Happy Mother's Day Iris

Hi Friends!

Happy Mother’s Day weekend!  Today I am sharing a fairly easy Mother’s Day card using stamps, dies, and paper all from Stamp Simply

This card incorporates an embossing folder as well as heat embossing, a bit of lace and seam binding, pretty designer paper, a die cut oval and a few pearls!

My mother loved spring when the irises would start to bloom- lilacs and irises were her favorite!  Purple is one of my favorite colors so I decided to create this card in honor of her.

 To create this card:

Using the Brickwork 3D embossing folder, emboss a piece of white cardstock, die cut an oval in the upper right area, tear off the bottom edge and set aside.

De-static a piece of the purple woodgrain patterned paper from the Beach Hut 6x6 paper pad (approx. 4 ¼” x 5 ¼”), ink the “Wishing You A” sentiment from Happy Day Iris with Versafine Onyx Black ink (positioning it to fit within the oval die cut), apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Trim the brickwork embossed layer to fit over the sentiment and mount onto the Beach Hut paper (do not adhere on the lower left hand side of the oval to allow room for the banner sentiment in the next step), trim and onto lilac cardstock.

De-static a piece of black cardstock, ink the “Mother’s Day” sentiment from Happy Day Iris with Versamark ink and stamp onto the prepared panel.

Apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the sentiment with the Fishtail Sentiment Banners die, insert into the oval die cut and add dimensional foam under the banner.

Layer the lace near the bottom of the card front, add the lilac seam binding, wrapping the ends behind the panel.

Create a bow from the lilac seam binding, adhere the panel to a white card base.

Ink the iris image from Happy Day Iris with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the image with the coordinating die, color with water-based markers and adhere with dimensional foam to the card front.

Add a strip of the purple designer paper to the left hand side of the inside panel of the card base and finish off the card with a few pearls in the upper left hand corner of the card front.

The Lord is My Light

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing an easy card designed with the He is the Light clear stamp set, Craft Consortium Ink Drops Ocean 6x6 paper along with dies and other supplies, all from Stamp Simply

I absolutely love the Craft Consortium Ink Drops paper and the Ocean pad is one of my favs (FYI- I do own alcohol inks but this paper makes it so easy to create cards without all of the mess of the inks)!

I also love the Heis the Light Bundle- the lighthouse, other images and sentiments are perfect for masculine cards as well as summer cards for everyone.  Plus the coordinating dies make it so easy to die cut those beautiful images!

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and I will be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #591- #592 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out the inspiration from the Stamp Simply Design Team or the Word Art Wednesday Challenge site, I hope you will take the time to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

This card was another fairly quick one to create-

The background is a piece of the Oceans Ink Drops paper trimmed to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”, mount onto a white card base.

Add a piece of cheesecloth on an angle to the card front.

De-static a piece of white cardstock, ink the sentiment and lighthouse image from He is the Light with
Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the lighthouse with the coordinating die (die-cutting an additional plain one from white cardstock) and the sentiment using one of the banners from the FishtailSentiment Banner Dies.

Trim the sentiment banner and adhere directly to the card base.  Add a few aqua rhinestones to the top of the banner.

Watercolor the lighthouse with water-based markers, mount onto the plain die cut lighthouse before adding to the card front with dimensional foam.

Stamp Sets: He is the Light (Stamp Simply)

America the Beautiful

Hi Friends!

This week the Design Team at Stamp Simply are sharing a few patriotic cards. Today I am sharing a patriotic card designed using stamps, dies and paper all from Stamp Simply!

I love all things Americana and Patriotic and the
Old Glory Bundle is perfect for creating cards as well as décor items.

Plus, Stamp Simply has several other fabulous Patriotic stamps perfect for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veteran’s Day or just every day!

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be linking this card to the
Word Art Wednesday #587-#588 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

I hope you have a chance to check out the rest of the inspiration from the Stamp Simply Design Team as well as from the Word Art Wednesday Challenge site.

The USA image from the Old Glory Bundle was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto white cardstock and heat set with a heat tool.

After die-cutting with the coordinating die from the Old Glory Bundle, the image was colored with watercolor pencils along with water-based markers.

Two additional die cuts from white cardstock were layered behind the USA image.

The Echo Park Let Freedom Ring 6x6 paper pad is perfect for summer and patriotic cards! The small banner flags were die cut from the Fishtail Sentiment Banners dies and mounted behind the sentiment panel from the paper pad.

The white cardstock background was embossed with the 3D Lumber EF and mounted onto navy cardstock.

The stars were die cut from the Old Glory Bundle from silver metallic cardstock and scraps of the Echo Part Let Freedom Ring paper (plus the horizontal red and white striped strip is a paper scrap as well).

This card will be perfect for a summer encouragement or birthday card (we have several family members born on July 4th).

God Bless The USA

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a center step gift card designed with stamps, dies and supplies from Stamp Simply

I love all things patriotic and absolutely love the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps- Old Glory Bundle, Patriotic Bundle Trio, The Red, White and Blue and Patriotic Sentiments stamp sets/die bundles and used all of them in this card.

I used the
Center Step Gift Card Tutorial at Splitcoaststampers to create the base for this card from navy cardstock. The inside flap has a pocket that you can fit a gift card for the recipient- love this twist on the center step!

If you have not already had a chance to do so, I hope you visit the Stamp Simply blog to see all of the inspiration from the rest of the SS Design Team as well as the other challenge galleries- gorgeous galleries from all!

To create this card:

After you create the base from navy cardstock, emboss a panel of white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Lumber Embossing Folder , trim and adhere to the front of the center step card.

Create the banners from the Echo Park Let Freedom Ring 6x6 Paper Pad and navy cardstock using the Fishtail Sentiment Banners Dies.

Add the striped designer paper along the front of the step card and adhere the stamped sentiment banner over the edge.

Watercolor the USA flag country image with watercolor pencils, die cut with the coordinating die (also die cut two additional dies from white cardstock), layer behind the colored image and mount onto the card from using dimensional foam.

Add the navy twine bow and red rhinestones, finish off the bow with a red button.

For the inside: Ink the subway background stamp from The Red, White and Blue stamp set with navy ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock.

Trim and add to the inside of the step card, add a strip of the star patterned designer paper (only adhering at the sides to create a pocket).

Die cut a few stars from the designer paper and navy cardstock, add to the inside and cut a panel of white cardstock for the upper part of the inside to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Old Glory Bundle,  Patriotic Bundle Trio, The Red, White and Blue, Patriotic Sentiments  (Stamp Simply)
