To Everything There Is A Season

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing my quick sunflower card that was created using the Sunflower Season Bundle along with the Tim Holtz Flourish Layering Stencil and a few other items from Stamp Simply.  Plus, we are so excited to announce the new Stamp Simply store site!

Check out the NEW STAMP SIMPLY here.

Feel free to shop the original Stamp Simply Ribbon Store as well where we carry Spellbinders dies at reduced prices, cut yardage of ribbon and so much more.

Both stores are open for your shopping pleasure!

Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers and I am linking this card to The Flower Challenge #56 "Use Your Favourite Flower" Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #491-#492 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Stamp Simply blog or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Using Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, stamp the sunflower image onto white cardstock and heat set with a heat tool.

Watercolor with water-based markers and once satisfied with the coloring, die cut with the coordinating die.

Die cut two additional sunflowers from white cardstock and adhere both behind the colored die cut sunflower image.

On another piece of white cardstock, use a stencil brush to apply Tim Holtz™ Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink over the whole panel and using a stencil brush with the TimHoltz™ Flourish Layering Stencil, apply Tim Holtz™ Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink (moving the stencil as needed to cover the panel).

Lightly spritz the stenciled panel with water and dry with a heat tool.

De-static the panel with an embossing powder tool, stamp the sentiment from Sunflower Season at the top left and bottom right with Versafine™ OnyxBlack ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, tear the upper right and lower left-hand corners of the panel, distressing the torn edges.

Emboss another piece of white cardstock with the Darice Wire Fence embossing folder, trim and mount the torn sentiment panel on top of the embossed panel.

Trim the panel and adhere to a piece of teal cardstock.

Add the strips of Natural Burlap String along with a looped bow to the top of the panel (wrapping the ends of the string behind the panel) before mounting the entire card front onto a white card base.

Using dimensional foam (or chipboard), mount the sunflower image to the card front.

Use a clear glitter marker to add shimmer to the center of the sunflower and finish off with a few Nuvo™ Morning Dew Jewel Drops.

Beautiful card Julie! Your softened background is so pretty. What a great idea to spritz the stenciling to give it a dreamy look. Your sunflower looks so pretty against the blue. Wonderful watercolouring! Thanks for joining us at The Flower Challenge!
