Dave and I had a chance to slip away to Shenandoah National Park
yesterday and the weather was fabulous!
We saw four bears and an Olive-Sided Flycatcher (I know, unless you
enjoy bird watching, you may not understand but this flycatcher is fairly rare in
this area, so we determined that it must have been migrating). Also, this was the first time we have ever seen this bird so it is considered a “life bird” for us :-). All
in all, a glorious day!
Today
I am sharing my card for the Splitcoaststampers’ SC607 Sketch Challenge (I
decided to flip the sketch) and I am highlighting the Our Daily Bread Designs(ODBD) Mid-August 2016 Release in the design :-)
In
addition to the SC607 Sketch, I also am linking to the Word Art Wednesday #244-#245 “Anything Goes” Challenge.
If
you have not already visited the above challenge sites, I hope you will have a
chance to do so- fabulous inspiration from my DT Sisters at the SCS607 Sketch Gallery as well as the wonderful Word Art Wednesday challenge site!
To
create this card:
Ink
the ODBD Rope Background stamp with walnut distress ink and stamp onto a piece
of taupe cardstock.
Die
cut the stamped background panel with the ODBD Flourished Star Patterns Die, mount
onto a piece of aqua cardstock, trim close to the edge, mount onto the dark
brown card front and mount onto the white card base.
Die
cut two pieces of the ODBD By The Shore Collection 6x6 Paper with the ODBD Rectangles Dies (one with the Jesus fish print and the other with the chevron
pattern).
Mount
the die cut Jesus fish print panel onto a die cut piece of aqua cardstock (die
cut with the ODBD Double Stitched Rectangles Dies) and adhere to a piece of
dark brown cardstock.
Mount
the die cut chevron print onto a piece of aqua cardstock, trim close to the
edge and mount onto the dark brown cardstock.
Stamp
the sentiment from the ODBD You Anchor Me (Stamp/Die Duo- Clear Stamp Set)
using black archival ink and stamp onto white cardstock, die cut with the ODBD Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, mount onto aqua cardstock, trim close to the
edge, mount onto dark brown cardstock and adhere the sentiment behind the chevron print panel.
Layer
the fish print panel per the sketch and add the chevron print panel.
Die
cut a piece of dark brown cardstock with the ODBD Lavish Layers Die, layer onto
a piece of white cardstock, adhere loops of kraft seam binding, add the dark
brown brads and mount onto the card front.
Die
cut the ODBD Anchor Die (part of the You Anchor Me Stamp/Die Duo- Clear Stamps)
from champagne metallic paper, lightly sand with a sanding block, add the burlap ribbon threads and mount onto
the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.
I
hope this card inspires you to create a project this week, and if so, come play
along with us at Splitcoaststampers!
Thanks
again for visiting- hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!

This is really great. Love the papers and your lay-out. I really love how you made that anchor pop with paint. Thank you for blessing us with your creation at Word Art Wednesday. Leaving you with the Word of God in 1 Peter 1:13 which tells us, "Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming." Blessings always.
