SUO172 In The Meadow Sympathy

Hi Friends!

Unfortunately I never seem to have enough sympathy cards on hand so I decided to create one for my stash using In the Meadow and Rose Wonder.

The retired list for Stampin’ Up! was just released and In The Meadow will be retiring- I love this set with the images of the deer, mountains and trees.  Perfect for so many types of cards so if you do not have this set yet, now would be the time to order before it retires:-)

I love to play along with online challenges so I incorporated the Splitcoaststampers’ SC638 Sketch Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday#276-277 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to stop by the SU-Only Challenge site to check out the rest of the Design Team projects or the other challenge sites, I hope you will do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Heat emboss the sentiment from Rose Wonder using Stampin’ Emboss White Embossing Powder , trim and use the retired Hexagon Punch to create the flag points (or by hand).

2). Ink and stamp the deer image from In The Meadow using Stampin’ Archival Basic Black ink, set the ink with the heat tool and watercolor using the AquaPainter™ along with ink from Tip Top Taupe, Soft Suede, Old Olive and Pool Party Classic Ink Pads and Stampin’ Write Markers.

3). Die cut the image with the Stitched Framelits™, mount onto Basic Black cardstock and trim close to the edge.

4). Cut a piece of the patterned paper from the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack using the Layering Squares Framelits™ ,  mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim close to the edge.

5). Emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and mount the entire panel onto the Extra Thick Whisper White card base.

6). Add a strip of Old Olive and Basic Black cardstock for the vertical panels.

7). Add the layered DSP panel along with leaves die cut from Old Olive cardstock using the leaf die from the Flourish Thinlits™, mount the deer image and the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals® .

8). Add white highlights to the fawn image using the White Gel Pen.

SUO157 With Sympathy

Hi Friends!

I love most types of weather (I am not too fond of hurricanes or tornadoes) and decided to try to depict a cloudy day using images from In the Meadow along with a sentiment from Rose Wonder.

I also incorporated the Splitcoaststamper’s CAS394 “One with Nature” Challenge into the design.

I hope you will stop by the SU-Only Challenge site to check out the rest of the Design Team projects as well as the SCS gallery- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the deer image from In the Meadow with Basic Black Archival Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Also stamp the image onto a piece of scrap paper, fussy-cut the image and use this as a mask.

Mask the deer and stamp the mountains in the background (also stamp the mountains onto scrap paper and create a mask).

Mask the mountains and stamp the mountain image again, repeating to build up the mountain range.

Stamp the tree image along with the grass and flowers in the corner.

Use an AquaPainter™ with ink from the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Marker to watercolor the sky (I usually scribble the marker onto an acrylic block or craft mat and pick up the ink with the AquaPainter™).

Use Marina Mist for the mountains, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi for the meadow and grass, Tip Top Taupe for the deer.

Use the actual markers to define the areas and add shadows.

De-static the panel with the Embossing Buddy®, ink the sentiment from Rose Wonder with Versamark™, stamp onto the panel and heat emboss with Stampin’ Emboss® Gold Embossing Powder.

Trim the panel and mount onto Whisper White cardstock, trim again and mount onto Soft Suede cardstock, trim once more and mount onto the Extra Thick Whisper White card base.

To finish off the card, add the white highlights to the fawn and flowers with the White Gel Pen and use the Clear Wink of Stella® marker to add shimmer to the mountains.

Stamp Sets:  In The Meadow, Rose Wonder

Ink: Stampin’ Archival Pad™- Basic Black, Stampin’ Write Markers-Smoky Slate, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango, Tip Top Taupe, Soft Suede; White Gel Pen, Clear Wink of Stella®

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Soft Suede, Extra Thick Whisper White

Tools/Accessories: AquaPainter™. Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

I hope this card has inspired you to pull out your Stampin’ Up! products and come join us in the SU-Only“Any Kind of Weather” Challenge :-)

SUO139 In the Meadow Birthday Greetings

Hi Friends!

It’s time for the SUO139 “Cards in Wintertime” Challenge and I decided to create another card using the new Occasions Mini set, In the Meadow along with the sentiment from Rose Wonder.

To me, Wintertime is a time of watching wildlife- from the gorgeous deer in the fields and birds at the feeders.  I just love this new stamp set and how you can mask the images to create different scenes.

I have also incorporated the Paper Craft Crew PCCC175Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge (Deer, Winter, Watercolor) along with the SU-Per Challenges #118  Sketch.

I hope you will have a chance to check out my sister Design Team member samples at the SU-Only Challenge site as well as the fantastic Design Team samples at the both the Paper Craft Crew and Su-Per Challenges sites- wonderful inspiration from all!

This card was fairly simple to create- create a mask for the snow bank and stamp the deer image onto Whisper White cardstock, create a mask for the deer image and stamp the mountains along with the pine trees (from Lovely As A Tree).

Color the image with an AquaPainter™ using ink from Stampin’ Write markers, cut the image out with the Circle Framelits™ and mount onto another circle cut from Tip Top Taupe.

Create the banner from Going Places DSP using the Banner Framelits™ (also cutting the same size banner from Tip Top Taupe cardstock).

Emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto Tip Top Taupe cardstock, trim and mound onto the Basic Black card base.

Adhere the layered banner directly to the embossed panel on the card front and mount the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the sentiment banner along with the Natural Linen Thread bow and Antique Brad to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  In The Meadow, Lovely As A Tree, Rose Wonder

Ink:  Stāz-On® Jet Black, Stampin’ Write Markers-Tip Top Taupe, Marina Mist, Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow and Sahara Sand
Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Tip Top Taupe; Going Places DSP
Accessories: Big Shot™, Softly Falling Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Hexagon Punch, Natural Linen Thread, Antique Brads, AquaPainter™, scrap paper for masking
Thanks again for stopping by and we hope to see your Stampin’ Up! Only project in our “Cards in Wintertime” Challengegallery!

In The Meadow- Happy Birthday!

Hi Friends!

As we approach the New Year's Eve celebration here on the East Coast, I just want to take a moment to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!

While 2015 has been a year of "testing" for my hubby and I, the Lord has been faithful and has answered many prayers!  We are so blessed and may the Lord richly bless you in 2016!

This past week, my hubby celebrated his birthday so I decided to create a card using the new stamp set, In the Meadow (from the upcoming Occasions Mini) :-)

I also incorporated the Pals Paper Arts PPA281 Sketch Challenge in my design as well as the Tuesday Morning Sketches #332 "Anything Goes" Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above sites yet, I encourage you to do so- they both have very talented Design Teams and fabulous inspiration in their galleries as well!

To celebrate his special day, we were able to take a spontaneuos trip trip to Skyline Drive (if you know us, spontaneity is not a common thing- lol!)  and even though it was cloudy with a bit of rain, we still thoroughly enjoyed the vistas and scenery.

We absolutely love the serenity of the park and were able to see a few deer- trust me, they blended in so well with the fallen leaves, we were lucky to see them at all :-)  We were disappointed that we did not see any bears but they were either staying out of the drizzling rain or could already be hibernating :-)

This is a fairly simple card to create:

Ink the deer image from In The Meadow using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock  (also stamp another image onto a piece of sticky note paper for a mask).

Mask the deer image and stamp the mountains and tree with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink.

Use an AquaPainter™ with Tip Top Taupe and Soft Suede Classic Ink to color the deer, Smoky Slate Classic Ink for the mountains and Mossy Meadow Classic Ink for the grass, tree and mountains.

Add additional detail with Stampin’ Write Markers in the same colors and use the Sahara Sand marker for shadows.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Circle Framelits™ to cut out the image and cut out another circle the same size from Soft Suede cardstock, layering the cardstock circle behind the focal image and set aside.

Trim a piece of Going Places Designer Series Paper (DSP), emboss with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and mount onto a piece of Soft Suede cardstock.

Emboss a piece of Tip Top Taupe cardstock with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Soft Suede cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Trim the end off of the layered focal image and mount onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Stamp the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and create the banner with the Banner Punch, mount onto Soft Suede cardstock (again creating the banner points with the Banner Punch).

Mount the sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  In the Meadow, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black,  Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede, Tip Top Taupe; Stampin’ Write Markers- Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede, Tip Top Taupe, Sahara Sand

Paper: Whisper White, Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede, Tip Top Taupe; Going Places DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Circle Framelits™, Banner Punch, AquaPainter™
