Merry & Bright - Miracle of Christmas

Hi Friends!

This evening I will be sharing a few more Christmas cards using the Our Daily Bread Designs Merry & Bright Clear Stamp Set from the November 2016 Release.

This card also incorporates the ODBD November 2016 Release coordinating ODBD Christmas Lights Dies, ODBDSnow Crystals Dies and ODBD Holly Jolly Collection 6x6 Paper Pad along with previously released ODBD Dies.

If you have not had a chance to visit the ODBD Blog or the other challenge sites yet, I would encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Trim a piece of the plaid pattern paper from the ODBD Holly Jolly Collection 6x6Paper Pad, mount onto a piece of white cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of green cardstock.

Add the horizontal strip of green cardstock along with the 3/8” red taffeta ribbon (wrap the ends of the ribbon behind the panel) and mount onto the white card base.

Ink the sentiment from ODBD Merry & Bright Clear Stamp Set with a green and cherry marker, “huff” onto the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock.

Die cut and emboss the sentiment with the ODBD Layered Lacey Square Dies and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Ink the string of Christmas lights image from the ODBD Merry & Bright Clear Stamp Set with black archival ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock and die cut/emboss with the ODBD Christmas Lights Dies.

Use water-based markers to color the Christmas lights and add white highlights with an extra fine white paint pen.

Die cut and emboss a few of the snowflakes from white cardstock using the ODBD Snow Crystals Dies and mount the snowflakes along with the Christmas lights onto the front of the card.

Die cut several pine branches and foliage from green cardstock with the ODBD Lovely Leaves Dies, add to the left hand upper corner of the card and add the red taffeta ribbon bow.

Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the snowflakes and add rhinestones to the snowflake centers to finish off the card.

Thanks again for taking the time to visit!  I am having so much fun creating Christmas cards but will need to take a break from designing and get busy mailing them out soon (or they will not arrive on time)...
hugs and have a fabulous week, my friends!

Mixed Media Christmas- Winter Walk with Snow Crystals

Hi Friends!

I had a chance to design another Christmas card and decided to use the Artistic Outpost (AO) stamp sets Winter Walk, Sleigh Ride and Grunge Elements along with the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Snow Crystal Dies, ODBD Filigree Frame Dies and ODBD Christmas Collection 2013 6x6 Paper Pad.

I love this vintage Winter Walk image from Artistic Outpost and decided to play around with the Cracked Glass Technique :-)

I am linking this card to the Merry Monday #221 Winter Activity Challenge ( a fun winter walk with her dog :-)) along with the Cuttlebug  Mania 11/01/16 Tic Tac Toe Challenge (Embossing, Animal, Ribbon).

If you have not had a chance to visit The Artistic Outpost Blog or the other two challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- great inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Trim two patterned pieces of paper from the ODBD Christmas Collection 2013 6x6 Paper Pad, mount onto espresso cardstock, add the taffeta ribbon and adhere to the cherry card base.

Ink the AO Grunge Elements corner splatter image with vintage photo distress ink and stamp around the edge of the taupe background panel.

Ink the AO Winter Walk stamp image with hickory smoke distress ink, stamp onto white cardstock, color the image with water based markers and stamp again over the same panel, re-applying color as needed to build up the scene.

Trim the colored panel, de-static with an embossing static tool, apply embossing ink and glossy glaze embossing powder, heat set and continue to build two more layers of the embossing powder.

Once the embossing has cooled, place the panel in the freezer for a few minutes, remove and gently crack the paper.

Apply vintage photo distress ink over the cracked panel, wipe off the excess and mount onto espresso cardstock.

Stamp the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the AO Sleigh Ride stamp set with cherry ink onto white cardstock, trim and mount onto espresso cardstock (creating banner points in both by hand), add a bit of distressing with the large splatter stamp from AO Grunge Elements and hickory smoke distress ink, age the paper with antique linen distress ink and mount at the very bottom of the cracked glass panel.

Die cut and emboss a piece of espresso cardstock with the largest die from the ODBD Filigree FramesDies, mount the AO Winter Walk cracked glass focal image onto the die cut frame (I did have to split the die cut frame at the bottom so I could spread out the frame a bit to allow the bottom scroll portion to show – so now you know :-)) and mount the panel onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Die cut and emboss the snowflakes from white and cherry cardstock with the ODBD Snow Crystals  Dies, apply antique linen distress ink to age the white cardstock and mount onto the card front.

To finish off the card, add a bit of shimmer to the snowflakes with a clear glitter pen and adhere pearls to the snowflake centers as well as the corners of the card.

I think the Cracked Glass Technique works well with this image, what do you think?

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs to all of you!
