Traveler Locomotive with a Color and Sketch Challenge :-)

Hi Again Stampers!!

I am trying to catch up my postings for my blog and will be sharing several cards throughout the day that I have created for the Splitcoaststampers' Dare To Get Dirty Challenges as well as a few for some of my favorite online challenges.

This card was created for The Paper Players Claire's PP257 Color Challenge using the RetroSketches RS176 Challenge (love both of these weekly challenge sites!) :-)

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above sites to check out the wonderful Design Team samples as well as their challenge galleries!

This card was fairly easy to create but took a bit of time with the layering.

Stamp the locomotive image from Stampin' Up! Traveler using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, watercolor with an AquaPainter™ along with Bermuda Bay and Old Olive Classic Ink, add color to the train using the Stampin' Write Crumb Cake marker, die cut the image and mount onto cardstock layers, emboss a few pieces of cardstock with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Folder, create some banners with the Banner Punch and layer onto Basic Black banners (also created with the banner punch), add the sentiment using the Hexagon Punch for the banner points and finish by layering all to the card front.

Stamp Sets: Traveler, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive; Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker

Paper: Very Vanilla, Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Old Olive; Typeset Designer Series Paper

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Square Collection Framelits™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, AquaPainter™, Punches- Banner (for banners), Hexagon (for sentiment banner), Envelope Punch Board (for corner rounder);  Natural Linen Thread, Pearls, retired Antique Copper Hodgepodge Hardware Clip (still have a bunch of this in stock-lol!)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- I hope all of you enjoy the rest of the week!

Enjoy the Journey- Another Experiment with Ink

Hi Stampers!!

This is the second card I created with the CC485 Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge along and experiment using the Gelli Arts® Gel Printing Plate with Classic Ink (versus acrylic paint).

Again, I hope that you have a chance to the CC485 Color Challenge Gallery to check out all of the variety of designs and ideas!

To create this card:

Emboss a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock using the Big Shot™ along with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.  Trim and mount onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, trim again and mount onto a piece of Hello Honey cardstock and trim one more time to mount onto the Night of Navy card base.

Use a brayer to apply Hello Honey Classic Ink onto part of the Gelli Arts® Printing Plate, clean off the brayer and apply Night of Navy Classic Ink the clean part of the plate overlapping a bit of the Hello Honey ink in areas.

I used an empty spindle from my husband’s grass trimmer along with a few die cut window sheets for stencils, etc. to press into the ink on the plate.

Apply a piece of Whisper White cardstock to the plate and lift off the initial print and repeat for the “ghost” print.

Ink the World Map background stamp using Night of Navy Classic Ink and stamp over the print from the Gelli Arts® Printing Plate, trim and adhere to a piece of Night of Navy cardstock.  Trim and mount onto a piece of Hello Honey cardstock, trim and mount again onto Night of Navy cardstock.

Add the 3/8” Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon along with the retired Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware buckle to the corner and adhere to the Sahara Sand embossed background panel.

Lay a piece of Hello Honey cardstock onto the map stamp (without re-inking), rounding the corners with the Envelope Punch Board.  Mount onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, rounding the corners with the Envelope Punch Board.

Ink the train image from Traveler using Night of Navy Classic Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  Color part of the train using the Hello Honey Stampin’ Write marker and use the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker to add shadows to the train image.   “Fussy-cut” the image, use a Sponge Dauber with Night of Navy Classic Ink along the edges and mount using Stampin’ Dimensionals® onto the Hello Honey map image.

Create the striped banner using the Moonlight Designer Series Paper (DSP) using the Banner Punch, mount onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock (creating the banner points using the Banner Punch) and create the sentiment banner using the stamp set, Pedaling Past stamped onto Whisper White cardstock (I used a previously printed image from My Digital Studio) with the banner points and mounting onto Night of Navy cardstock in the same manner as the striped banner.

Add the banners and the train image to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card

Stamp Sets: Traveler, World Map, Pedaling Past
