ColourQ CQC92 Challenge- Two Cards, Same Colors

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a card for this week’s CQC92 ColourQ Challenge and ended up creating two!

I am sure many of you have been in the same position- you start to create one card and then it does not seem to go in the direction that you originally planned, so you start on another.

I started off stamping the card with the oval center and decided to set it aside and create the Medallion card using one of my all-time favorite background stamps :-)  If you have the time, check out all of the other wonderful cards and projects that the Design Team created along with all of the other entries- so much variety, it is amazing!

This card was easy to create- stamp the Medallion Background stamp using Sponge Daubers ("pounce" the ink onto the stamp), a bit of embossing with the Big Shot, stamp the background stamp over the Medallion, spray the card with Frost White Shimmer Paint, punch out/layer the sentiment and add the luscious 5/8" Black Satin Ribbon!

Once the Medallion card was finished, I picked up the oval again and was determined to complete the card I originally started and used the Stamping 411 SSC211 sketch for inspiration (turned the sketch on it’s side and modified the position of the bow).  I love their weekly sketches and their Design Team works so hard each week and they create such amazing cards and projects- if you have time to check them out, you will be so impressed!

Use the Big Shot with the Ovals Die to cut out the ovals and color the floral stamp from Charming with SU! Markers in Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi and Tangerine Tango.

Layer the Tempting Turquoise and Wild Wasabi, stamp the sentiment and background stamp, layer onto Basic Black and again onto the Tangerine Tango DSP.  Add the ribbon and bow to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:   Medallion, Charming, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Short & Sweet

Ink:  Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango (Brights Designer Series Pack)

Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice and Finial Press EF, Word Window and Modern Label Punch, Ovals Die, Sponge Daubers, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Pearls, Frost White Shimmer Paint Spray, Distressing Tool, SU! Markers- Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise

I hope you like both of the cards and if you have a moment to comment- let me know which one is your favorite of the two:-)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by-have a blessed Sunday!

Hi, Julie - Love them both but if I had to pick one it would be the oval (primarily because of the image). Great job!

Lovely cards, Julie! The Medallion one is very bold & striking, but I do love the Charming one---you have more patience than I do to ink up all those flowers, but what a lovely effect when you do! Thanks for playing with the CQC this week!
