I
found some time to create today and wanted to play with a new stamp set,
Traveler and decided to create a collage style Nautical card for The Card Concept #12 Challenge along with the PPA207 Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge, the STS22 Sketch from Seize the Sketch Challenge and since it is a birthday card, the Seize The Birthday Challenge.
All
of the sites above have such wonderful samples and inspiration- I hope you have
a chance to check them out!
To
create this card:
Use
Night of Navy Classic Ink to stamp the ship and globe images from Traveler as
well as the World Map image onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
Using
the Real Red Stampin’ Write marker, add a bit of color to the ship and use the
Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker to add shadows to all of the images.
Use
the retired Color Spritzer Tool with the Night of Navy Stampin’ Write marker to
add a bit of distressing and stamp the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge
using Sahara Sand Classic Ink.
Use
a Sponge Dauber with Sahara Sand Classic Ink to tone down the Whisper White
cardstock.
Trim
the map panel for the horizontal piece of the sketch and mount onto a piece of
Real Red cardstock and mount onto the card front.
Add
the Real Red strip of cardstock along with two Whisper White pieces (I used
scraps for this- love those scraps :-)).
Use
the Big Shot™ with the Window Frames Collection Framelits™ to cut out the globe
image and the Square Collection Framelits™ for the ship. Cut another Window Frame from Real Red cardstock
to mount behind the globe image and mount the ship onto a piece of Real Red
cardstock, trim to create the frame. Mount both images onto the card front
using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Create
the photo corners using the 1” Square Punch from Real Red cardstock- add to the
corners of the images.
Stamp
the sentiment using Night of Navy Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock,
punch out using the Word Window Punch and add the banner points using the
Banner Punch.
Mount
onto a piece of Real Red cardstock (punched from the Word Window Punch with
banner points created from the Banner Punch) and another piece of Night of Navy
cardstock- layer behind the sentiment.
Distress with the Sponge Dauber and splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge
and add to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Add
the Night of Navy Candy Dots to finish off the card.
Stamp
Sets: Traveler, World Map, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Night
of Navy, Sahara Sand, Stampin’ Write Markers- Sahara Sand, Real Red, Night of
Navy
Paper:
Whisper White, Night of Navy, Real Red
Accessories: Big Shot™, Window Frames Collection and
Square Collection Framelits™, Sponge Dauber, retired Color Spritzer Tool, Candy
Dots, Punches- 1” Square, Banner, Word Window
