Hi Stampers!
This week , my husband
and I will be celebrating our 30th Anniversary!! It seems just like yesterday that we met, but then again, it seems like I have known him forever!
I am so thankful that we have the opportunity to be husband and wife
here on earth and that we will spend eternity together in Heaven with the Lord!! He is the best husband ever and very supportive of my stamping :-)
I decided to
create another “bird” card in honor of one of our favorite hobbies, watching
birds :-) We have been blessed to see over 140 species of
birds from our own sunroom and love to scan the tops of the trees with our binoculars
in search of a new species or for the chance to see some of our favorites
return each year.
I decided to use
the beautiful set, Nature Walk along with the CCCMC233 Sketch and the
colors of this week’s Stampin’ Royalty SR157 Color Challenge (I completed the
card too late to join in the SR157 Challenge but love the
color palette). If you have the time, check out
their sites to see all of the amazing entries!
To create this card:
Using Soft Suede
and Crumb Cake Classic Ink, stamp the images onto Very Vanilla cardstock and cut into panels.
Sponge the edges and lightly in the center with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede to “distress”
the images and add more distressing with the Color Spritzer Tool and a Soft
Suede marker.
Mount all of the panels onto Crumb Cake and Soft Suede cardstock and watercolor the egg images using an Aqua
Painter with Not Quite Navy (NQN) Classic Ink.
Use the Big Shot™ with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing
Folder (ink the interior of the folder first with Crumb Cake Classic Ink) to emboss a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Adhere this background onto NQN and Crumb Cake cardstock and then onto the Very Vanilla cardbase.
Add the banner
created from NQN Designer Series Pack (do not look too close- I accidentally
created the banner with the words upside down- oops! :-)) Add the panels using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Add the ½” Very
Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon Bow accented with an Antique Brad and the sentiment
to finish off the card.
I hope my darling husband
does not mind the bow- "real" men like bows, right?

WOW Julie...this is truly STUNNING!!! Love all the details and how you have the banner peeking out from the bottom! Thanks for playing along this week in the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!
Gorgeous card, Julie! Love all the shading and details on here. Happy Anniversary, too! We just celebrated 33 years last September! It's wonderful to have a special man in your life and REAL men DO like bows! Thanks for playing along with the sketch challenge this week on Create with Connie and Mary!
Your card is Gorgeous!!! I NEVER know how to use this set! Love your card!!
This is a lovely masculine card, using one of my favorite stamp sets. Congrats on 30 years together! Create with Connie & Mary.

Congrats on 30 years! WOW!! This card is absolutely gorgeous with all those layers and textures! Thanks for joining us this week at Create with Connie and Mary!
Goodness! So beautiful! WOW! I love seeing your creations! You have such talent...I want to be like you when I grow up! This card is beautiful and I love that you went back and used a stamp set from the catalog that has been "forgotten" with all the new stuff coming out. Thanks for playing the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge this week!
Absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations on your anniversary! We will have 24 years this year for ours. I love these colors and love this stamp set. I spend lots of time in my sunroom watching the birds too. In the spring I usually blog about the birds and their nests, eggs, and babies. I hope to have a busy spring this year as we did a lot of work in our yard in the fall and it should be very bird friendly. I love your card! I'm so glad that you played along with our sketch challenge this week at Create with Connie & Mary!

This card is absolutely stunning! I immediately thought that you had used some sort of patterned paper behind the bee/bird/egg images. I'm truly impressed and in awe to learn that you started with vanilla paper. You are incredibly talented. Thanks for sharing the details for how to attempt one for myself!

Beautiful Card. I may have to case this one for sure!
Julie this is a beautiful card - I love the soft combinations of earthy tones and blue. I have to say that it is one of the nicest cards that I have seen made with Nature's Walk. I have seen hundreds of cards with the bird but very few with the eggs used so perfectly.
Cheers and thanks for sharing, you have a beautiful blog.
