SUO102 Favorite New Toys along with the PPA213 Sketch :-)

Hi Stampers!

Time for the new SU-Only Challenges SUO102 Favorite New Toys Challenge along with the Pals Paper Arts PPA213 Sketch- again, such a great gallery and Design Team at The Pals Paper Arts!

For the SU-Only SUO102 Challenge, ww are encouraging you to create a new project using your favorite Stampin’ Up! products from the new catalog!  My favorite new toy (other than all of the fabulous new stamp sets) is our Stampin’ Blendabilities™- love the blending of these colors!!

I normally shy away from the "cute" images since I never know exactly what to do with them but I love the "critters" in Life in the Forest and could not resist this set for my collection :-)

I hope that you will check out the rest of the Design Team projects and share with us your "favorite" new toy using your Stampin’ Up! Only creations!

To create this card:
Ink the images from Life in the Forest and Choose Happiness using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.
Color the images using the Stampin’ Blendabilities™ Collections- Smokly Slate, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Crumb Cake.   Use the Stampin’ Write Basic Black marker on the raccoon
Hand-cut (“fussy cut”) each image (except for the trees) and trim around the trees to create a rectangle for the parts of the sketch.
On the tree image rectangles, sketch a grass line using the  Stampin’ Write Basic Black marker and color the sky using the light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blendabilities™ marker and the grass using the light Old Olive Stampin’ Blendabilities™ marker.
Trim around the sentiment and color using the light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blendabilities™ marker.
Color the woodgrain stamped image from Choose Happiness using the Blush Neutral and Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blendabilities™ markers.
Mount the tree images, the woodgrain and the sentiment onto Basic Black cardstock, trim and mount again onto Whisper White cardstock.
Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Basic Black cardstock using the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and mount onto the Whisper White cardstock base.
Add the tree images to the upper and lower corner of the card (per the sketch) and adhere the stacked animal images.
Layer the woodgrain stamped image square and sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Add the Natural Linen Thread bow along with the retired Naturals Button to finish off the card.

Thinking of You- Life in the Forest :-)

Hi Stampers!

I love the combination of colors in this week’s ColourQ CQC244 Challenge and decided to combine it with the FMS139 Freshly Made SketchChallenge.   The colors are so fresh and summery, I decided to create a little scene with the new stamp set, Life in the Forest:-)

I hope you have had a chance to visit both of the challenge sites- again, great inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Arrows Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and add the banner strips per the sketch-created from retired Designer Series Paper (DSP) and mounted onto Night of Navy cardstock.

Mount the panel onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, trim and mount again onto Tangerine Tango cardstock and adhere to the Night of Navy card base.

Create a tag from Whisper White cardstock using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and layer onto another tag created from Night of Navy cardstock, rounding the corners using the Envelope Punch Board.

Punch a smaller piece of retired Bashful Blue DSP using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and adhere to the tag.

Create the "grassy" area using scraps of Old Olive cardstock (embossed using the Big Shot™ and the retired Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and hand torn), round the corners using the Envelope Punch Board and adhere to the lower part of the tag only applying adhesive to the bottom portion of the “grass” .

Stamp the fox and trees from Life in the Forest using Tuxedo Memento™ Black onto Whisper White cardstock and color using Stampin’ Write markers and Stampin’ Blendabilities™ (Stampin’ Write Tangerine Tango for the fox, followed by the Medium Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities™ and the Old Olive Blendabilities™ for the trees).

“Fussy cut” out each image and arrange a few trees (tucking the trunks under the “grass”) using adhesive and mount the remaining trees and fox using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add a piece of retired 3/8” Tangerine Tango Dotted Scallop Ribbon to the tag and tie Natural Linen Thread around the ribbon with a bow.

Mount the tag to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the sentiment to finish off the card.

Foxy Friend- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I had another opportunity to stamp today (yea!)  and decided to create a card using the new set, Life in the Forest, along with the PPA187 Colors from Pals Paper Arts and the FMS118 Sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

I do hope that you have had a chance to visit both sites- great ideas and inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Using Basic Black Classic Ink, stamp the fox image onto Whisper White cardstock and color using Stampin’ Write Markers in Real Red and Sahara Sand.  “Fussy-cut” the image out by hand.

Cut a square piece of Soft Sky cardstock and stamp the tree image using Basic Black Classic Ink.  Color with the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker and add the torn snow banks (Whisper White cardstock torn by hand and layered over the foreground area).

Adhere the fox image and create a few shadows and highlights on the snow with the Sahara Sand and Soft Sky Stampin’ Write markers.

Add the snowflakes using the Chalk Marker, trim the image and mount onto a piece of Real Red cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment using Real Red onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Add the horizontal panel of Soft Sky cardstock (layered onto Real Red strips) and adhere the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

To finish off the card, mount the entire panel onto the Real Red card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Stamp Sets: Life in the Forest, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Classic Ink Pads- Basic Black, Real Red, Chalk Marker,  Stampin’ Write Markers- Real Red, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand

Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Soft Sky

Accessories: none

Thanks again for stopping by!  I know this style is a bit unusual for me but I am looking forward to creating a few more cards with the new stamp set, Life in the Forest- it has the cutest animal images :-) !
