Hello, Sweet Friend- CAS Embossed Card for Two Challenges :-)

Hi Again Stampers!

While I had the heat embossing tools on my desk, I decided to create one more card using the CCMC334 Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Color Challenge along with another card for the Splitcoaststampers’ Way To Use It WT530 Flutter By, Butterflies (see details here and gallery here).

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites yet, again, I would encourage you to do so- great inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Using the Embossing Buddy® to de-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Ink the scroll image from Everything Eleanor using Versamark™ ink and stamp onto the prepared cardstock.

Apply Stampin’ Emboss® Gold Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Trim the panel and  mount onto a piece of Tangelo Twist cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Bermuda Bay card base.

Ink the label image from Everything Eleanor with Bermuda Bay Classic Ink, stamp off onto scrap paper and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

“Fussy-cut” the label, lightly sand with the sanding block and mount it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, stamp the butterflies onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the butterflies using an AquaPainter™ with Tangelo Twist Classic Ink, add  additional detail with the Tangelo Twist Stampin’ Write Marker and a few highlights with the White Gel Pen.

Use the Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch out the butterflies and mount onto the card front using Mini Glue Dots™.

Stamp the sentiment with Tangelo Twist Classic Ink  onto Whisper White cardstock.   FYI- Originally I had stamped the sentiment with Bermuda Bay directly onto the label and then stamped with Tangelo Twist using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig,  but it did not turn out the way I had hoped-  lol! Now you know... :-)

Trim the sentiment layer and add the banner points with the Hexagon Punch, adhere to the label and add the Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Everything Eleanor, Papillon Potpourri, Six-Sided Sampler

Ink: Versamark™,  Bermuda Bay, Tangelo Twist; Tangelo Twist Stampin’ Write Marker, White Gel Pen

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Tangelo Twist

Accessories:  Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Punches- Hexagon and Elegant Butterfly; Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- I will be sharing a few more cards later today :-)

CAS Love the Lord Your God- A Color, CAS and "WORD" Challenge :-)

Hi Again Stampers!!

Here is a Clean and Simple (CAS) card that I designed with a marker/watercolor technique using the CQC290 ColourQChallenge along with the Splitcoaststampers CAS323 Happy May! Challenge (see details here and gallery here) and WT530 Flutter By, Butterfly Challenge (see details here and gallery here).

Since the CAS323 Challenge is a word challenge using the month  of "May" as the word- "M"= Masking, Mixed Media, "A"= Aqua and "Y"= Yours (used four times in the Scripture Verse).

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above sites to check out the Design Team samples as well as their fabulous galleries!

To create this card:

Using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, stamp the flower from Choose  Happiness onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Create a mask for the same flower stamp from a sticky note or scrap  piece of paper, cover the initial stamped flower and re-ink the stamp using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp next to the masked image  (overlapping a bit).

Repeat the above steps for the third flower as well as the stems.
Color the flowers using Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and retired Poppy Parade.

Color the stems and around the flowers in the background with the Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write marker, spritz the entire image with water, heat with the Heat Tool to dry and re-apply color/spritz  as needed (being mindful of not using too much water with the Whisper  White cardstock so it will not "pill").

Once you are satisfied with the flowers and stems, add shadows with the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker and splatter with the retired Color Spritzer Tool and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker.

Ink the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge with Blushing Bride Classic Ink and stamp a bit of splatter on the panel.

Re-mask the flowers and repeatedly stamp the border image from Choose Happiness with Blushing Bride Classic Ink.

Stamp the sentiment with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, trim the panel and mount onto a piece of retired Poppy Parade cardstock, trim and mount onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto the Coastal Cabana card base.

Ink the butterfly image from Papillon Potpourri using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp twice onto a retired piece of Blushing Bride Designer Series Paper (DSP)  and punch out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Use the Faber-Castell® White Pitt Pen Marker to add a few highlights to the flower centers and mount the butterflies to the card front to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Choose Happiness, Papillon Potpourri, Gorgeous Grunge, Sentiment Collection  9 (ODBD)

Ink:  Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, Blushing Bride; Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, retired Poppy Parade; Faber-Castell® Pitt Pen White Marker

Paper: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, retired Poppy Parade; retired Blushing Bride DSP

Accessories: Elegant Butterfly Punch, retired Color Spritzer Tool
