Hi
Friends!
I
had a chance to create another card this past week using the January release
stamp sets from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps- Scene Silhouettes: Wetlands and Scene Silhouettes: Wetland Grass along with the previously released stamp sets, Faith
and Scene Silhouettes: Tall Grass.
I incorporated
the Hand Stamped Sentiments #280 Sketch Challenge, the Deep Ocean Challenge #172“Something New” (both of the new January sets are "new" to me this month) and the Tuesday Throwdown #374 “Layer It Up” Challenge.
If
you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration
from all!
To
create this card:
1).
Die cut a square piece of white cardstock using a stitched square die. Use a sponge dauber to apply distress oxide ink
for the background (I applied Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry, lightly spritz
with water and dry with a heat tool.
2).
De-static the panel with an embossing powder tool, stamp the cattail image from
Scene Silhouettes: Wetland Grass with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, apply clear
embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool. Once the embossing has cooled,
ink the same stamp again with black soot distress ink, offset and stamp onto
the panel. Ink the Scene Silhouettes:Tall Grass with hickory smoke distress ink and stamp over the background as
well.
3).
Ink the bird images from Scene Silhouettes: Wetlands with Versafine™ Onyx Black
Ink, heat emboss with clear embossing powder and once the embossing has cooled,
fussy-cut the images.
4).
Ink the sentiment from Faith using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink onto a piece of
white cardstock, heat emboss with clear embossing powder and once the embossing
has cooled, die cut with a banner die.
Mount onto a piece of black cardstock and trim close to the edge.
5).
Trim a piece of designer paper approx.. 4” x 5 ¼”, emboss with a lattice
embossing folder, mount onto a piece of white cardstock, and adhere to the
black card front. Mount the entire panel
to the white card base.
6).
Die cut a piece of designer paper with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto a
piece of black cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount onto the card front
with dimensional foam.
7).
Add the sentiment banner, cattail image panel along with the small banner to
the raised panel. Mount the two fussy-cut birds along with a few sequins to
finish off the card.

So, so cool! I love that you used the old lattice embossing folder! I recognized the texture right away. Man, I wish they wouldn't retire that good old stuff! The images and sentiment you used are a beautiful combo! Thanks for playing with us at HSS!
