso; Clear Wink of Stella Marker

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Diamond Embossing Folder (retired Stampin’ Up!), Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, AquaPainter

Thanks again for taking the time to visit! I hope you are inspired to create a card and join us for our #198 {Summertime Fun} Challenge at The Card Concept!

Psalm 124:8 Our Help is in the Name of the LORD

Hi Friends!!

Today I am sharing how to create this Mixed Media card (using the Artistic Outpost Beyond the Sea stamp set along with Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Collection 3) on the Artistic Outpost blog .

I absolutely love all of the images in the Beyond the Sea from Artistic Outpost (AO) and decided to create a little scene...I can just imagine this couple taking a romantic boat ride along the shore of this fabulous lighthouse, can’t you?  Or possibly he is consoling her in a loving way...the verse from the Scripture Collection 3 is so appropriate for many occasions as well...Psalm 124:8 “Our Help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of Heaven and Earth”.

It is so comforting to know that the LORD is our HELP...the One who created the Heaven and Earth wants to have a personal relationship with all of us...so comforting indeed!

This was a fun card to design and I hope you will stop by the Artistic Outpost blog to see more details on how to create this card.

Parisian Postcard- Our Help is in the Name of the LORD Psalm 124:8

Hi Again Stampers!!

The entire world grieves with France this weekend as the details of the terrorist attacks unfold- our thoughts and prayers are with them during this time of tragedy.

“Our help is in the name of the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 124:8 and we are praying that the victims of this tragedy will be comforted and have a peace that surpasses all understanding (Phil 4:7).

As I prayed for France, I wanted to create a card reflecting that prayer, so I decided to pull out the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (SNSS) Parisian and Tender Thoughts stamp set along with the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Scripture Collection 3 stamp set and use the Freshly Made Sketches FMS212 Challenge.

To create this card:

Stamp the Eiffel Tower image from the SNSS Parisian Postcard stamp set using Versamark™ ink, stamp onto Whisper White cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Once the embossing powder has cooled, carefully cut out the Eiffel Tower image.

Stamp the Psalm 124:8 verse from the ODBD Scripture Collection 3 images using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, use the Big Shot™ with the My Favorite Things (MFT) Stitched Square STAX die to cut out the image, mount onto Basic Black cardstock and trim to create the frame.

Cut a larger square with the MFT Stitched Square STAX die from Whisper White cardstock, ink the retired Stampin’ Up! (SU!) Script background stamp with Smoky Slate Classic Ink, lay the die cut square onto the inked background stamp and press the paper lightly into the ink, lift and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock (trimming the edges to create a thin frame).

Ink the sentiment from SNSS Tender Thoughts using Stāz-On® Jet Black onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and punch the ends with the Hexagon Punch, mount onto Basic Black cardstock and punch the Basic Black cardstock ends with the Hexagon Punch.

Trim a piece of retired Moonlight Designer Series Paper (DSP), mount onto Whisper White cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Add the Scripture layer directly onto the card front, overlap with the larger square using Stampin’ Dimensionah.
Trim a piece of retired Moonlight Designer Series Paper (DSP), mount onto Whisper White cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Add the Scripture layer directly onto the card front, overlap with the larger square using dimensional foam.

Add the fussy cut Eiffel Tower using dimensional foam (adding additional foam for the top of the tower), adhere the Silver Metallic Thread in the area behind the sentiment banner and mount the sentiment banner using dimensional foam.

Add a few Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Parisian Postcard, Tender Thoughts (SNSS); Scripture Collection 3 (ODBD), Script (retired SU!)

Ink: Versamark™, Stāz-On® Jet Black, Smoky Slate

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, retired Moonlight DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, MFT Stitched Rectangle STAX Dies, Hexagon Punch, Silver Metallic Thread, Rhinestones

My prayer is that if you have not accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, that today would be the day of your salvation  "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).

"Believe on the Lord, Jesus Christ and you will be saved" (Acts 16:31a).

Thanks again for stopping by- hugs and I hope you have a blessed week, my friends!

Psalm 124:8- Our Help is in the Name of the Lord

Hi Stampers!

Here is page five of the heart album that I created for the SplitcoaststampersDivine Design Bible Verse BVC14 Challenge.  The initial post located here describes the steps for the cover of the album along with a few more details on the basic steps for each page of the album…

The verses used are free digital images from Word Art Wednesday (downloaded into My Digital Studio (MDS) and printed onto Very Vanilla cardstock).
Page Five:
“Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth ”  Psalm 124:8
In addition to the steps taken in the first post (adhere the retired Beau Château DSP along with the embossed Early Espresso cardstock to the Heart Chipboard Album page, stamp the bees from Nature Walk using Early Espresso Classic Ink onto the Chicken Wire DSP, “antique” using  Ranger™ Tim Holtz® Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Stain) add the distressed White Tea Lace Doily and the strip of retired Baja Breeze DSP along with the strings of Pearls.
Use the Big Shot™ with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits™ to cut out the verse and also cut an additional label from Early Espresso cardstock.  Cut the Early Espresso label in half horizontally and adhere behind the sentiment.
Distress with Ranger™ Tim Holtz® Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Stain along with the Gorgeous Grunge splatter stamp using Soft Suede Classic Ink.   Adhere to the Early Espresso layer and add the entire verse to the heart page using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Ink the bee image from Nature Walk using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock several times and color the images using Stampin’ Write markers- Hello Honey and Sahara Sand.  “Fussy-cut” out the bees and add them to the sentiment layer.
Add the rolled flowers (created with the 1 ¾” and 1 ¼”” Scallop Circle Punches from Hello Honey cardstock and Baja Breeze Designer Series Paper along with leaves using the Bird Builder Punch from Early Espresso cardstock) to finish off the panel.
