TCC230 Fall Harvest Quilt Cards

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the #230 Fall Harvest Challenge at The Card Concept!

It’s time for our October challenge!  I love the beautiful fall colors in our photo and was inspired to create a set of “quilt” type Clean and Layered Mixed Media cards.

As I have mentioned in the past, I am trying to use up my massive stash of designer papers and give some of my older stamps some “love” as well.

I pulled out some of my older Autumn designer papers from Stampin’ Up! and paired them with verse sentiments from Divinity Designs, LLC for these cards.

I also like to participate in other online challenge blogs and will be linking this card to the Love Those Pretty Papers October 2026 Challenge.

We hope you will take a moment to stop by our challenge blog and check out how the rest of our fabulous Design Team were inspired as well- such beautiful cards from all!

To create these cards:

I used the Splitcoaststampers tutorial for the Stack and Cut Quilt  technique to create this set of cards.

Stack up four to five pieces of designer paper (each piece 3 ¾” x 5”) and cut them on various diagonals or into squares.

Once the pieces are cut, stack the pieces on black cardstock, alternating each piece (you will have four to five cards when finished).

Using a embossing folder, emboss each panel for the “quilted” look.

Layer another piece of coordinating cardstock to cover the center area and wrap a piece of ribbon over the center panel (wrapping the ends behind the card front).

Mount the layered panel onto a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” cardstock, then mount onto a piece of 4 ¼” x 5 ½” black cardstock before mounting onto a white card base.

De-static a piece of ivory cardstock with an embossing powder tool.

Ink the verse sentiment from Scripture Collection 3 (Divinity Designs, LLC) with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut with stitched square die, mount onto coordinating cardstock and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Stamp Sets: Scripture Collection 3 (Divinity Designs, LLC formerly Our Daily Bread Designs)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Black Onyx

Cardstock/Paper: Ivory ,Black, Mustard; retired Stampin’ Up! Autumn designer paper

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder, My Favorite Things Stitched Square Dies, Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, 3/8 “ Black Grosgrain Ribbon (from my stash), ¼” Pacific Point Satin Ribbon

We hope you are inspired to create a card and join us for our #230 Fall Harvest Challenge.  The deadline to join us is Monday, November 9th at noon EDT.

TCC221 Gather Together

Hi Friends!

Today, we are starting our November #221 Give Thanks Challenge at The Card Concept today and I was inspired by the colors, autumn elements and theme from our photo this month to create two cards (see this post for the first card I designed for this challenge).

We hope that you will take a moment to stop by our challenge blog and check out how the rest of our fabulous Design Team was inspired as well!

As I mentioned in my previous post, I have not had a chance to create cards lately, so I decided to pull out some of my older Autumn stamp sets and created two cards at the same time.

For this card I used the Artistic Outpost Seed Packets Background stamp (still available at 70% off at Divinity Designs LLC) and paired it with a sentiment from the retired Painted Harvest stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the Seed Packets Background stamp with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock paper and apply clear embossing powder.

Heat set the powder with a heat tool and once cooled, use an AquaPainter to watercolor the image with distress oxide inks (the colors I used are listed below),

Once you are satisfied with the coloring,“antique” the image with a stencil brush using antique linen and stone ink.

Trim the image close to the edge, mount onto aqua cardstock, trim again and mount onto black cardstock.

Adhere the entire panel onto a white card base.

Add a few pieces of burlap strings under the layered/embossed sentiment (from the Painted Harvest stamp set) to finish off the card.  FYI- I had a few of these strings hanging around, and thought I would use them, lol!

Stamp Sets:  Seed Packets Background (Artistic Outpost), Painted Harvest (retired Stampin’ Up!_

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Black Onyx, Distress Oxide- Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Crushed Olive, Peacock Feathers, Antique Linen, Pumice Stone

Cardstock/Paper: White, Black,  Bermuda Bay (retired Stampin’ Up!),

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., MFT Banners Dies, Stencil Brush, Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

I hope you have had a chance to stop by The Card Concept to see how the rest of the Design Team were inspired as well as check out the other challenge gallery entries- gorgeous inspiration from all!

We hope you are inspired to create a card and join us for our Give Thanks Challenge at The Card Concept!  The deadline to play along is Monday, December 8th at noon EDT.

TCC221 Give Thanks

Hi Friends!

We are starting our November #221 Give Thanks Challenge at The Card Concept today and I was inspired by the colors, autumn elements and theme from our photo this month.

We hope that you will take a moment to stop by our challenge blog and check out how the rest of our fabulous Design Team was inspired as well! Gorgeous inspiration from all!

I have not had a chance to create cards lately, so I pulled out several older Autumn stamp sets and ended up making two cards (see this post for the second card).

For the first card, I used the retired SU! sets, Painted Harvest along with French Foliage and a sentiment from the current Stamp Simply set, Welcome Fall.

If you follow my blog, you know that I enjoy playing along with other online challenges and decided to play along with the Word Art Wednesday #724-#725 Anything Goes Challenge.

To create this card:

Using distress oxides (the colors I used are listed below), ink the solid portion of the flower from Painted Harvest with the rust ink, stamp off onto a piece of scrap paper and then stamp onto a piece of white cardstock.

Repeat the above process with several florals.

Ink the outline portion of the flower from Painted Harvest with the same rust ink, position over the solid layer and stamp onto the floral image to finish off the petals.

Repeat until all the floral petal images are stamped.

Ink the centers from Painted Harvest with espresso ink and stamp the centers.

Create a mask for the floral image and repeat the stamping process for the leaves from Painted Harvest using turquoise ink.

Once you are satisfied with the florals, ink the script, splatter and postmark images from French Foliage with corduroy ink and stamp over the background.

Using a stencil brush, apply antique linen and stone ink to “age” the paper.

Trim the panel in half, distress the edges and mount onto a piece of white cardstock.

Emboss a piece of dark designer paper with a diamond embossing folder, lightly sand with a sanding block, distress the edges and mount onto the lower half of the white cardstock panel.

Mount the entire panel onto a piece of rust cardstock, trimmed to approx. 4 ⅛” x 5⅜”.

Add a piece of white crochet lace along with a piece of grosgrain ribbon over the cut layers (wrapping the ends of the ribbon behind the panel).

Adhere the entire panel onto a white card base.

Ink the sentiment from Welcome Fall using Versafine Onyx Black ink onto a piece of white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut with a stitched circle die, also die cutting two additional circles from rust cardstock.

“Age” the sentiment with the stencil brush and stamp lightly the postmark and script over the sentiment before layering onto the rust circle die cuts.

Add the sentiment to the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Welcome Fall (Stamp Simply); Painted Harvest, French Foliage (retired Stampin’ Up!_

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Black Onyx, Distress Oxide- Rusty Hinge, Ground Espresso, Peacock Feathers, Brushed Corduroy, Antique Linen, Pumice Stone

Cardstock/Paper: White, Really Rust (retired Stampin’ Up!), misc designer paper (dark brown- from my stash, not sure of manufacturer)

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr.,  Diamond Embossing Folder (retired Darice), Stencil Brush, Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, White Crochet Lace (Hobby Lobby), Bermuda Bay Dotted Grosgrain Ribbon(used the opposite side- retired SU!)

I hope you have had a chance to stop by The Card Concept to see how the rest of the Design Team were inspired as well as check out the other challenge gallery entries! Beautiful entries by all!

We hope you are inspired to create a card and join us for our Give Thanks Challenge at The Card Concept!  The deadline to play along is Monday, December 8th at noon EDT.

Mount the panel onto a 4⅛” x 5⅜” piece of black cardstock.

Die cut the tag from a piece of white cardstock and emboss with the 3D Intertwine embossing folder.

Add the sage green twill ribbon with the baker’s twine bow at the top of the tag.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the wreath image with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.
