For the Birds

Hi Friends!!

I had a chance to create another Clean and Simple (CAS) Mixed Media card using the Stamplorations™ For the Birds Clear Stamp set along with the CAS(E) ThisSketch #233 Sketch Challenge along with the AAA Cards CAS Game #95 Rainbow and the Stamplorations™ Never Ending "Anything Goes" Challenge.

If you have not already had a chance to visit the above challenge sites, I hope you will do so- gorgeous examples from their Design Teams as well as in their galleries!

To create this card:

1). Die cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Stitched Hillside Borders Die, trim the edges and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

2). De-static the upper panel  with an Embossing Buddy®, stamp the sentiment from For The Birds with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, apply Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

3). Mount the entire panel onto the white card base.

4). Ink the For the Birds image with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, apply Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.  Color the image using Zig® Clean Color Real Brush Markers, use an AquaPainter™ (water brush) to soften and blend the color, fussy cut and adhere to the card front with dimensional foam. Use a Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen to add shimmer to the bird image.

5). Finish off the card with a few drops of Nuvo™ Jewel Drops- Rosewater, Pale Periwinkle and Orange Marmalade.

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black

For The Birds

Hi Friends!!

I wanted to share another card I designed this past week using a brand new stamp set, For The Birds from Stamplorations™ along with the coordinating die cuts.  I love watching birds and when I saw this set was the June stamp set, I knew I would have this set in my collection.

I am going to link this card to the Addicted To Stamps and More #245 “Leave a Little Sparkle Where You Go” Challenge , the Splitcoaststampers Free for All F4A378 "Wing It" Challenge (05/19) , Word Art Wednesday #286-#287 “Anything Goes”Challenge and the STAMPlorations™  CAS Card Challenge for June "Anything Goes". 

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above challenge sites to check out their fabulous Design Team samples and challenge entries- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the For The Birds (STAMPlorations™ ) image using Versamark™ Ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, apply black embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

2). Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the bird with the coordinating For The Birds Dies (Stamplorations™).

3). On an acetate envelope, press Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks, spritz with water, lay a piece of white cardstock into the ink, lift and repeat the above steps until you are satisfied with the results.  Die cut the oval using the MFT Stitched Ovals STAX™ Dies and layer onto a black oval die cut with the same die (split in half to allow the edges to peek out from behind the Oxide layer).

4). Using a Clarity™ Stencil Brush along with the Memory Box Modern Chic Chevron Stencil to lightly stencil Cracked Pistachio and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink onto a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” piece of white cardstock.  Use a Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen to brush over the stenciled area and mount onto a piece of black cardstock before mounting onto the white card base.

5). Layer the die cut oval onto the card front using dimensional foam and add the die cut embossed bird image.

6). Heat emboss the sentiment from For The Birds with white embossing powder onto black cardstock, trim the sentiment and create the flag points (I used a retired hexagon punch).

7). Add the sentiment to the card front along with a few sequins to finish off the card.
