Faith Makes the Impossible Possible

Hi Sweet Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week! I had a chance to play with a few of Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps new January release stamp sets and created quite a few cards!

Several of the stamp sets are silhouettes which are perfect for scenes for so many occasions as well as masculine cards- paired with a sentiment stamp set and you have endless possibilities!

I will be sharing the cards in separate posts plus this month Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps is offering the Scene Silhouettes: Wetlands stamp set free with any $60 order!! The stamp set is not available for purchase yet but will be in February but what a fabulous gift for the month of January!!

My first card features the Scene Silhouettes: Wetlands stamp set along with the Scene Silhouettes: Wetland Grass and Faith and since I love to play along with online challenges, I incorporated the Atlantic Hearts #245 Sketch, the INKSpirational #151 “Stamping Only” Challenge and the "Simon Says: Something New” Monday Challenge into the design.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Using Distress Inks, apply the ink to a silicone craft mat, lightly spritz with water and press a piece of white cardstock into the ink.  Lift up and repeat the process until you are satisfied with the result.  Trim the panel to 3” x 3”.

2). Once the panel has dried, de-static the paper with an embossing powder tool, ink and stamp the images from Scene Silhouettes: Wetlands and the Scene Silhouettes: Wetland Grass stamp sets with an archival black ink onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with the heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, re-ink the cattails from Scene Silhouettes: Wetland Grass with black distress ink and stamp over the embossed images. Use a Sharpie® Extra Fine White Paint Pen to add water ripples below the fish image.

3). Ink the sentiment from Faith with archival black ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with the heat tool.  Trim the panel, mount onto black cardstock.

4). Cut the scene panel into three 1” sections and re-cut each section again so you have nine 1” pieces.  Mount the pieces onto the card front with dimensional foam.

5). Stamp the duck image from Scene Silhouettes: Wetlands with archival black ink onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder, heat set with a heat tool.  Once cooled, fussy cut the image and add to the card front.

6). Finish off the card with crystal jewel drops.

Faith is the Substance of Things Hoped For...

Hi Friends!  I am having fun this week designing with new release stamps and today I am showcasing the brand new Scribble Flowers ClearStamp Set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.

I paired this fun floral stamp set with the previously released Faith Clear Stamp Set for a quick Clean and Simple (CAS) card.

I have linked this card to a few challenges as well- the Addicted to Stamps and More Photo Inspiration #205 "Do What You Love" (I love Scripture and this card also uses a fun technique, Emboss Resist which I love:-)) and the Just Add Ink JAI323 "Just Add F" Challenge (F= Faith).

To create this card:

Ink the large branch from ScribbleFlowers with Versamark™ ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, color with a water-based marker, spritz lightly with water and wipe the excess ink off with a paper towel.

Stamp the sentiment from the Faith Clear Stamp Set with the same color ink as the marker, trim the panel and mount onto coordinating cardstock.

Add the silver cord bow and rhinestones to finish off the card.
Quick and easy- perfect for a note of encouragement!

The new Scribble Flowers Clear Stamp Set will be released later today along with a bundle including a large set of dies (the bundle is available for a limited time)- I think that you will be surprised at the versatility of this set- I know I am :-)

Thanks again for visiting- I hope you have a blessed weekend, my friends!

CAS Wild Thing - A Quick Mixed Media Card

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far!! I am having fun creating Clean and Simple (CAS) Mixed Media cards this week and designed this card using  LeAnne's PP295 “CAS Wild Thing” Challenge at The Paper Players as well as the Splitcoaststampers’ CC583 Color Challenge and the Freshly Made  Sketches FMS237 Sketch Challenge.

This card shows a few combination of colors that you can achieve with using just three colors.  Even though two of the colors in the challenge are on the bright side, I love the orange and purple that resulted from the blending :-)

If you have not already visited the above sites, I hope you will find the time to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Using Sponge Daubers, apply So Saffron Classic Ink to the top of a piece of Whisper White cardstock, then apply Melon Mambo Classic Ink to the center (blending with the So Saffron) and Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink at the bottom (blending with the Melon Mambo).

Trim the panel and stamp the Landscape Silhouettes image and the sentiment from Faith (both Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps) using My Favorite Things (MFT) Steel Grey Ink.

Ink the image from Landscape Silhouettes with MFT Steel Grey Ink and stamp onto a piece of acetate (I used a clear envelope), then press the acetate in position below the stamped image on the panel to create the shadows.

Darken any areas necessary with a Faber-Castell® Black Pitt Pen Marker.

Blend the ink (before it dries) a bit with an AquaPainter™ and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Apply Clear Wink of Stella® over the water area, trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Trim the panel once more and mount onto the Extra Thick Whisper White card base to finish off the card.

That's it- another quick and easy card!
