Stamp Simply May 2024 New Release- Edmund Fitzgerald

Hi Friends!

Today, I am sharing a card designed using the brand new release stamp set, The Great Lakes Freighter- Edmund Fitzgerald Bundle which is part of the Masculine/Nautical Great Lakes Series Release from Stamp Simply.

I love both of the new stamp bundles in this release, the Great Lakes Freighter- The Edmund Fitzgerald Bundle and the Mackinac Bridge Bundle- love the fonts used as well as the sentiments are perfect for all occasions!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of the Ocean Ink Drops 6x6 paper (approx 4” x 3 ½ ”) with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment from The Great Lakes Freighter- The Edmund Fitzgerald using Versamark ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and a stencil brush, apply ink over a 3” x 4” piece of white cardstock (to resemble clouds- this is hard to see in the photo).  Heat set the ink with a heat tool.

Layer the cloud piece onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock and add the embossed Ocean layer onto the bottom.

Adhere the white scalloped trim over the raw edges of the layers and add the blue seam binding (wrapping the ends of the seam binding to the back of the panel).

Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

Add a strip of the Ocean designer paper to the inside of the card.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the ship image from The Great Lakes Freighter-The Edmund Fitzgerald with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto the prepared panel, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Water color the image with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating die (also die-cutting an additional ship from white cardstock to layer behind the colored image).

Mount the ship image to the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #649-#650 "Anything Goes" Challenge (link here).

He Is My Light

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Stamp Simply Design Team have been sharing lighthouse/nautical cards.

Again, if you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

I love the Craft Consortium Ink Drops- Ocean 6x6 paper for lighthouse cards since the papers look so much like water!

I paired a piece of the paper along with the He Is The Light stamp set for a quick and easy card.

To create this card:

Trim a piece of the Ocean Ink Drops paper to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.  De-static the upper left hand corner with an embossing powder tool, ink the verse sentiment from He Is The Light with Versamark ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim and mount onto the white card base.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the lighthouse image from He Is The Light with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder an heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, color with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating die.  Die cut a few extra lighthouse images to layer behind the main image (this creates a thicker image for mounting).

Add a piece of cheesecloth to the card front and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

As those of you who follow my blog, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be joining the Word Art Wednesday #607-#608 "Anything Goes" Challenge.

The Light of the World

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a quick Clean and Layered card that was designed using the StampSimply Clear Stamps- He is the Light Bundle along with the CraftConsortium Ink Drops- Ocean 6x6 Paper Pad and a few other supplies all from Stamp Simply.

I think that the Ocean Ink Drops paper pairs perfectly with the He is the Light Bundle, don't you?

I was able to incorporate another one of the Splitcoaststampers’ Sketch Challenges into the design (SC304)- woohoo! FYI-  I have a personal goal to create a card for each of the over 916+ sketches – I have created cards for over half of them now, but have not had time to post all to my blog!  Never enough time, it seems- lol!

Also, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and am linking this card to one of my favorite challenges- the Word Art Wednesday #555-#556 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not already had a chance to do so, I hope you will take the time to visit the Stamp Simply blog to see all of the inspiration from the rest of the SS Design Team as well as the WordArt Wednesday and Splitcoaststampers sites- fabulous galleries from all!

To create this card:

Trim a piece of the Craft Consortium Ocean Ink Drops 6x6 paper to 4 ” x 5 ¼”, mount onto a piece of white cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount onto a piece of black cardstock.

Repeat the above steps for the small top horizontal layer (I used the scrap piece that I had cut from the panel used above as well).  This panel is approx. 1 ¾” x 4 ½”.

Emboss a 2 ¼” x 4 ¾” piece of blue cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Lumber Embossing Folder, mount onto a piece of white cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount onto a piece of black cardstock.

Layer the two panels onto the background panel.

De-static a two pieces of white cardstock with an embossing embossing powder tool.

Stamp the verse sentiment from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps- He is the Light Bundle  onto one piece of the white cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the sentiment with the medium oval die from the Spellbinders Amazing Grace- Hemstitch Ovals Dies.

Die cut another oval from black cardstock (not using the medium oval outer die only from the Hemstitch Oval Dies) and mount behind the sentiment.

On the other white cardstock panel, stamp the lighthouse from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps- He is the Light Bundle  using Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor the image with water-based markers and die cut using the coordinating die from the He is the Light Bundle. Die cut two additional lighthouse pieces from white cardstock to mount behind the stamped/embossed image.

Adhere the oval panel to the card front, add a strip of the dark purple seam binding from the Blues/Purples Seam Binding Sampler, and mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

Finish off the card with the dark purple bow  and lighthouse image (mounted with thin chipboard).

Stamp Sets: He is the Light   (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine Ink Pad- Onyx Black,  Stampin’ Write Markers- Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Smoky Slate

Cardstock/Paper:  White, Black; Craft Consortium Ocean Ink Drops 6x6 paper

Nothing Will Be Impossible

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing an encouragement card designed with the new Craft Consortium Ocean Ink Drops 6x6 Paper Pad along with the Ocean Seam Binding Bundle, Scripture for Graduation & Beyond as well as a few other supplies, all from Stamp Simply.

Since the new Ocean Ink Drops Paper is so gorgeous, I chose not to cover up too much of the design :-)  I love all of the colors and the Ocean Seam Binding bundle matches perfectly!  Look at all of those scrumptious colors- 30 yards total!

And the  sentiments and verses in the Scripture for Graduation & Beyond are perfect for graduation, retirement and encouragement- one of my favorite stamp sets for sure!

Also, as many of you who follow my blog know, I have a personal goal to create a card with each of Splitcoaststampers sketches and decided to use the Splitcoaststampers SC886 Sketch for the design on this card (I did modify slightly with the ribbon).

I am also playing along with the Word Art Wednesday #529-#530 “Anything Goes”Challenge.

If, you have not already done so, I hope you have a chance to visit the Stamp Simply blog to see all of the inspiration from the rest of the SS Design Team!  Also, Splitcoaststampers and Word Art Wednesday are fabulous sites for inspiration as well!

To create this card:

Trim a piece of the Ocean Ink Drops 6x6 paper to approx. 4” x 5”, cut into five panels in various widths.

Mount onto a piece of light green cardstock, trim and mount again onto a piece of teal cardstock.

Add a strip of the light blue/green seam binding from the Ocean Seam BindingBundle, wrap the ends behind the panel.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the scripture sentiment from Scripture for Graduation & Beyond with archival black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut with the medium Hemstitch Rectangle Die, mount onto light green cardstock and trim close to the edge.

Adhere the sentiment to the card front with dimensional foam and mount onto a white card base.

Add a strip of the same pattern paper Ocean Ink Drops paper to the inside lower edge of the card- first mount the strip onto light green, then teal cardstock). FYI- I used part of the 2” scrap remaining from the Ocean Ink Drops panel used on the front of the card (hard to see in the photos).

Add the seam binding bow along with a few black rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Scripture for Graduation & Beyond (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black

Cardstock/Paper:  White, Pistachio Pudding, Taken with Teal (all retired Stampin’ Up!); Craft Consortium Ocean Ink Drops 6x6 Paper Pad
