Proud To Be An American

Hi Friends!

For those of you in the United States, I hope you had a great Independence Day!  I am sharing another card designed using the brand new release stamp set, Patriotic Background along with The Red, White & Blue Bundle and Patriotic Sentiments (all from Stamp Simply)

This card is very similar to my last post and once the coloring was finished, it is fairly easy to assemble and relatively flat for mailing.

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock and a piece of light kraft cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the Patriotic Background stamp using Versafine Black Onyx ink and stamp onto one of the panels and repeat the same process with the flag image from The Red, White & Blue Bundle on the other panel.

De-static the lower part of the shield panel, ink the “Happy Independence Day” sentiment from the Patriotic Sentiments stamp set using Versafine Black Onyx ink at the bottom of the background stamped panel.  Apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Apply clear embossing powder to both panels and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, color the background and flag image with water-based markers and watercolor pencils.

Use a gold metallic paint pen to fill in around the shield and stars on the background and the star on the flag pole.

Once you are satisfied with the coloring, de-static the middle area of the background with an embossing powder tool, ink the “Proud to Be An American” sentiment from The Red, White & Blue Bundle with Versafine Black Onyx Ink, stamp onto the prepared area and apply clear embossing powder.

Heat set the embossing powder and once cooled, trim close to the edge of the background perimeter and layer onto a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of white cardstock.

Mount the background panel onto a 4 ⅛”x 5 ⅜”  piece of red cardstock and adhere to a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” white card base.

Die cut the flag image with the coordinating die (also die cutting a second flag image to layer behind the colored image).

Mount the flag onto the card front with dimensional foam.

To finish off the card. add a strip of star designer paper to the inside left hand part of the card base (I like to use up my scraps this way).

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be participating with the Color Throwdown #800 Red, Blue and Kraft Challenge , the Simon Says Wednesday “Stars and/or Stripes” Challenge, the Colorful Options "July 2024 Flags" Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #655-#656 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

Stamp Simply June 2024 Release- Patriotic Background

Hi Friends!

Today, I am sharing another card designed using the brand new release stamp set, Patriotic Background along with Patriotic Sentiments, both from Stamp Simply

As I mentioned in previous posts, I love all of the patriotic stamp sets from Stamp Simply and both of these stamp sets work so well together!

This card was very easy to create and would be perfect for making multiples plus, it is relatively flat for mailing.

To create this card:

For the card front,  ink the Patriotic Background stamp using Versafine Black Onyx ink and stamp onto kraft cardstock.

Stamp the “Happy Independence Day” sentiment from Patriotic Sentiments using Versafine Black Onyx ink.

Color the background stamp images with colored pencils.

Once you are satisfied with the coloring, trim close to the edge of the background perimeter and carefully cut along the lower edge of the shield (just above the bottom layer of stars).

Set the upper layer with the shield aside.

Add a strip of white crochet lace on top of the lower star layer and layer a strip of red seam binding over the top of the lace (wrapping the ends of the seam binding behind the lower star panel).

Adhere the above layered star panel directly onto another piece of kraft cardstock (approx. 3 ¾” x 5 ¼”).

Distress the edges of the kraft panel with a distressing tool (or edge of your scissors) and add Vintage Tea Distress Ink to “antique the paper).

Mount the panel onto a piece of navy cardstock (approx. 4 ⅛” x 5 ¼”)  and adhere to a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” top fold white card base.

Add a strip of the star patterned designer paper on the inside left hand part of the card base.

Adhere the top portion of the Patriotic Background shield and star image with dimensional foam onto the card front (layering just over the red eam binding) to finish off the card.

God Bless the USA

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are enjoying your week!  Today I am sharing a very easy patriotic card using stamps, dies, and paper all from Stamp Simply

When I first received The Fourth of July paper pad, the flag design on this piece of the paper seemed to call out to me to create a simple card so the flag design would show.

To create this card:

Trim the flag patterned piece of designer paper from The Fourth of July 6x6 paper pad to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.

De-static the paper with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment from Patriotic Sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Mount the panel onto white cardstock, trim and mount onto black cardstock before adhering to a white card base.

Add the strip of the remaining piece of the designer paper onto the left hand side of the inner part of the card ( I used the opposite side of the paper).

Die cut the three stars from silver mirror cardstock using the star dies from the Stars & Stripes dies, mount onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

If you have not had a chance to check out the rest of my Sister Design Team cards on the Stamp Simply blog, I hope you will do so- such gorgeous inspiration from all!!

If you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, I hope you will do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4” x 5 ¼” and emboss with the Sizzix 3D Brick Embossing Folder (I inked the interior of the folder with Antique Linen Distress Ink prior to embossing).

Trim the embossed panel to approx. 3 ¾” x 5”, distressing the edges slightly.

Mount onto a piece of red cardstock, distress the edges and mount onto the 4 ¼” x 5 ½” navy panel.

Add the navy seam binding strip, wrapping the ends behind the panel. Adhere the double navy seam binding bow.

Mount the panel onto a white card front.

Ink the sentiments from The Red, White, and Blue stamp set and Patriotic Sentiments stamp set with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto prepared white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the sentiments using Fishtail Sentiment Banners Dies (also die cutting banners from red and navy cardstock).

Distress the sentiment panels with a stencil brush and Antique Linen Distress ink.

Layer the red and navy banners behind the sentiments and mount onto the card front using dimensional foam.

Ink the flag image from The Red, White and Blue with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto white cardstock and heat set the ink with a heat tool.

Watercolor the image with watercolor pencils and water-based markers.

Die cut with the coordinating die and mount onto an additional die cut from plain white cardstock.

I love all things patriotic and absolutely love the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps- Old Glory Bundle, Patriotic Bundle Trio, The Red, White and Blue and Patriotic Sentiments stamp sets/die bundles and used all of them in this card.

I used the
Center Step Gift Card Tutorial at Splitcoaststampers to create the base for this card from navy cardstock. The inside flap has a pocket that you can fit a gift card for the recipient- love this twist on the center step!

If you have not already had a chance to do so, I hope you visit the Stamp Simply blog to see all of the inspiration from the rest of the SS Design Team as well as the other challenge galleries- gorgeous galleries from all!

To create this card:

Create the banners from the Echo Park Let Freedom Ring 6x6 Paper Pad and navy cardstock using the Fishtail Sentiment Banners Dies.

Add the striped designer paper along the front of the step card and adhere the stamped sentiment banner over the edge.

Watercolor the USA flag country image with watercolor pencils, die cut with the coordinating die (also die cut two additional dies from white cardstock), layer behind the colored image and mount onto the card from using dimensional foam.

Add the navy twine bow and red rhinestones, finish off the bow with a red button.

For the inside: Ink the subway background stamp from The Red, White and Blue stamp set with navy ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock.

Trim and add to the inside of the step card, add a strip of the star patterned designer paper (only adhering at the sides to create a pocket).

Die cut a few stars from the designer paper and navy cardstock, add to the inside and cut a panel of white cardstock for the upper part of the inside to finish off the card.
