Happy Birthday- One Card- Two Challenges!

Hi Stampers!

I created this card using this week’s ColourQ Challenge #CQC66 (www.colourq.blogspot.com) along with the Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge #CCMC132 (http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com).

I love this week’s colors and the inspiration photo from the ColourQ- what a wonderful bold pattern!  The sketch is simple but has what an impact!   I love participating with the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday sketch challenges- they always have such great sketches- if you have a minute, check out all of the Design Team’s samples from both sites along with the other submissions!

To create this card:

First stamp the Butterfly Image from Flores Suaves with Basic Black ink.  Color the butterfly with SU! Markers in So Saffron and Daffodil Delight.  Use a blender pen with Soft Sky (retired In-Color) for the dots on the wings and in the center of the body.

Create a mask and mask the butterfly.  Stamp the background stamp from Flores Suaves in Basic Black and stamp directly over the masked butterfly.  While the mask is still in place, brayer Soft Sky over the background stamp image. Remove mask and trim image.  Mount onto Basic Black.

Mount onto a So Saffron layer (I used a scrap piece that had been previously embossed with the Petals-A-Plenty EF.  Mount onto Whisper White and layer onto a Basic Black scallop square cut with the Big Shot and the Scallop Squares Duo Bigz die.

Use the Big Shot with the Square Lattice EF and emboss a piece of Daffodil Delight and Soft Sky.  Mount the pieces to Basic Black and adhere the 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon.  Layer the focal image over the ribbon and attach the bow.

Using a piece of the Whisper White scrap that had been brayed with Soft Sky, stamp the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Basic Black.  Punch out with the Word Window Punch and mount onto a Whisper White piece that had been punched from the Word Window as well.  Mount this onto a Basic Black piece punched with the Modern Label Punch.  Adhere to the lower part of the card over the ribbon.

Add Pearls to finish the card.

Stamp Sets:  Flores Suaves, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffofil Delight, So Saffron, Soft Sky (retired)
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Big Shot, Finial Press EF, Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die, Word Window and Modern Label Punch, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Pearls, SU! So Saffron and Daffodil Delight Markers, Brayer

Thanks again for stopping by- have a wonderful week!
