Pink Christmas with Christmastime and Gloria!

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas!  I am still celebrating Christmas this week by sharing a few cards that I designed for Christmas using the December 2016 ArtisticOutpost (AO) release stamp sets, Christmastime and Gloria (both available at Our Daily Bread Designs).

If you have not had a chance to visit The Artistic Outpost Blog or the challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the AO Christmastime stamp with an embossing ink, stamp onto white cardstock and emboss with white embossing powder.

2). Using a water brush, apply a variety of pink and raspberry distress inks (I used spun sugar, victorian velvet, picked raspberry) to cover the white cardstock, gently wipe the ink away from the embossed areas.

3). Once the watercolor dries, apply additional ink with a sponge dauber to darken some of the areas around the ornaments.

4). Trim the panel, mount onto a piece of raspberry cardstock die cut and embossed with the ODBD Snowflake Sky Die and adhere to the white card base.

5). Add a bit of looped metallic silver thread to the area where you are placing the sentiment (I use hot glue to adhere).

6). Ink the sentiment from AO Gloria stamp set with embossing powder, stamp onto a piece of raspberry cardstock and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

7). Create the flag banner on the sentiment by cutting the “V” by hand, distress with your fingers a bit and mount onto the card front along with dimensional foam.

8). Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the ornaments and add a few rhinestones to finish off the card.

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs to all of you and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas! Gloria in Excelsis Deo

Merry Christmas, Sweet Friends! Today we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

In celebration of Christmas, I am sharing another Mixed Media Christmas card that I designed using the December 2016 Artistic Outpost (AO) release stamp sets, Christmastime and Gloria (both available at Our Daily Bread Designs).

If you have not had a chance to visit The Artistic Outpost Blog or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the AO Christmastime stamp with an embossing ink, stamp onto white cardstock and emboss with white embossing powder.

2). Using a water brush, apply a variety of brown inks (I used brushed corduroy, vintage photo and walnut stain) to cover the white cardstock, gently wipe the ink away from the embossed areas.

3). Trim the embossed panel, mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim again, mount onto a piece of suede cardstock, trim once more and mount onto the white card base.

4). Ink the angel image and sentiment from AO Gloria with archival black ink, stamp onto white cardstock and heat set with the heat tool.

4). Using a water brush, apply the same variety of brown inks as above to the images and dry with the heat tool.

5). Fussy-cut the angels as well as the sentiment, mount all onto black cardstock, fussy-cutting along the edges.

6). Mount the angels and sentiment to the card front with dimensional foam and add shimmer with a clear glitter pen to the angel wings and ornaments.

7). Finish off the card with a few pearls in the corners.

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs to all of you and I hope you have a very blessed Christmas!

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”  John 3:16 NKJV

Jesus is the Perfect Son of God who came to earth born of a virgin to die on the cross for your sins and mine- what a wonderful free gift of salvation we have when we truly believe in Christ as our Savior!  I pray that you have accepted His free gift this Christmas season.

Peace on Earth

Hi Friends!

I had a chance to create a quick Mixed Media card using Artistic Outpost (AO)  stamp sets, Christmastime and Gloria along with ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies (all available at Our DailyBread Designs) and decided to incorporate the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #97 Kath's Colour Challenge into the design.

I love the elegance of this color combination and decided to create a two tone embossed card with silver and gold.

I am also linking this card to the Inkspirational #124 Neutrals Only Challenge (hopefully gold and silver are considered neutral) as well as the CAS-ual Fridays #163 Christmas & Hanukkah Challenge :-)

If you have not had a chance to visit The Artistic Outpost Blog or the linked challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from my Design Team sisters on the AO Blog as well as the challenge galleries!

To create this card:

1). De-static two pieces of white cardstock with an embossing static tool, ink the AO Christmastime stamp and AO Gloria angel with embossing ink and stamp onto the prepared cardstock.

2). Apply gold embossing powder over the scroll area and ornaments as well as the body of the angel image, tap off the gold powder onto a piece of scrap paper (to funnel back into your container of embossing powder) and immediately apply silver embossing powder to all of the remaining areas before heating and embossing with the heat tool.

3). Trim the AO Christmastime embossed image and mount onto a piece of espresso cardstock (I die cut and embossed the espresso cardstock with the largest die from the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies).

4). Mount the panel onto the white card base and add the looped silver metallic thread.

5). Fussy-cut the AO Gloria angel image, mount onto a piece of espresso cardstock and fussy-cut again, close to the embossing (this gives the angel more stability to be mounted onto the card front).

6). De-static a piece of espresso cardstock, ink the sentiment from AO Gloria with embossing ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

7). Trim the AO Gloria sentiment and add the fish tail banner by hand.

8). Mount the AO Gloria sentiment and fussy-cut AO Gloria angel to the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Quick and easy and perfect for mailing or hand-delivery:-)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs to all of you and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas week!

SC622 Peace on Earth

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far!  It’s time for the new Splitcoaststampers’ SC622Sketch Challenge and I just love the sketch that Cathy designed for us this week!

I decided to create a Mixed Media Christmas card using the brand new Artistic Outpost stamp set, Gloria and also incorporated the Mixed Media Card Challenge#30 Gold and The Paper Players PP324 “Snowflakes” Theme Challenge into the design.

If you have not already visited the above challenge sites yet, I hope you will have a chance to do so- fabulous inspiration from my DT Sisters at the SCS Sketch Gallery as well as the other challenge sites!

To create this card:

Using the ATC Collage stamp from the AO Gloria stamp set, ink with festive berries distress ink and stamp repeatedly onto a piece of red cardstock.

Trim the stamped  panel, add  with a piece of snowflake patterned paper from the ODBD Snowflake Season Collection 6x6 Paper Pad onto a piece of red cardstock.

Using a stencil brush with vintage photo distress ink, apply a light layer of ink over the white cardstock edges as well as on the ODBD Snowflake Season patterned paper to “antique” the paper.

De-static the background  with an embossing static tool, ink the scroll border stamp from the AO Gloria stamp set with embossing powder and stamp along the edges, apply gold embossing powder and heat emboss.

Once the embossing powder has cooled, add the 3/8” red taffeta ribbon to cover the seam and mount onto the white card base.

Ink the angel collage image from the AO Gloria stamp set with festive berry distress ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply vintage photo distress ink with a stencil brush and mount onto another layer of red cardstock, trim and mount onto white cardstock, trim and mount onto gold foil cardstock.

Add the stamped angel panel to the card front with dimensional foam and add the triple ribbon bow.

Die cut and emboss the snowflakes from gold foil cardstock using the ODBD Snow Crystals Dies, add to the card front (I used hot glue to adhere) and add pearls to the centers.

Stamp the sentiment from the AO Gloria stamp set with archival black ink onto white cardstock, apply vintage photo distress ink, trim and mount onto red and white cardstock, trim and mount onto the gold foil.

Add the sentiment to the card front to finish off the card.

I had fun designing this card and hope I have inspired you to come join us in the SC622 Sketch Challenge!  Hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!

Artistic Outpost New Release- Christmastime and Gloria!

Hi Friends!

This month, Artistic Outpost is releasing the new stamp set, Gloria along with the Christmastime background stamp (all items available from the Our Daily Bread Designs website) and I absolutely love the vintage style of both Gloria and Christmastime- beautiful on their own as well as together!

Since I know that you will want to see the inspiration from all of my Design Team Sisters in the AO Blog Hop, I will share the individual steps taken to create each card in a future blog post.

My first card features the AO Christmastime stamp with gold embossing powder and distressing (this card just shimmers in real life so it was a bit difficult to photograph :-)).

My second card features the beautiful AO Gloria stamp set! I used the images in the AO Gloria stamp set to create my own background paper as well as the focal images and paired it with the Ornate Ovals Dies and Beautiful Borders Dies from Our Daily Bread Designs.

I hope I have inspired you today and that you will have time to visit the rest of the Artistic Outpost Design Team Blogs:
