Hi Friends!
We have been featuring cards for Easter this past week on the Stamp Simply blog and I am sharing a quick card designed using He Is Risen along with Floral Clusters- Summer Roses, the coordinating die and Vivid Ink Drops 6x6 paper (all from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store).
The background is actually “faux” alcohol ink and is a piece of designer
paper from the Consortium Vivid Ink Drops 6x6 paper pad- I absolutely love this
paper, don’t’ you?
I enjoy working with alcohol inks, but it can be messy- this paper pad takes all the work out of creating those fun backgrounds!
Easter is right around the corner and as many of you who follow my blog know, I love to participate with online challenges! I tend to mail more Christmas cards than Easter, but this year, with social distancing, I am making an effort to mail holiday cards and Easter is the most important holiday!Until now, I have not inked up this sentiment stamp (or
this floral image) nor have I used paper from this paper pad, so this entire
card is designed with my “latest”:-)
In addition to The Flower Challenge, I am also participating with the
Word Art Wednesday #477-#478 “Anything Goes” Challenge and the Simon Says Wednesday “Love is in the Air” Challenge.
John 3”16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His One and Only Son,
that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life” - there is no greater love than this! Easter is a celebration of our Risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and His great love for all of us!
If
you have not had time to check out the Stamp Simply blog or the other challenge
sites yet, I hope you will do so- wonderful inspiration from all!
To
create this card:
Cut
a piece of black cardstock to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”, adhere a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” white
cardstock to the panel.
De-static
the lower edge of a 3 ¾” x 5” piece of the Vivid Inks designer paper with an embossing
powder tool, stamp the John 3:16 verse sentiment from He
Is Risen with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear
embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.
Once
the embossing has cooled, adhere to the background panel and mount onto a white
card base.
Once
the embossing has cooled, watercolor the image using water-based makers and die
cut with the coordinating Floral
Cluster die. Die cut two more of the
florals from white cardstock, adhere behind the colored floral image.
Mount
onto the card front using dimensional foam or chipboard.
Use
a clear
glitter pen to add shimmer to the flower petals and add a few pearls
to the corners to finish off the card.

Julie, this is a true beauty! The color scheme is gorgeous and your card is, too!
Julie, what a gorgeous card with the designer paper you've used! It's stunning! And what a precious verse -- probably the first Scripture verse I memorized as a child. Easter is the culmination of the life of Christ our Savior! Hugs and love, sweet friend!
This is absolutely beautiful on that rich background with the sweet flowers!
What a stunning creation this is. I love the flower stamp you have used and that amazing background paper. I love love the look of alcohol ink backgrounds and have been trying to get this paper for some time. What a wonderful colour you used to show off your flowers to perfection. Thank you so much for joining us at The Flower Challenge and we hope to see you there again soon. Aileen DesignTeam
