Clean and Simple Christmas

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another quick Clean and Simple (CAS to me :-)) Christmas card using Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps - Texture Tiles 4, Christmas Silhouettes  and Home for the Holidays.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

Also, don’t forget, the December Stamp of the Month, Wood Backgrounds  is free with your net purchase of $75 (US) for the month of December plus any order over $75 (US) receives free shipping and handling!

To create this card:

1). Using water-based markers, ink the holly image from  Christmas Silhouettes with a dark green and burgundy marker and “huff” onto the stamp (to re-moisten the ink) before stamping onto a piece of white cardstock.  Die cut the image with a stitched circle die and mount onto another circle cut from dark green cardstock.  Add a bit of shimmer to the holly leaves with a clear glitter pen (hard to see in the photo).

2). Create the vertical panel by inking the plaid image from Texture Tiles 4 using the same dark ink (see below for the colors I used), trim the panel and mount onto dark green cardstock.

3). Trim another piece of white cardstock to approx.. 4” x 5 ¼”, ink the sentiment from Home for the Holidays with dark green ink, stamp onto the panel and mount onto dark green cardstock.  Trim and add the vertical strip of plaid paper (created in step 2) before adhering a piece of burgundy satin ribbon over the panel (wrapping the ends of the ribbon behind the panel).  Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

4). Adhere the stamped circle die cut with dimensional foam to the card front and add the triple satin ribbon bow along with a few pearls to finish off the card.

Ink/Mediums: Stampin’ Write markers- Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler; Tim Holtz® Forest Moss Distress Ink, Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen

Cardstock/Designer Paper: Whisper White, Mossy Meadow (Stampin’ Up!)

Accessories/Tools: Big Shot™,  My Favorite Things Stitched Circle STAX Dies, SU! Circle Dies, 3/8” Cherry Cobbler Satin Ribbon (retired SU!), Pearls

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- I hope all of you have a fabulous week!

From Our Home to Yours

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another card using the new December Stamp of the Month, Wood Backgrounds stamp set from the December release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps along with the previously released stamp sets, Texture Tiles 4, Christmas Silhouettes  and Christmas Pine.

Also, don’t forget, the December Stamp of the Month, Wood Backgrounds  is free with your net purchase of $75 (US) for the month of December!  Plus any order over $75 (US) receives free shipping and handling!

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the reindeer image from Christmas Silhouettes with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, fussy-cut the image (FYI- I used my new Brother Scan ‘n Cut- love this machine!).

2).  Repeat the same process on another piece of white cardstock as in step 1 using the large image from  Wood Backgrounds.  Once the embossing has cooled, use distress inks to watercolor the image and fussy-cut around the edge.

3). Create the buffalo plaid background panel with the image from Texture Tiles 4 using black soot ink onto white cardstock, die cut the panel with a stitched strip die and mount onto black cardstock, trimming close to the edge.  Use a bit larger stitched strip die to die cut a piece of designer paper for the second vertical panel, mount onto black cardstock and trim close to the edge.

4). Trim another piece of white cardstock to approx.. 4” x 5 ¼”, emboss with an embossing folder, mount onto a piece of black cardstock and trim close to the edge.  Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.  Add the two vertical panels with dimensional foam and mount the  Wood Backgrounds image onto the top of the panels with dimensional foam as well.

5). Loop silver cord onto the wood panel and add the fussy-cut reindeer image using dimensional foam.

6). De-static a piece of black cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the sentiment “From Our Home to Yours” from the Christmas Pine  stamp set using Versamark™ ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Trim the sentiment and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.
