God Bless The USA

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a center step gift card designed with stamps, dies and supplies from Stamp Simply

I love all things patriotic and absolutely love the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps- Old Glory Bundle, Patriotic Bundle Trio, The Red, White and Blue and Patriotic Sentiments stamp sets/die bundles and used all of them in this card.

I used the
Center Step Gift Card Tutorial at Splitcoaststampers to create the base for this card from navy cardstock. The inside flap has a pocket that you can fit a gift card for the recipient- love this twist on the center step!

If you have not already had a chance to do so, I hope you visit the Stamp Simply blog to see all of the inspiration from the rest of the SS Design Team as well as the other challenge galleries- gorgeous galleries from all!

To create this card:

After you create the base from navy cardstock, emboss a panel of white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Lumber Embossing Folder , trim and adhere to the front of the center step card.

Create the banners from the Echo Park Let Freedom Ring 6x6 Paper Pad and navy cardstock using the Fishtail Sentiment Banners Dies.

Add the striped designer paper along the front of the step card and adhere the stamped sentiment banner over the edge.

Watercolor the USA flag country image with watercolor pencils, die cut with the coordinating die (also die cut two additional dies from white cardstock), layer behind the colored image and mount onto the card from using dimensional foam.

Add the navy twine bow and red rhinestones, finish off the bow with a red button.

For the inside: Ink the subway background stamp from The Red, White and Blue stamp set with navy ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock.

Trim and add to the inside of the step card, add a strip of the star patterned designer paper (only adhering at the sides to create a pocket).

Die cut a few stars from the designer paper and navy cardstock, add to the inside and cut a panel of white cardstock for the upper part of the inside to finish off the card.

By The Seeds You Plant

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a fun card using the Artistic Outpost stamp sets, Seed Packets Background, Harvest and Grunge Elements along with the ODBD Fun and Fancy Folds Z-Fold Card, ODBD Tag Trio Dies and ODBD Blooming Garden Collection 6x6 Paper Pad (all available at Our Daily Bread Designs).

I have also incorporated the Just Add Ink "Just Add 'G'" Challenge in to the design (G=Gardening, Green, Gloves, Grunge Elements, Glitter (hard to see a bit of glitter in the sun rays around the farmer's head).

If you have not had a chance to visit the AO Blog or the Just Add Ink site yet, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from my AO DT Sisters as well as the JAI DT and Gallery!!

To create this card:

Fussy-cut the shovel/planting tools image from the sheet of ODBD Blooming Garden Collection6x6 Paper, layer onto black cardstock and fussy cut close to the edge.

Cut the pieces of the ODBD Blooming Collection 6x6 Paper using the ODBD Fun and Fancy Folds Kraft Z-Fold card as guide, distress the edges of the designer paper with a distressing tool, mount onto black cardstock before adhering each to the Z-Fold card base.

Wrap hemp twine around the space at the bottom of the center fold and add the hemp bow.

Ink the AO Seed Packets Background image as well as the sentiment and the farmer image from ODBD Harvest with ground espresso distress ink and stamp onto sand cardstock.

Watercolor the the AO Seed Packets Background image with crushed pumpkin, peeled paint and wild honey distress inks, die cut with the ODBD Tag Trio Dies (also cutting another tag from black cardstock), split the black tag in half and layer behind the AO Seed Packets Background tag.

Add an antique brad with hemp twine to the tag and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Trim the stamped AO Harvest sentiment and farmer image, mount both onto black cardstock (trimming close to the edges), sponge pumice stone distress ink over all edges (including the card base and tag) and add distressing with the large splatter stamp from AO Grunge Elements with frayed burlap distress ink.

Mount the farmer image along with the sentiment using dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Thanks again for taking the time to visit and I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friends!

HYCCT1414 The Fabric of Friendship

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you in the U.S. had a great Thanksgiving!!  We are truly blessed :-)

It has been a busy month with my husband’s chemo treatments and doctor appointments along with Thanksgiving, so I apologize for not posting these cards sooner :-)

I hoping to be able to finish posting the remaining cards that I created for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge (HYCCT) Card Drive at Splitcoaststampers over the next few weeks- the goal of the card drive is to provide cards to the patients and their guests to send as encouragement, etc. for their personal use.

With that in mind, I tried to find sentiments that I thought could be used for various occasions and tried to limit the layers so they would not have to include additional postage :-)

This card was created for HYCCT1414 berlycece aka Kim’s “It’s Time to Step” Challenge - (see the gallery here and the details here) along with tutorial for the step card that I used from Splitcoaststampers (here)

To create this card:

After cutting the base for the card from Very Vanilla cardstock, I covered the card with Early Espresso cardstock.

Ink the stamp images from the retired Fabric of Friendship stamp set using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and color using Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils along with the AquaPainter™.

Use the Distressing Tool to distress the edges of the dress from and sewing basket images.

Use the smaller images (button and scissors) with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink and stamp over the sentiment- punch the sentiment out using the Note Punch.

Clean and re-ink the sentiment using Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink and stamp around the dress form image to fill in the background.   Ink the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink and stamp repeatedly over all of the images.

Use a Sponge Dauber with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink to distress all of the edges and panels (“antiquing” the paper).

Add the sewing Washi Tape to the side panels and center lower panel as well as the corner of the dress form panel.

Mount the dress form image to the center piece of the step panel and add additional sewing Washi Tape to the corner.

Mount the sewing machine image to piece of Early Espresso cardstock and add to the front of the card.

Mount the punched sentiment image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.   Add the Venetian Crochet Lace with the Vintage Trinket.   Add the button to the tag and lower left corner of the center panel.

Add the White Tea Lace Paper Doily to the sides of the center panel to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Fabric of Friendship, Gorgeous Grunge

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Baked Brown Sugar, Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils

Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso

Accessories: Distressing Tool, Sponge Daubers, White Tea Lace Paper Doily, Washi Tape (non SU!), Vintage Trinkets, retired Night of Navy and Real Red Button, 3/8” Venetian Crochet Lace Trim

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope to post a few more cards over the next few days :-)  Have a great week, my friends!
