ODBDSLC255 In Oceans Deep, My Faith Will Stand

Hello Friends!

Woohoo!!   Today starts off the brand new ODBDSLC255 Shining the Light Photo Inspiration Challenge and I just love all of the gorgeous animals and sea life in this inspirational photo collage!!

I chose the top middle photo for inspiration and used the new stamp set, Deep Waters to create two cards (I was on a roll and could not stop) :-) !!

In both versions, the Deep Waters sea image was stamped with a waterproof ink onto white cardstock and colored using water based markers with a water brush (using a different color palette for each :-)).

Details to finish off the watercolored scene include sparkle shimmer paint for the sand, frost shimmer paint for the shells as well as a white gel pen for some highlights (although it is a bit difficult to see the shimmer in the photos).

ODBD Stamp Sets- Deep Waters, Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies

To finish the first card, cut and emboss the Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies from white cardstock and mount onto a piece of background paper from the new Beautiful Boho Paper Collection, trim and mount onto the dark purple cardstock, trim again and mount onto the green cardstock.

Using the interior die from the Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies, outline around the stamped image lightly with a pencil and fussy cut the focal image, adhere to the white Vintage Flourish Patterns background die cut created in the above steps, add the purple satin ribbon strip along with the triple ribbon bow and mount the entire panel to your card base.

Stamp the Deep Waters sentiment onto white cardstock and cut out with the smallest label die from Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

To create the second card, cut the focal Deep Waters image out with the Spellbinders Labels 18 die (also cutting a piece of rose red cardstock from the same size die), split the rose red die cut piece in half and mount behind the focal image, cut and emboss the Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies background from white cardstock, mount the background onto the sky blue cardstock, trim and mount onto rose red cardstock, trim and mount onto the white card base.

Stamp the Deep Waters sentiment onto white cardstock and cut with the smaller Spellbinders Labels 18 die (again cutting another piece the same size from rose red cardstock, splitting the rose red die cut in half and adhering behind the sentiment) and mount the sentiment with dimensional foam.

Add the rose red seam binding bow to finish off the card.

I absolutely love designing alongside the talented ODBD Design Team and hope you will check out my DT sisters:

OK, now I could use your help :-)   I do like the deep purple along with the blue green on the first one, but also like the crisp white on the second- so I need help deciding, which card do you prefer?

Love both of your cards - especially those perfect bows! This stamp set looks like so much fun to color because you did a great job. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Well, that is too hard to decide!! I love them both but I like different things about each one. On the first one I love your greenish bg paper under the flourish pattern because it just looks so under the sea water and coral or something and on the second one I love your bright red bow at an angle. But both are just gorgeous Julie!
I love having you here with us! You are amazing my friend!

Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful, Julie! The second I saw your sentiment the song "Oceans" by Hillsong came to my mind. If you haven't heard it, search it out on YouTube. It's one of my daughter's favorite songs. Blessings to you, Friend. You are such an inspiration through your creativity and faith!

Oh, Julie, it's such a joy to see you guest designing for ODBD. You are doing a great job, and I absolutely love both cards and the wonderful sentiment - so precious that God has us in His hands. Wonderfully color images too and great color palettes. I couldn't choose, because I love them both for different reasons. Hugs!
