Give Thanks Pumpkin Wreath

Hi Friends!

I wanted to create another card for The Card Concept #210 Pumpkin Season Challenge and decided to pull out two older (but still current) stamp sets-Seasonal Wreaths-Fall/Winter Bundle along with the Welcome Fall stamp set, Carta Bella Welcome Autumn 6x6 Paper Pad, two 3D embossing folders, lace trim, and other supplies (all from Stamp Simply)!

I also enjoy playing along with other online challenges and incorporated the Freshly Made Sketches #657 Sketch for the layout and am also playing along with the Retro Rubber Challenge #241 Tic-Tac-Toe (far left down Die Cut-Tag-Pumpkin) and the Simon Says Monday “Use Patterned Paper”.

One of the requirements of the Retro Rubber Challenge is to use stamp sets that are at least a year old or older.  Both sets used in this card are several years old, but perfect for fall and Christmas cards!

If you have not had a chance to check out the rest of my Sister Design Team cards on the Stamp Simply blog, or the other challenge sites yet, I hope you take the time to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Emboss a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” white cardstock with the 3D Foliage Texture Fades embossing folder, mount onto a piece of pumpkin cardstock.

Adhere the entire card front panel to a white card base.

Trim a piece of the Welcome Autumn 6x6 paper to approx. 4” square, then trim on an angle (per the sketch). Adhere to the foliage embossed card front.

Add a scrap piece of the same paper onto the interior left-hand side of the card base (I like to do this to use up my scraps).

Adhere a strip of the scalloped loop trim over the cut edge of the patterned paper.

Die cut the tag from a piece of white cardstock and emboss with the 3D Intertwine embossing folder.

Add the sage green twill ribbon with the baker’s twine bow at the top of the tag.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the wreath image with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the wreath with the coordinating die (I also layered the image onto another die cut from white cardstock to give it more stability).

Ink the pumpkin image from the Seasonal Wreaths- Fall/Winter with Versafine Black Onyx ink onto another piece of white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Watercolor the pumpkin image with distress inks and die cut with the coordinating die (I also layered this one onto another die cut from white cardstock).

De-static a piece of suede cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the sentiment from Welcome Fall with Versamark ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the sentiment panel with the Fishtail Sentiment Banners die, tuck under the wreath image, layer the die cut pumpkin image and mount the entire wreath onto the tag.

Adhere the tag to the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Layer a strip of sage green twill ribbon to the card front, wrapping the ends behind the panel.

Give Thanks

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Stamp Simply Design Team have been sharing Autumn/Fall cards.

I love fall, especially here in the Mid-Atlantic area!  The crisp, cool air and the colors of the foliage are two of favorite things in the fall!

I decided to pair the Seasonal Wreaths- Fall and Winter Bundle along with the Autumn Silhouettes stamp sets with scraps of Carta Bella Welcome Autumn 6x6 paper and a 3D Brick Embossing Folder (all from Stamp Simply) to create this fun card.

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges.  This card was created for the Tic-Tac-Toe #227 “Featured Designer Roseanne” Challenge (far right column down- Twine, Embossing, Designer Paper) and the Word Art Wednesday #613-#614 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, or the Tic-Tac-Toe and Word Art Wednesday challenge sites, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Emboss a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Texture Fades A6 Brick Embossing Folder.

Trim the panel to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.  Tear and distress the corners.

Mount the pieces of Carta Bella Welcome Autumn paper to the areas behind the torn edges of the brick texture embossed panel (FYI- I used scraps from a previous project- I hate to waste designer paper, lol!)

Trim the entire panel to approx. 4” x 5 ¼” and distress with a distressing tool.

Layer the strip of white pleated ribbon and add the kraft baker’s twine over the ribbon, wrapping the ends behind the panel.

Mount onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock and adhere to a white card base.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the verse sentiment stamp from Autumn Silhouettes with Versafine Onyx Black, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Repeat the same process as above with the wreath and pumpkin images from the Seasonal Wreaths- Fall and Winter Bundle.

Watercolor the pumpkin image with water-based markers and die-cut the wreath and pumpkin images with the coordinating dies.

Cut the sentiment layer (by hand) to fit within the wreath (I put the wreath die cut over the sentiment layer, used a pencil to lightly trace the inner part of the wreath, then cut around about ½” larger so I could mount behind the wreath). Layer the pumpkin image onto the wreath so you have one unit to mount onto the card.

To finish off the card, mount the wreath/sentiment layer onto the card front using dimensional foam.

Stamp Sets:  Seasonal Wreaths- Fall and Winter Bundle, Autumn Silhouettes (Stamp Simply)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Pumpkin Pie. Tangerine Tango, Soft Suede, Wild Wasabi

Cardstock/Paper: White,  Black, Carta Bella Welcome Autumn 6x6

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Seasonal Wreaths- Fall and Winter Bundle, Sizzix 3D Texture Fades A6 Brickwork Embossing Folder,  Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Distressing Tool, May Arts Vintage Sampler- Pink and White with Rosettes (I used the Pleated White Ribbon), May Arts Bakers Twine- 110 yd spool- kraft

I hope I have inspired you to create a card this week! Also, don’t miss out on the current specials (including these wonderful surprise boxes) at Stamp Simply!

Peace, Goodwill to Men

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a blessed week so far! Today I am sharing another fairly quick Christmas card using stamps, dies and other supplies all from Stamp Simply!

I love the fonts on the Christmas Peace stamp set and combined the poinsettia image from the Floral Clusters Winter Poinsettia with the wreath image from the Seasonal Wreaths-Fall/Winter along with lace and an embossed background.

To create this card:

Emboss a piece of cream cardstock using the Darice Wire Fence Embossing Folder, trim the embossed panel and mount onto a piece of Luxury Pearlescent Gold Metallic Cardstock.

Adhere the panel to a white card base.

Adhere a piece of the 1.75” Valentina Ivory Lace to the front.

De-static two additional pieces of cream cardstock with an embossing powder tool.

Ink the poinsettia image from the Floral Clusters Winter Poinsettia stamp set and the wreath image from the Seasonal Wreaths – Fall/Winter with Versamark ink, stamp onto the prepared panels, apply gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the heat embossing has cooled, die cut each image with the coordinating dies (die cut an additional piece from cream cardstock to layer behind the image).

Layer the poinsettia with the wreath to leave an opening for the sentiment.

Repeat the above steps with the verse sentiment from the Christmas Peace stamp set, trimming the panel to fit behind the layered poinsettia wreath. Adhere behind the poinsettia and wreath image.

Mount the poinsettia wreath image to the card front using dimensional foam.

Add a few champagne pearls to the floral center to finish off the card.

As many of you who follow my blog know that I enjoy participating with online challenges and will be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #573-#574 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

Today is also the final day of the 2022 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and I decided to create a Clean and Layered/ Mixed Media Christmas card.

If you have not already had a chance to do so, I hope you visit the Stamp Simply blog to see all the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the SS Design Team as well as the above challenge sites- gorgeous projects from all!

To create this card:

Trim a piece of the green plaid paper from the Craft Consortium Tartan Plaid 6x6 Paper to approx. 1 ½” x 4”.

Layer a piece of black cardstock behind the plaid paper and add the lace die cut (die cut from white cardstock with the Tim Holtz Crochet Die).

Emboss a piece of white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Texture Fades A2 Embossing Folder - Lace, trim to approx. 4” x 3 ½”.  Mount onto the top half of a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" black cardstock.

On another piece of white cardstock, de-static the lower portion of the panel with an embossing powder tool, stamp the sentiment from the Seasonal Wreath, Fall/Winter stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Adhere the sentiment panel onto the black cardstock panel.

Mount the layered plaid lace panel to cover the cut edges of the embossed panels.

Adhere the entire panel onto a white card base.

Ink the cup images from Have A Cup On Us Bundle with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut with the coordinating dies from the Have A Cup On Us Bundle and place the die cut cup images back inside the openings on the panel.

Ink the poinsettia image from the Seasonal Wreath,Fall/Winter with Versafine Onyx Black ink and stamp onto one of the die cut cup images.

Repeat the process for the other cup and heat set the ink with a heat tool.

Color the poinsettia images with water-based markers.  Add shimmer with a clear glitter marker and white highlights with a white gel pen.

Die cut two additional dies from each coffee cup images and layer behind the stamped images (this helps give the images a bit more stability).

Layer the die cut coffee cup images onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Finish off the card with red rhinestones.
