TCC129 Snow Much Fun #2

Hi Friends!!

I am sharing another card that was designed using the retired Stampin’ Up! set, Snow Much Fun along with a sentiment from A True Friend (currently available from Divinity Designs LLC).

This is a second Clean and Layered card design for The Card Concept #129 {Warm Winter Wishes} Challenge.  I was inspired by the snowmen images, the wood sign as well as the colors of the pine branches.

I also used the Splitcoastampers SC783 Sketch Challenge for the layout (still trying to create a card for each of their over 700 sketches and am so thrilled that do not end their challenges :-)) and am playing along with the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #129 “Anything Goes” Challenge (both stamp sets are several years old).

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the snowman image with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink,  apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Watercolor the snowman with water-based markers and trim the panel.  Mount onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Emboss a piece of white cardstock with a snowflake embossing folder, trim and mount onto black cardstock, trim and mount onto the white card base.

Layer a piece of designer paper with black cardstock, trim close to the edge and adhere to the card front.   Add the layered snowman image with dimensional foam.

Ink the sentiment with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink,  apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.   Once cooled, die cut with a circle die, mount onto another circle die cut from black cardstock (using a stitched circle die) and adhere to the card front with dimensional foam.

Add a few rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Snow Much Fun (retired Stampin’ Up!), A True Friend (Divinity Designs LLC)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Arteza™ TriMarkers- Blue, Red, Light Green, Orange, Purple, Black; Tim Holtz™ Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass Ink; Spectrum Noir™ Glitter Pen, Extra Fine White Paint Pen

Cardstock/Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black;  retired Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper (I merged quite a few packs together and cannot recall the name of this one- sorry..)

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Northern Flurry Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, MFT Stitched Circle Dies,  Sizzix™ Circle Dies,  Embossing Buddy®, Clear EP, Heat Tool

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- I hope all of you have a fabulous week!

TCC129 A Friend Loves

Hi Friends!

Isn’t this a cute inspiration photo?  I was inspired by those sweet snowmen as well as the colors from the warm wood sign, the pine branches and cones plus the white to create a Clean and Layered/ Mixed Media card!

I am still striving to ink up my older sets and also my personal challenge to complete a card for each of the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenges (they have over 700 sketches so far and I believe I am over a third of the way finished :-)).

With this in mind, I have several snowman images including a few sets that have never been inked before, so I created went on a snowman card making spree and created three separate cards based on our inspiration challenge :-)

The first card that I am sharing is the one I chose to use for my DT sample.  I used the retired Snow Much Fun stamp set from Stampin’ Up! along with a sentiment from A True Friend (current set available at Divinity Designs, LLC).  I paired the stamped items with a few patterns of retired designer series paper (also retired Stampin’ Up!) and used an embossing folder to add texture to the background (looks like a warm sweater- a bit difficult to see in the photo).

This card was an easy card to create-

Ink the snowman image and sentiment with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, stamp onto white cardstock and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor the image with watercolor pencils and water-based markers.  Once you are satisfied with the coloring, die cut the image with a stitched circle die, mount onto a circle die cut from espresso cardstock.

Use a poinsettia knit embossing folder to emboss a piece of white cardstock, mount onto espresso cardstock and adhere to a white card base.

Create the layers with designer series paper (per the sketch), mount each onto espresso cardstock and add the layers directly to the background panel.  Adhere the the snowman circle image and trim off the edge of the circle flush with the card front on the right side.

Add the layered sentiment with dimensional foam or chipboard (lately I prefer chipboard :-)).

Finish off the card by adding a few rhinestones to the sentiment layer and using a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the snowman, snowball and snow.

Stamp Sets:  Snow Much Fun (retired Stampin’ Up!), A True Friend (Divinity Designs, LLC)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black,  Stampin’ Up! Basic Gray Watercolor Pencil, Arteza Trimarkers- Lime, Dark Green, Turquiose, Florescent Orange; Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, retired Designer Series Paper (Stampin’ Up!)

Tools/Accessories: Gemini, Jr™, Dies- MFT Stitched Circle STAX, Sizzix™ Circles Tim Holtz™ Alterations™ Poinsettia Knit Embossing Folder,  Embossing Buddy®, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Rhinestones

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by!  I hope I have inspired you to create your own card based on our {Warm Winter Wishes} photo and link up to our gallery at The Card Concept- we would love to see what inspired you! The challenge is open until Monday, March 2nd  at noon EST.

The Wilderness Awaits

Hi Friends!!

I am sharing another card this morning that was designed using a retired Stampin’ Up! set, The Wilderness Awaits along with a sentiment from Fear Not (currently available from Stamp Simply).

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the elk image with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink,  apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor the elk with water-based markers and use distress oxide inks for the sky. Die cut the image with a stitched the square die and mount onto blackberry cardstock, trim close to the edge.

De-static a piece of white cardstock for the background with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, stamp onto the lower left corner, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Use an embossing folder to emboss a piece of designer paper, lightly sand the surface, cut a strip to create the diagonal layer of the sketch.  Mount onto blackberry cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Adhere the diagonal layer to the white background, die cut the entire panel with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto blackberry cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

Adhere the elk focal image with dimensional foam or chipboard (which is what I prefer).

Stamp Sets: The Wilderness Awaits (retired Stampin’ Up!), Fear Not (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Early Espresso, Gray Granite, Smoky Slate, Soft Suede; Tim Holtz™ Distress Oxide Inks- Tumbled Glass, Picked Raspberry

Cardstock/Paper:  Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss, retired Park Lane Designer Series Paper (retired Stampin’ Up!)

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Boho Chic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, MFT Dies- Stitched Square STAX, Stitched Rectangle STAX A2 Set 1 & 2; Embossing Buddy®, Clear EP, Heat Tool

Delight Yourself in the Lord

Hi Friends!!

I hope all of you are having a fabulous week so far! This morning I am sharing a card that I designed using a few retired stamps as well as retired designer papers (I love being able to use up some of my stash).

As I shared in previous posts, I am working on trying to create a card for each of the Splitcoaststampers (SCS)
Sketch Challenges (there is no deadline for the SCS Challenges) and used the SC220 Sketch for the layout on this card.

This sketch allowed me to use two different patterned papers for the background panel and qualifies for the Simon Says Wednesday “Two or More Patterned Papers” Challenge.

This Mixed Media card was fairly simple to create:

1). On a piece of white cardstock, stamp the larger floral image with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink,  apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

2). Create a mask by stamping the floral image onto a piece of scrap paper, fussy-cut the image and mask the original flower before stamping and repeating these steps for the next two flowers.  Once the heat embossing has cooled, use water-based markers to watercolor the flowers.

3). Die cut the flower panel with a stitched rectangle die and watercolor the background with Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Oxide Ink. Heat set the background ink before heat embossing the sentiment using the same embossing steps as above.

4). Mount the panel onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge, mount onto white cardstock, trim again and mount finally onto black cardstock to create the frame.

5). For the background, die cut the strips of designer paper using horizontal stitched strip dies, mount onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge, mount onto white cardstock and die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die.

6). Mount the background panel onto a piece of black cardstock (die cut with another stitched rectangle die) and mount the background panel onto a white card base. Add the framed floral panel with dimensional foam (or chipboard).

7). Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the petals and add a few Nuvo™ Morning Dew Jewel Drops to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Blooming with Kindness (retired Stampin’ Up!), Scripture Medley 1 (retired Verve Stamps)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, Real Red; Tim Holtz™ Distress Oxide Ink- Tumbled Glass, Broken China; Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen, Nuvo™ Morning Dew Jewel Drops

Cardstock/Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, misc Designer Series Papers (retired Stampin’ Up!)

Accessories: Big Shot™,  MFT Dies- Stitched Rectangle STAX A2 Set 1 & 2, Stitched Horizontal Strips; Embossing Buddy®, Clear EP, Heat Tool

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- I will be sharing a few more cards in the next few weeks (I have over 50 finished cards to post to my blog). Stamping is my “therapy” and I love creating, but it seems to take me so much time to photograph/edit the cards, create the blog posts, etc.- lol!!  Hugs and I hope you will have a chance to visit again soon!

Be Still and Know

Hi Friends!!

I hope all of you are having a great week!  Tonight I am sharing another card designed with retired sets and supplies from my stash.

I wanted to participate with the Just Add Ink #491 Inspiration Challenge (I was inspired by the sand as well as the pastel colors) and am also linking to the Joy of Sets #014 Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge (top row across  Watercolor- Purple- Die Cuts) and the Addicted to Stamps and More #376 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

The image and sentiment were heat embossed with clear embossing powder and brush markers were used to watercolor the seaside and seashell images.

A few rectangles were die cut for the layers and all were mounted onto black cardstock.

The seashells were fussy-cut, distress oxide ink was sponged over all of the edges of the seashells and a clear glitter pen was used to add shimmer to both the shells and water.

Once the layers were added to the card front, the looped silver cord was added prior to mounting the seashells with dimensional foam.

Stamp Sets: Seaside Sketches, Stipple Shells (retired Stampin’ Up!), Scripture Medley 1 (retired Verve Stamps)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Memento™ Tuxedo Black, Zig® Real Brush Clean Color Markers- Lt. Blue, Turquoise, Lt. Pink, Lt. Gray, Yellow Ochre; Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Ink, Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen

Cardstock/Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Lap of Luxury Designer Series Paper (retired Stampin’ Up!)

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Dies- Stitched Rectangle STAX A2 Set 1(My Favorite Things), Pierced Rectangle Dies (ODBD), Embossing Buddy®, Clear EP, Heat Tool, Silver Cord

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs and I hope you can visit us again soon!

TCC128 LOVE

Hi Friends!

What a fun inspiration photo! I love all of the colors as well as the theme of Valentine’s Day!  Originally I was going to create a Clean and Graphic card, but since I wanted to use this vintage LOVE stamp, I decided to design a Shabby and Vintage/Mixed Media card.

In addition to the retired Love Is A Great Thing (Stampin’ Up!) (and in my effort to continue to ink up stamps I already own) I also used images from several other Stampin’ Up! retired sets, Botanicals, Timeless Textures and Tiny Tags.

The splattered background of this card was created using an acetate envelope technique (I used clear packaging from a stamp set).  Slice open one end of the envelope, open and tap a bit of Real Red Classic Ink onto one side of the envelope, lightly spritz with water, close the envelope and “smoosh” the ink together through the acetate.  Open the envelope, lightly press the white cardstock into the ink and continue with the process until you are happy with the results.

Use Frost White paint diluted with water to add a bit of sheen and tone down the panel.  Ink the script image from Botanicals with black ink and randomly stamp over the background.

Add a bit of platinum embellishment mousse in certain areas and stamp the small splatter stamp from Texture Tiles with silver metallic ink.

Die cut a stitched rectangle from the center of the background panel (for the center focal image panel) and set aside.

Cut the remaining background panel to approx.. 4” x 5 ¼”, adhere to a piece of white cardstock, trim again, mount onto black cardstock, trim and mount onto a white card base.

Ink the Love Is A Great Thing image with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Color the image with water-based markers, watercolor pencils, silver metallic marker and frost white shimmer paint.  Add white highlights with an extra fine white paint pen.

Mount the focal image onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge and add a strip of lace.

Stamp the sentiments from Tiny Tags with black ink, punch out with the Jewelry Tag Punch, add a hole for hanging and thread through the silver cord.  Wrap around the central panel and add the silver cord bow.

Mount the entire center panel onto the card front, die cut a few flourishes from white cardstock and add to the corners.  Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the die cuts as well as the letters and finish off the card with a few rhinestones.

Stamp Sets:  Love Is A Great Thing, Botanicals, Timeless Textures, Tiny Tags (all retired Stampin’ Up!)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black,  Real Red Classic Ink, Encore™ Silver Ultimate Metallic Ink, Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils- Real Red, Old Olive, Arteza ™ Trimarkers- Poppy Red, Watermelon, Bright Pink; Silver Metallic Marker, Nuvo™ Pure Platinum Embellishment Mousse, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Wink of Stella™ Clear Glitter Pen, White Paint Pen

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black

Tools/Accessories: Gemini, Jr™, MFT Stitched Rectangle STAX A2 Set 1 Dies, Flourish Corner Dies, Embossing Buddy®, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, 3/8” White Crochet Lace, Silver Cord, Jewelry Tag Punch, Rhinestones, Acetate Envelope

Thanks again for taking the time to visit!  I hope I have inspired you to create your own card based on our {Be Mine, Valentine} photo and link up to our gallery at The Card Concept- we would love to see what inspired you! The challenge is open until Monday, February 17th  at noon EST.
