Merry Christmas, Sweet Friends! Today
we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
In celebration of Christmas, I am sharing another Mixed Media Christmas card that I designed using the December 2016 Artistic Outpost (AO) release stamp sets, Christmastime and Gloria (both available at Our Daily Bread Designs).
I am linking this
card to the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light ODBDSLC281 “Let’s BeSentimental” Challenge as well as the Deep Ocean #144 Silent Night Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #262-#263 "Anything Goes" Challenge.
If you have not had a
chance to visit The Artistic Outpost Blog or the other challenge sites yet,
I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!
1). Ink the AO Christmastime stamp with an embossing ink, stamp onto white cardstock and
emboss with white embossing powder.
2). Using a water brush,
apply a variety of brown inks (I used brushed corduroy, vintage photo and
walnut stain) to cover the white cardstock, gently wipe the ink away from the
embossed areas.
3). Trim the embossed
panel, mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim again, mount onto a piece of
suede cardstock, trim once more and mount onto the white card base.
4). Ink the angel
image and sentiment from AO Gloria with archival black ink, stamp onto white
cardstock and heat set with the heat tool.
4). Using a water brush,
apply the same variety of brown inks as above to the images and dry with the
heat tool.
5). Fussy-cut the
angels as well as the sentiment, mount all onto black cardstock, fussy-cutting
along the edges.
6). Mount the angels
and sentiment to the card front with dimensional foam and add shimmer with a
clear glitter pen to the angel wings and ornaments.
7). Finish off the
card with a few pearls in the corners.
Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs to all of you and I hope you have a very blessed Christmas!
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16 NKJV
Jesus is the Perfect Son of God who came to earth born of a virgin to die on the cross for your sins and mine- what a wonderful free gift of salvation we have when we truly believe in Christ as our Savior! I pray that you have accepted His free gift this Christmas season.
