DTGD15JanTink- Friendship is Stitched with Love :-)

Hi Stampers!!

Here is another card that I created for Splitcoaststampers' Dare To Get Dirty 2015 JanTink’s Challenge:-)

As I mentioned in my previous posts this past week, Dare to Get Dirty is an annual event that allows the Splitcoaststampers’ Fan Club members to participate in several challenges hosted by the Dirty Dozen Girls (current and alumni, like me) in creating cards but also the possibility to receive prizes from the member companies (if interested in more details, see the beginning of thispost).

Again, one major rule of participation in the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges is that the actual challenge details are secret to all except the Fan Club Members…I can share the card but not the details on the actual challenge (unfortunately, any details on this card will reveal the challenge details, so if you have any questions, please let me know in the comment area).

It's not too late to join in on the fun- the deadline for uploading to the galleries is August 10th :-)

Here is my card for Jan's DTGD15JanTink Challenge :

Stamp Sets: The Fabric of Friendship (retired Stampin’ Up!)

Ink: Early Espresso, Stampin’ Write Marker- Primrose Petals

Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe; ODBD Soulful Stitches Designer Paper

Thanks again for stopping by- I will be sharing more of my sample cards for the Dare To Get Dirty challenges over the next few days … hugs to you, my friends!!

HYCCT1414 The Fabric of Friendship

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you in the U.S. had a great Thanksgiving!!  We are truly blessed :-)

It has been a busy month with my husband’s chemo treatments and doctor appointments along with Thanksgiving, so I apologize for not posting these cards sooner :-)

I hoping to be able to finish posting the remaining cards that I created for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge (HYCCT) Card Drive at Splitcoaststampers over the next few weeks- the goal of the card drive is to provide cards to the patients and their guests to send as encouragement, etc. for their personal use.

With that in mind, I tried to find sentiments that I thought could be used for various occasions and tried to limit the layers so they would not have to include additional postage :-)

This card was created for HYCCT1414 berlycece aka Kim’s “It’s Time to Step” Challenge - (see the gallery here and the details here) along with tutorial for the step card that I used from Splitcoaststampers (here)

To create this card:

After cutting the base for the card from Very Vanilla cardstock, I covered the card with Early Espresso cardstock.

Ink the stamp images from the retired Fabric of Friendship stamp set using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and color using Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils along with the AquaPainter™.

Use the Distressing Tool to distress the edges of the dress from and sewing basket images.

Use the smaller images (button and scissors) with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink and stamp over the sentiment- punch the sentiment out using the Note Punch.

Clean and re-ink the sentiment using Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink and stamp around the dress form image to fill in the background.   Ink the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink and stamp repeatedly over all of the images.

Use a Sponge Dauber with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink to distress all of the edges and panels (“antiquing” the paper).

Add the sewing Washi Tape to the side panels and center lower panel as well as the corner of the dress form panel.

Mount the dress form image to the center piece of the step panel and add additional sewing Washi Tape to the corner.

Mount the sewing machine image to piece of Early Espresso cardstock and add to the front of the card.

Mount the punched sentiment image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.   Add the Venetian Crochet Lace with the Vintage Trinket.   Add the button to the tag and lower left corner of the center panel.

Add the White Tea Lace Paper Doily to the sides of the center panel to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Fabric of Friendship, Gorgeous Grunge

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Baked Brown Sugar, Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils

Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso

Accessories: Distressing Tool, Sponge Daubers, White Tea Lace Paper Doily, Washi Tape (non SU!), Vintage Trinkets, retired Night of Navy and Real Red Button, 3/8” Venetian Crochet Lace Trim

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope to post a few more cards over the next few days :-)  Have a great week, my friends!

The Fabric of Friendship- Three Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!!

Here is another card I created this weekend and I chose three challenges to use for this card- the Splitcoaststampers Mix-Ability “MIX78 Summer Tags” and SC498 SketchChallenge along with the Fab Friday FabFri46 Color Challenge.

I have linked each challenge above, so if you have not had a chance to visit the sites, I hope you will take the time to check out all of the different designs- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Use a brayer to apply Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush Classic Ink onto the Gelli Arts® Printing Plate.  Lay a piece of Whisper White cardstock over the plate and smooth to lift your first print.

Apply a honeycomb stencil over the Gelli Arts® Printing Plate and brayer Coastal Cabana Classic Ink over the stencil onto the plate.  Re-position the stencil and brayer additional Coastal Cabana ink, lay the original print over the stencil area to lift your second print.

Apply a dot stencil over the Gelli Arts® Printing Plate and apply Strawberry Slush Classic Ink using a brayer and lay the original print over the stencil area to lift your third print.

Ink the stamp image from the retired set, Fabric of Friendship using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and color the image using Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo Collections,  Strawberry Slush Stampin’ Write marker and accents with the Chalk Marker.

Trim the stamped image to a 1 7/8” width and use the Scalloped Top Tag Punch to punch out the tag at the top and the Project Life® Corner Punch to punch the corners at the bottom of the tag.

Cut a 2” piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock and punch the top with the Scalloped Top Tag Punch to punch out the tag at the top and the Project Life® Corner Punch to punch the corners and layer behind the stamped image.

Cut a 5.5” x 5.5” Card Base from Whisper White cardstock and cover with Coastal Cabana cardstock and add a layer of Polka Dot Designer Series Paper (DSP)- from my stash.

Emboss a piece of Daffodil Delight DSP with the Needlepoint Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and add two strips of Washi Tape.   Mount onto a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock.

Emboss a piece of Daffodil Delight DSP with the Sizzix Pattern embossing folder and lightly sand the DSP to expose the white core.  Also emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the same pattern embossing folder and layer onto a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock.

Layer the embossed panels onto the background panel and add the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Create a paper bow using Coastal Cabana cardstock using the Large Oval Punch and strips of Coastal Cabana cardstock (using the Hexagon Punch for the banner points).  Add the bow to the tag using an Antique Brad for the center.

Stamp the sentiment using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and color the heart using the Stampin’ Write Strawberry Slush marker.  Punch out using the Decorative Tag Punch and layer onto another punched image from Coastal Cabana cardstock using the Decorative Tag Punch.

Add the Daffodil Delight button along with the Vintage Trinket pin and Washi Tape.
Mount the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.
