Rejoice!

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing an Easter card designed with the Stamp Simply He Lives, Graphic 45 Blossom designer paper along with other dies and supplies- all from Stamp Simply!

I absolutely love Graphic 45 paper and the Blossom 8x8 paper is gorgeous! So many pretty florals- so easy to make pretty cards!

I paired it with the Stamp Simply He Lives stamp set- the scripture verse sentiments are perfect for Easter as well as year round.

I have a personal goal of designing a card using one of the Splitcoaststamper sketches and I decided to use a modified version of the SC431 sketch for the layout on this card (I made layer #4 an oval and did not add the little brads on the left of layer #5).

I am also linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #527-#528 "Anything Goes" Challenge.

The main floral image is one of the cut-a-parts from the Graphic 45 Blossom 8x8 paper pad and it was layered onto dark blue cardstock before layering again onto white cardstock.

The sentiments “REJOICE” along with the Romans 10:9 verse (both from the He Lives stamp set) were stamped onto white cardstock with archival black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The "REJOICE" was die cut with the Fishtail Sentiment Banners die set and the Romans 10:9 verse was die cut with the Hemstitch Oval die set (using just the medium oval die without the hemstitch inner die).

To construct the card, trim two pieces of the Blossom 8x8 paper, distress the edges and adhere to a dark navy card front.

Die cut a piece of white cardstock with the Tim Holtz Crochet Die, adhere to the lower part of the background panel.

Add a piece of navy ribbon to the card front, then add a strip of sage twill ribbon- wrap the ends behind the panel.

Mount the rectangle focal image to the card front with dimensional foam, adhere the banner sentiment, mount the verse sentiment with dimensional foam before mounting the card front onto a white card base.

Finish off the card with a few pearls to the upper right hand corner of the card, lower left of the focal image and lower right of the sentiment.

Stamp Sets: He Lives (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black

Cardstock/Paper: Dark Navy, White; Graphic 45 Blossom 8x8 Paper

The Light of the World

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a card designed with the He is the Light stamp/die bundle along with Graphic 45 Catch of the Day 8x8 paper and other supplies from Stamp Simply!

I love the images and sentiment/verses in the He Is The Light stamp set and the Graphic 45 Catch of the Day paper goes perfectly with this set for masculine and feminine cards!

I have a personal goal to create a card for each of the 886+ sketches at Splitcoaststampers and was able to use the SC883 Sketch for the layout on this card.

I am also playing along with the Try It On Tuesday “In with the New” (the He is the Light stamp set is brand new)  and the Word Art Wednesday #527-#58 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Stamp Simply blog or the  above challenge sites yet, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from the Stamp Simply Design Team and well as the other sites!

To create this card:

De-static white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the lighthouse image and verse sentiment from the He is the Light stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto the prepared cardstock, apply clear embossing powder over the sentiment only, heat both images with a heat tool.

Color the lighthouse image using water-based markers and use Antique Linen Distress ink to “age” the paper.

Use the coordinating die from He is the Light bundle to die cut the lighthouse and the Spellbinders Elegant Oval Dies to die cut the verse sentiment.

Layer the four rectangles from the Graphic 45 Catch of the Day paper onto dark navy cardstock (using the SC883 sketch for the layout).

Create the photo corners with a photo corner punch (or from a scrap square piece of dark navy cardstock on a diagonal and then trimming the little corners). Use a piercing tool to create holes for the pewter brads.

Mount the layered background panel onto white cardstock. Use Antique Linen distress ink to age the white background before mounting onto dark navy cardstock.

Add the horizontal layer and wrap the kraft twine over the panel.  Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

Adhere the die cut verse sentiment onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Add the colored lighthouse to finish off the card.

The Card Concept #167 Cuppa Cocoa or Coffee?

 Hi Friends!

It’s time for the #167 {Cuppa Cocoa or Coffee?} Challenge at The Card Concept!

I know that most people drink coffee and several of my friends as well as my father like it black, but I have to “doctor” my coffee with a tablespoon of hot cocoa and top it off with whipped cream, lol!

So obviously, I am not a true coffee aficionado and since I am trying to limit my sugar intake, I do not drink my coffee or hot chocolate often :-)

I do love our inspiration photo though and was inspired by the Nordic patterns on the cups, the overall colors and the theme to create a Clean and Layered card!

I decided to pull out several unused items from my stash- the MFT Hot Cocoa Cups Die-namics, some retired Stampin’ Up! items- papers, ribbon, embossing folder and a still current but unloved Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamp set- Cocoa's Cups!

I also was able to use the Splitcoaststampers’ SC727 Sketch for the layout and am linking to the Stamping Sensations “Anything Goes with Stamping and optional Add A Die”Challenge.

I hope you have a chance to check out the rest of The Card Concept Design Team cards and, if you have time, create a card based on our inspiration photo and join us!

This card was simple to create- dry and heat embossing, die cutting and layering.

The following items were used:

Stamp Sets: Cocoa’s Cups (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)

Ink/Mediums: Ground Espresso Distress Oxide, Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker

Cardstock/Paper: White; Early Espresso, Garden Green, retired Purely Pomegranate (all Stampin’ Up!), retired Snow Festival DSP and other DSP (Stampin’ Up!)

Tools/Accessories:  Big Shot, retired Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, My Favorite Things Dies- Hot Cocoa Cups Die-namics, Stitched Circle and Oval STAX; Circle Dies (retired Stampin’ Up!), Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, 3/8” Raspberry Ripple Stitched Ribbon (retired Stampin’ Up!), Rhinestones

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- we hope you have a blessed week!

Charm is Deceptive

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a feminine card featuring the Thinking of You Rose stamp set along with the Echo Park Cupid & Co 6x6 paper pad and other  Stamp Simply lace, ribbon, dies, etc.

This card will either be a Valentine or possibly a birthday card for one of the ladies in our Bible Study.

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and used the Splitcoaststampers SC853 Sketch for the layout on this card.

I will also be linking this card to the following challenge galleries-  Watercooler Wednesday #332 Tristan's “All Things Feminine” Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #525-#526 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you will visit the Stamp Simply blog along with the other challenge sites- fabulous inspiration from all!

This card was fairly simple to create- the stamped images were heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The rose was colored with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating die.

The Cupid & Co paper was layered onto white cardstock, trimmed and layered again onto black cardstock.  The beautiful Venise lace was added along with two layers of the black twill ribbon.

The sentiment was die cut with the Hemstitch Rectangle Dies (medium die) and mounted onto black cardstock and the card was finished off with a few black rhinestones.
