TCC143 Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the  #143 {Give Thanks} Challenge at The Card Concept!

I love the Thanksgiving holiday with all of the yummy food plus family/fellowship and this table setting looks so inviting, doesn’t it?

I was inspired by the overall theme as well as the colors to create a Shabby and Vintage Thanksgiving card!

I pulled out one of my long ago retired Stampin’ Up! sets, Grand Cornucopia and paired the main image with a retired Verve stamp set, Autumn Blessings for the sentiment (this is the first time I was able to use the Verve sentiment).

As many of you know that follow my blog, I have a personal goal of creating a card for each of the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenges and this card was designed using the SC824 Sketch for the layout.

I am also participating with the Tic-Tac-Toe #088 Challenge  (left column down- Thanksgiving, Autumn, Rust as well as diagonal- Thanksgiving, Any Color, Free) .

If you have not had a chance to visit The Card Concept or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

The main focal image was stamped with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink onto white cardstock and colored with water-based markers.  The paper was “aged” with distress ink before die-cutting with a stitched oval die.

The  woodgrain designer paper is from the Studio Light Wonderful Autumn paper pad (available at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) and the paper used for the banner is from the retired Soho Subway from Stampin' Up!

The polished hemp twine along with the pumpkin button were from my stash and an extra fine white paint pen plus a clear glitter pen were used for highlights to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Grand Cornucopia (retired Stampin’ Up!), Autumn Blessings (retired Verve Stamps)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black; Tim Holtz  Antique Linen Distress Oxide; various Arteza and Stampin’ Write Markers- Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede; Wink of Stella™ Clear Glitter Pen, Sharpie® Extra Fine White Paint Pen

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Studio Light Wonderful Autumn paper pad, Soho Subway Designer Series Paper (retired Stampin’ Up!)

Tools/Accessories: Gemini, Jr™, My Favorite Things™ Dies- Stitched Rectangle A2 STAX Set 1, Stitched Oval STAX,  Fishtail Banner STAX; AquaPainter™, Heat Tool, Distressing Tool, from my stash:Polished Hemp Twine, Pumpkin Pie button

Thanks again for taking the time to visit!  I hope you can find the time to create a card based on our {Give Thanks } photo and link up to our gallery at The Card Concept- we would love to see what inspired you! The challenge is open until November 16th  at noon EST.
