Honeycomb Happiness- Hello, Sweet Friend

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far!  Today, I wanted to play along with the new stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog, Honeycomb Happiness (I just love this cute little chick image :-)).

Again, if you have not visited the above challenge sites yet, I hope you will find time to do so- terrific Design Team designs and as well as their galleries!!

To create this card:

Ink the chick image from Honeycomb Happiness with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the image with Stampin’ Write Markers- Daffodil Delight, Delightful Dijon and Pumpkin Pie (using a AquaPainter™ to blend).
Carefully cut out the bird image and set aside.

Create the tag element with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch from Whisper White cardstock and cover with retired Sweet Shoppe and I Am Me Designer Series Paper (DSP) with Real Red scraps for layering.

Add the ¼ White Tea Lace Doily along with Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Island Indigo Ribbon and Rhinestones.

Layer the retired Sweet Shoppe DSP onto Real Red cardstock (rounding the corners of each with the Envelope Punch Board), layering again onto Pool Party cardstock and finally onto Real Red cardstock.

Mount the layered background panel onto the Whisper White card base and add the Island Indigo strip per the sketch.

Heat emboss the sentiment from Six-Sided Sampler using Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder onto Real Red cardstock and punch out with the Sweetheart Punch.

Add the sentiment to the lower part of the tag and mount the tag onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the chick image with Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

DTGD15dinia Hello Sweet Friend

Hi Again Stampers!!

Here is another card that I created as a sample maker for the DTGD15DiniAChallenge  as well as the Splitcoaststampers' SC485 Sketch Challenge (see gallery here).

As I mentioned in my last post, Dare to Get Dirty 2015 has started at Splitcoaststampers- this is an annual event that allows the Splitcoaststampers’ Fan Club members to participate in several challenges hosted by the Dirty Dozen Girls (current and alumni, like me) in creating cards but also the possibility to receive prizes from the member companies.

To participate in Dare To Get Dirty, you have to be a Splitcoaststampers’ Fan Club Member, and if you are not a Fan Club member, here is the link to learn more about joining.    This week long event (August 1st- August 7th) is a fun time of chatting in the challenge forums as well as being creative creating cards.

While the Splitcoaststampers site is free, there are many benefits to becoming a Fan Club member and for the $25.00 a year membership fee (less than 3/4 of a  penny a day), you can help support this wonderful stamping resource!  I personally visit this site several times a day- so for me it seems to be a terrific bargain!!  And no, I do not receive a commission if you sign up- lol!!, I am just one of their unofficial “cheerleaders” since I am one of the Dirty Dozen Alumni and just love the site so much- between the galleries of wonderful inspiration, free tutorials, forums and challenges- this site has helped me immensely with my journey into the world of papercrafting!

One rule of participation in the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges is that the actual challenge details are secret to all except the Fan Club Members…I can share the card but not the details on the actual challenge (unfortunately, any details on this card will reveal the challenge details, so if you have any questions, please let me know in the comment area).

I hope you enjoy this fun card using a retired Stampin’ Up! set- Garden Snowmen :-)

Stamp Sets: Garden Snowmen, Six-Sided Sampler

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, Stampin' Write Markers- Blackberry Bliss, Crisp Cantaloupe, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Elegant Eggplant, Midnignt Muse, Marina Mist, Lucky Limeade, Sahara Sand, Basic Black

Paper: Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss, Marina Mist DSP, Season of Style DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, AquaPainter™, MFT HZ Stitched Strips, 1 3/4" Circle Punch

Thanks again for stopping by- I will be sharing a few more of my sample cards for the Dare To Get Dirty challenges later today … have a wonderful day, my friends!!

Hello, Sweet Friend- CAS Embossed Card for Two Challenges :-)

Hi Again Stampers!

While I had the heat embossing tools on my desk, I decided to create one more card using the CCMC334 Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Color Challenge along with another card for the Splitcoaststampers’ Way To Use It WT530 Flutter By, Butterflies (see details here and gallery here).

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites yet, again, I would encourage you to do so- great inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Using the Embossing Buddy® to de-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Ink the scroll image from Everything Eleanor using Versamark™ ink and stamp onto the prepared cardstock.

Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Gold Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Trim the panel and  mount onto a piece of Tangelo Twist cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Bermuda Bay card base.

Ink the label image from Everything Eleanor with Bermuda Bay Classic Ink, stamp off onto scrap paper and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

“Fussy-cut” the label, lightly sand with the sanding block and mount it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, stamp the butterflies onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the butterflies using an AquaPainter™ with Tangelo Twist Classic Ink, add  additional detail with the Tangelo Twist Stampin’ Write Marker and a few highlights with the White Gel Pen.

Use the Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch out the butterflies and mount onto the card front using Mini Glue Dots™.

Stamp the sentiment with Tangelo Twist Classic Ink  onto Whisper White cardstock.   FYI- Originally I had stamped the sentiment with Bermuda Bay directly onto the label and then stamped with Tangelo Twist using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig,  but it did not turn out the way I had hoped-  lol! Now you know... :-)

Trim the sentiment layer and add the banner points with the Hexagon Punch, adhere to the label and add the Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Everything Eleanor, Papillon Potpourri, Six-Sided Sampler

Ink: Versamark™,  Bermuda Bay, Tangelo Twist; Tangelo Twist Stampin’ Write Marker, White Gel Pen

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Tangelo Twist

Accessories:  Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Punches- Hexagon and Elegant Butterfly; Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- I will be sharing a few more cards later today :-)
