A Friend Loves At All Times

Hi Friends!!

Today I am sharing a card that was designed using two retired Stampin’ Up! sets, Trust God and Best of Sale-A-Bration along with some retired Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Believe it or not, I am still working on organizing my craft room (it is a never-ending process, lol!) and wanted to give both of my older (and neglected) stamp sets some love :-)

If you have not had a chance to drop by the above challenge sites yet, I hope you do so- terrific inspiration from all!

Trim a piece of pink designer paper to 4" x 5 1/4" (I think this panel might be from Tea Party circa 2009).  I am not totally sure if is from Tea Party but I know it is definitely an older Stampin' Up! paper :-)  While organizing, I have been cutting some of my DSP into 4' X 6" panels for cardmaking and neglected to label this package, oops!.  Mount onto Basic Black cardstock, trim and adhere to the Whisper White card base.

Trim the piece of green designer paper (retired Festival of Prints) and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim close to the edge. Adhere this strip directly onto the card front.

Ink the floral image along with the sentiment using Versamark™ ink , stamp onto a prepared piece of Whisper White cardstock, apply black embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Use the retired Note Punch to punch out the sentiment, punch an additional tag using the Note Punch from Basic Black cardstock, trim the black punched tag in half and mount behind the embossed sentiment,  Adhere the layered sentiment directly onto the card front.

Color the cooled image with Stampin’ Write markers (using a water brush to blend the colors) and fussy cut the image. Mount onto Whisper White cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount onto Basic Black cardstock (again, trimming close to the edge).  Use Clear Wink of Stella to add shimmer to the petals and a white gel pen to add white highlights to the center of the flower.  Mount the layered image to the card front with dimensional foam.

Add a few pearls to the corners to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Best of Sale-A-Bration, Trust God, (both retired Stampin’ Up!)

Ink/Mediums: Versamark™ , Stampin’ Write Markers- Bermuda Bay, Chocolate Chip, Pear pizzazz, Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry; Wink of Stella™ Clear Glitter Pen, White Gel Pen

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black; retired SU! Designer Series Paper- Festival of Prints, Tea Party

Accessories: Embossing Buddy®, Heat Tool, Black Embossing Powder, AquaPainter™, Note Punch, Pearls

I am so thankful that you stopped by today- hugs and I hope you have a blessed week/weekend!

Proverbs 17:17- A Friend Loveth At All Times

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you having a great day so far! I had a chance to design a few cards this week using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Pretty Potted Florals and Peaceful Peonies Clear Stamp Sets.

If you have not had a chance to visit the challenge sites or SNSS Blog/FB Page, I encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the Pretty Potted Florals images using archival black ink and stamp onto white cardstock (I inked just the floral part to save paper).

2). Color each flower with alcohol and water based markers, add clear shimmer with a clear glitter pen.

3). Fussy cut each of the flower images and set aside.

4). Trim a piece of white cardstock to approx.. 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the verse sentiment from Peaceful Peonies using archival black ink onto the panel, mount onto the black card front and adhere the entire panel onto the white card base.

5). Die cut a piece of designer paper with a stitched rectangle die and mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim close to the die cut.

6). Add the die cut panel onto the card front with dimensional foam, add the fussy cut flowers and add the pearls to the centers to finish off the card.

“Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”

“So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ”” Acts 16:31a NKJV
The verse on today’s card also reflects what Christ did for us-

A friend loveth at all times” Prov 17:17 NKJV

Today as we remember Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for all of our sins, my hope and prayer is that you have accepted Christ as your personal Savior.  I am so thankful that the Lord Jesus came to earth, lived as a perfect man, died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day. What a wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord!!

Hugs and have a blessed Easter, sweet friends!

Two Horses for Two Special Young Ladies :-)

Hi Stampers!

It has been a busy weekend for me as I was having fun designing and creating cards for several people on our prayer list along with our Awana ministry.

I created two cards using the same stamp set for the horse image for two special 6th grade Awana girls.  They both completed their Timothy Awards and have been so sweet to have in our club for the last two years :-)  They will be "moving up" but I should still be able to see them occasionally on club night- I will miss spending time with them each week for sure!

I incorporated the Splitcoaststampers’ CC532 "Coastal Old Vanilla" Color Challenge with "dessert" :-) (see details here and gallery here) for both cards  and the first card uses the SC530 Sketch Challenge (see details here and gallery here) and the SC538 Sketch Challenge (see details here and gallery here) was used for the second card (modified both sketches a bit :-).

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you will find the time to visit the Splitcoaststampers’ galleries to check out all of the inspiration from the color and sketch challenges!

Shared steps to create both cards:

Ink the Inkadinkado® horse image from the Horses stamp set using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto two pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Color the horse image with Faber-Castell® Polychromos Black colored pencil, the grass with the Stampin’ Write Old Olive marker and use the Big Shot™ with the My Favorite Things® (MFT) Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out each horse image.

Mount the images onto Basic Black cardstock and trim to create the frame.

To finish Card #1:

Emboss a piece of retired Jr. Varsity Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the Big Shot™ and retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Lightly sand the embossed DSP with the Sanding Block to bring out the white core.

Stamp the sentiment from the retired Blessings from Heaven stamp set using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, insert the sentiment panel into the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (keeping the sentiment portion outside of the folder) and emboss with the Big Shot™.

Add the Coastal Cabana Thick Baker’s Twine over the panel at the edge of the embossing, mount onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock, trim the edges, add the retired Antique Pewter brads and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Create the banner from retired Afternoon Tea DSP using the Hexagon Punch, mount onto Basic Black cardstock and create the banner points with the Hexagon Punch.

Add the Coastal Cabana Thick Baker’s Twine with the retired Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware clip and mount the banner onto the embossed Olive Green DSP panel.

Mount the embossed Old Olive DSP panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® (I angled it a bit from the initial sketch :-)).

Add the horse image to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamps: Blessings from God, Horses (Inkadinkado®)

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Stampin’ Write Old Olive Marker; Faber-Castell® Polychromos Black Pencil

Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Old Olive; retired Jr. Varsity and Afternoon Tea DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, MFT Rectangle Stitched Dies, Stylish Stripes and retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Sanding Block, Coastal Cabana Thick Baker’s Twine, retired Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware

To finish the second card:

Lightly sponge Ranger® Tim Holtz® Antique Linen Distress Ink onto the horse image.

Using My Digital Studio (MDS), insert the Word Art Wednesday Proverbs 17:17 verse and print out onto Whisper White cardstock.  Use Ranger® Tim Holtz® Antique Linen Distress Ink to “antique” the paper and match the Very Vanilla cardstock.

Emboss a piece of retired Jr. Varsity DSP with the Big Shot™ and the Modern  Mosaic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, lightly sand with the Sanding Block, trim and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Adhere the Coastal Cabana pieces of Afternoon Tea DSP to Basic Black cardstock, trim and create the vertical and horizontal panels on the card front.

Add the portion of the White Tea Lace Doily (this was an afterthought since I originally had a bit of Hot Glue on my card front and when it was removed, the DSP tore so the Doily is covering up the mistake- lol!).

Mount the verse onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhere to the horizontal panel.

Add the horse image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® , Pearls to the verse and the retired Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware clip to finish off the card.

Stamps: Horses (Inkadinkado®), Digital Verse from Word Art Wednesday

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Faber-Castell® Polychromos Black Pencil, Stampin’ Write Old Olive Marker; Ranger® Tim Holtz® Antique Linen Distress Ink

Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Old Olive; retired Jr. Varsity and Afternoon Tea DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, MFT Rectangle Stitched Dies, Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder,Sanding Block, White Tea Lace Doily, Pearls, Sponge Dauber, retired Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware

Bible Verse Memory Album- Prov 17:17 A Friend Loves at All Times

Hi Stampers!

I am working on organizing my craft storage area and decided to create a project using some of my retired “stash” :-)

I am a little late getting started for the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge (it started in January and the goal is to create one card, scrapbook page, project a month with a verse that you memorize so at the end of the year, you have memorized at least twelve verses).

This album has six hearts (twelve “pages”) and was perfect for the entire year!

I love the idea of this monthly challenge so I plan on creating additional cards/projects for the rest of the year.

I will post each page as a separate post so I can link the Splitcoaststampers gallery to the specific post- here is the first page of the album as well as the overall picture of the project.

The verses used are free digital images from Word Art Wednesday (downloaded into My Digital Studio (MDS) and printed onto Very Vanilla cardstock).
The basic steps are as follows:
Using retired Beau Château Designer Series Paper (DSP), cover the chipboard with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue and adhere the DSP.
Using MDS, position the verses onto the page to allow the best use of space to allow cutting the images out with Framelits™, punches or as banners.
“Antique” the DSP using Ranger™ Tim Holtz® Distress Stain (Tea Dye and Vintage Photo) and add 3/8” Venetian Crochet Trim along with 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon (retired) or Early Espresso cardstock.
Create the rolled flowers from cardstock and DSP (I used Pink Pirouette and Hello Honey cardstock as well as Baja Breeze retired DSP) using punches- 2 ⅜”, 1 ¾”  and 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punches.   Spiral cut by hand a wavy line from the outside of the scallop toward the center and roll up to create the rose (hereis a basic tutorial from Splitcoaststampers).
“Antique” the flowers using Ranger™ Tim Holtz® Distress Stain (Tea Dye and Vintage Photo) and punch out the leaves using the Bird Builder Punch from Early Espresso cardstock.
 Front Page/Page One:
“A friend loves at all times” Proverbs 17:17
In addition to the elements noted above, add a piece of White Tea Lace Paper Doily (“antiqued” with Ranger™ Tim Holtz® Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Stain)  along with Pearls.
Darken the words of Memories with Watercolor Pencils and cut the verse out with the Big Shot™ using the Project Life® Cards and Labels Framelits™.
Stamp Sets:  None, Verses- free Digital Images from Word Art Wednesday
Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Ranger™ Tim Holtz® Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Stain
Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Pink Pirouette, Beau Château DSP, Baja Breeze DSP
Accessories:  Big Shot™, Project Life® Cards and Labels Framelits™, White Lace Paper Doily, Punches: 2 ⅜”, 1 ¾”  and 1 ¼” Scallop Circle, Bird Builder, 3/8” Venetian Crochet Lace Trim
Thanks again for visiting- I will be posting the remaining pages in separate posts

Have a great week and God Bless!
