When I Need A Friend- Two Challenges in One :-)

Hi Stampers!!

This is one of two cards that I created using this week’s  CQC253 ColourQ Challenge (once I had the colors out, I could not stop - lol!!) .

This card also incorporates The Paper Player’s PP207 “Cute As A Button” Challenge and I hope you will have a chance to visit both sites- lovely Design Teams and great inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge with Summer Starfruit Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.   Add a few more splatters with the smaller splatter stamp using Island Indigo and Early Espresso Classic Ink.

Ink the border stamp using Island Indigo Classic Ink and stamp repeatedly on the background panel (reinking each time before stamping).

Trim and mount onto a piece of Tempting Turquoise, trim again and mount onto the Early Espresso card base.

Stamp the bird, flower and stem images from Choose Happiness with Early Espresso Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the flower using Stampin’ Write markers- Summer Starfruit for the center, Tempting Turquoise and Island Indigo for the petals and darken the shadows using Early Espresso.   Use the Chalk Marker to highlight the petals and center and “fussy-cut” the flower.

Color the stems/leaves using the Island Indigo Stampin’ Write marker and carefully “fussy cut” as well.

Use the Early Espresso marker to darken the bird and “fussy-cut” out the image.

Stamp the sentiment using Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and create the banner using the Hexagon Punch, mount onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock (creating the banner with the Hexagon Punch as well).

Adhere the leaves to the card front and add the flower, bird and sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add a small strip of retired Summer Starfruit cardstock to the center of the Tempting Turquoise button to mimic thread.   Adhere the Tempting Turquoise button to the larger Early Espresso button (I used Hot Glue for this step) and add the layered button to the sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Choose Happiness, Gorgeous Grunge

Ink: Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit (retired) and Tempting Turqouise, Chalk Marker, Stampin’ Write Markers- Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit (retired) and Tempting Turqouise

Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit (retired) and Tempting Turqouise

Accessories: Hexagon Punch, retired Tempting Turquoise and Early Espresso buttons

Thanks again for stopping by- I will share the second card created with this same color challenge shortly.   Hope you have a wonderful weekend and God Bless!
