He Is My Light

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Stamp Simply Design Team have been sharing lighthouse/nautical cards.

Again, if you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

I love the Craft Consortium Ink Drops- Ocean 6x6 paper for lighthouse cards since the papers look so much like water!

I paired a piece of the paper along with the He Is The Light stamp set for a quick and easy card.

To create this card:

Trim a piece of the Ocean Ink Drops paper to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.  De-static the upper left hand corner with an embossing powder tool, ink the verse sentiment from He Is The Light with Versamark ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim and mount onto the white card base.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the lighthouse image from He Is The Light with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder an heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, color with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating dieDie cut a few extra lighthouse images to layer behind the main image (this creates a thicker image for mounting).

Add a piece of cheesecloth to the card front and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

As those of you who follow my blog, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be joining the Word Art Wednesday #607-#608 "Anything Goes" Challenge.

The Lord is My Light

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing an easy card designed with the He is the Light clear stamp set, Craft Consortium Ink Drops Ocean 6x6 paper along with dies and other supplies, all from Stamp Simply

I absolutely love the Craft Consortium Ink Drops paper and the Ocean pad is one of my favs (FYI- I do own alcohol inks but this paper makes it so easy to create cards without all of the mess of the inks)!

I also love the Heis the Light Bundle- the lighthouse, other images and sentiments are perfect for masculine cards as well as summer cards for everyone.  Plus the coordinating dies make it so easy to die cut those beautiful images!

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and I will be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #591- #592 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out the inspiration from the Stamp Simply Design Team or the Word Art Wednesday Challenge site, I hope you will take the time to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

This card was another fairly quick one to create-

The background is a piece of the Oceans Ink Drops paper trimmed to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”, mount onto a white card base.

Add a piece of cheesecloth on an angle to the card front.

De-static a piece of white cardstock, ink the sentiment and lighthouse image from He is the Light with
Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the lighthouse with the coordinating die (die-cutting an additional plain one from white cardstock) and the sentiment using one of the banners from the FishtailSentiment Banner Dies.

Trim the sentiment banner and adhere directly to the card base.  Add a few aqua rhinestones to the top of the banner.

Watercolor the lighthouse with water-based markers, mount onto the plain die cut lighthouse before adding to the card front with dimensional foam.

Stamp Sets: He is the Light (Stamp Simply)

Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Antique Linen and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Ink

Cardstock/Paper:  White, Black; Graphic 45 Well Groomed 8x8 Paper Pad

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Stamp Simply Dies- Fishtail Sentiment Banners, Dritz Cheesecloth 36” x 3 yds, Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Aqua Rhinestones

Also, check out the Lighthouse Series from Stamp Simply!

The Light of the World

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a quick Clean and Layered card that was designed using the StampSimply Clear Stamps- He is the Light Bundle along with the CraftConsortium Ink Drops- Ocean 6x6 Paper Pad and a few other supplies all from Stamp Simply

I think that the Ocean Ink Drops paper pairs perfectly with the He is the Light Bundle, don't you?

I was able to incorporate another one of the Splitcoaststampers’ Sketch Challenges into the design (SC304)- woohoo! FYI-  I have a personal goal to create a card for each of the over 916+ sketches – I have created cards for over half of them now, but have not had time to post all to my blog!  Never enough time, it seems- lol!

Also, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and am linking this card to one of my favorite challenges- the Word Art Wednesday #555-#556 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not already had a chance to do so, I hope you will take the time to visit the Stamp Simply blog to see all of the inspiration from the rest of the SS Design Team as well as the WordArt Wednesday and Splitcoaststampers sites- fabulous galleries from all!

To create this card:

Trim a piece of the Craft Consortium Ocean Ink Drops 6x6 paper to 4 ” x 5 ¼”, mount onto a piece of white cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount onto a piece of black cardstock.

Repeat the above steps for the small top horizontal layer (I used the scrap piece that I had cut from the panel used above as well).  This panel is approx. 1 ¾” x 4 ½”.

Emboss a 2 ¼” x 4 ¾” piece of blue cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Lumber Embossing Folder, mount onto a piece of white cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount onto a piece of black cardstock.

Layer the two panels onto the background panel.

De-static a two pieces of white cardstock with an embossing embossing powder tool.

Stamp the verse sentiment from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps- He is the Light Bundle  onto one piece of the white cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the sentiment with the medium oval die from the Spellbinders Amazing Grace- Hemstitch Ovals Dies.

Die cut another oval from black cardstock (not using the medium oval outer die only from the Hemstitch Oval Dies) and mount behind the sentiment.

On the other white cardstock panel, stamp the lighthouse from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps- He is the Light Bundle  using Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor the image with water-based markers and die cut using the coordinating die from the He is the Light Bundle. Die cut two additional lighthouse pieces from white cardstock to mount behind the stamped/embossed image.

Adhere the oval panel to the card front, add a strip of the dark purple seam binding from the Blues/Purples Seam Binding Sampler, and mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

Finish off the card with the dark purple bow  and lighthouse image (mounted with thin chipboard).

Stamp Sets: He is the Light   (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine Ink Pad- Onyx Black,  Stampin’ Write Markers- Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Smoky Slate

Cardstock/Paper:  White, Black; Craft Consortium Ocean Ink Drops 6x6 paper

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Stamp Simply Steel Dies- He is the Light, Spellbinders Amazing Paper Grace- Hemstitch Ovals Dies, Seam Binding Sampler- Blues Purples- 30 yards,  Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

The Light of the World

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a card designed with the He is the Light stamp/die bundle along with Graphic 45 Catch of the Day 8x8 paper and other supplies from Stamp Simply!

I love the images and sentiment/verses in the He Is The Light stamp set and the Graphic 45 Catch of the Day paper goes perfectly with this set for masculine and feminine cards!

I have a personal goal to create a card for each of the 886+ sketches at Splitcoaststampers and was able to use the SC883 Sketch for the layout on this card.

I am also playing along with the Try It On Tuesday “In with the New” (the He is the Light stamp set is brand new)  and the Word Art Wednesday #527-#58 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Stamp Simply blog or the  above challenge sites yet, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from the Stamp Simply Design Team and well as the other sites!

To create this card:

De-static white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the lighthouse image and verse sentiment from the He is the Light stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto the prepared cardstock, apply clear embossing powder over the sentiment only, heat both images with a heat tool.

Color the lighthouse image using water-based markers and use Antique Linen Distress ink to “age” the paper.

Use the coordinating die from He is the Light bundle to die cut the lighthouse and the Spellbinders Elegant Oval Dies to die cut the verse sentiment.

Layer the four rectangles from the Graphic 45 Catch of the Day paper onto dark navy cardstock (using the SC883 sketch for the layout).

Create the photo corners with a photo corner punch (or from a scrap square piece of dark navy cardstock on a diagonal and then trimming the little corners). Use a piercing tool to create holes for the pewter brads.

Mount the layered background panel onto white cardstock. Use Antique Linen distress ink to age the white background before mounting onto dark navy cardstock.

Add the horizontal layer and wrap the kraft twine over the panel.  Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

Adhere the die cut verse sentiment onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Add the colored lighthouse to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: He is the Light (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Poppy Parade, Night of Navy, Midnight Muse, Smoky Slate; Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress
