ODBDSLC282 Reminder- Winter Happy Birthday!

Hi Friends! 

Just a reminder that it is not too late to join in with us for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light ODBDSLC282 Color Challenge! 

Don’t forget- you have until Friday, February 3, 2017 to join us for a chance to be spotlighted for the Shining the Light award or to win a $15 ODBD gift certificate (one random participant will be chosen).  To be spotlighted for the Shining the Light Award, you must use ODBD stamps (or stamps from our sister companies: North Coast Creations or Artistic Outpost). 

I decided to create a Clean and Simple (CAS) card showcasing a sentiment from the January 2017 ODBD Release stamp set, Seeds of Today along with the new ODBD Whimsical Wildflowers Collection 6x6 Paper and ODBD Plum Pizzazz Collection 6x6 Paper as well as a few previously released ODBD Dies.

I love the patterns of the paper in both of the new ODBD Paper Collections as well as the beautiful sayings and font on the sentiments from the ODBD Seeds of Today stamp set!  

I needed a winter birthday card and even though the ODBD Whimsical Wildflower Collection 6x6 Paper Pad is primarily floral, since this pattern was an overall swirled pattern, I thought that it would work with the snowflake, what do you think?

To create this card:

1). Ink the sentiment from the new ODBD Seeds of Today stamp set with blackberry ink, stamp onto white cardstock.  Die cut and emboss with the ODBD Pennant Flag Dies and mount onto a piece of ODBD Plum Pizzazz Collection 6x6 Paper die cut and embossed with the ODBD Double Stitched Pennant Flag Dies.

 2). Trim a piece of ODBD Whimsical Wildflowers Collection 6x6 Paper and mount onto the ODBD Plum Pizzazz Collection 6x6 Paper.  Adhere the panel to a white card base.

3). Die cut and emboss a piece of ODBD Plum Pizzazz Collection 6x6 Paper and two pieces of white cardstock with the ODBD Snow Crystals Dies. Layer the white die cuts with the plum snowflake on top.

4). Die cut and emboss a piece of soft yellow cardstock with the ODBD Pierced Circles Dies, mount the layered sentiment to the side of the circle and add both to the card front with dimensional foam.

5). Mount the die cut snowflake to the circle and add a rhinestone embellishment to the center.

6). Add a few rhinestones on the back panel to finish off the card.

SC622 Peace on Earth

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far!  It’s time for the new Splitcoaststampers’ SC622Sketch Challenge and I just love the sketch that Cathy designed for us this week!

I decided to create a Mixed Media Christmas card using the brand new Artistic Outpost stamp set, Gloria and also incorporated the Mixed Media Card Challenge#30 Gold and The Paper Players PP324 “Snowflakes” Theme Challenge into the design.

If you have not already visited the above challenge sites yet, I hope you will have a chance to do so- fabulous inspiration from my DT Sisters at the SCS Sketch Gallery as well as the other challenge sites!

To create this card:

Using the ATC Collage stamp from the AO Gloria stamp set, ink with festive berries distress ink and stamp repeatedly onto a piece of red cardstock.

Trim the stamped  panel, add  with a piece of snowflake patterned paper from the ODBD Snowflake Season Collection 6x6 Paper Pad onto a piece of red cardstock.

Using a stencil brush with vintage photo distress ink, apply a light layer of ink over the white cardstock edges as well as on the ODBD Snowflake Season patterned paper to “antique” the paper.

De-static the background  with an embossing static tool, ink the scroll border stamp from the AO Gloria stamp set with embossing powder and stamp along the edges, apply gold embossing powder and heat emboss.

Once the embossing powder has cooled, add the 3/8” red taffeta ribbon to cover the seam and mount onto the white card base.

Ink the angel collage image from the AO Gloria stamp set with festive berry distress ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply vintage photo distress ink with a stencil brush and mount onto another layer of red cardstock, trim and mount onto white cardstock, trim and mount onto gold foil cardstock.

Add the stamped angel panel to the card front with dimensional foam and add the triple ribbon bow.

Die cut and emboss the snowflakes from gold foil cardstock using the ODBD Snow Crystals Dies, add to the card front (I used hot glue to adhere) and add pearls to the centers.

Stamp the sentiment from the AO Gloria stamp set with archival black ink onto white cardstock, apply vintage photo distress ink, trim and mount onto red and white cardstock, trim and mount onto the gold foil.

Add the sentiment to the card front to finish off the card.

May Your Days Be Merry & Bright

Hi Friends! 

I am still working on Christmas cards and decided create quick, fairly easy Christmas card using the Our Daily Bread Designs November 2016 Release stamp set, Merry& Bright Clear Stamp Set along with the ODBD Snowflake Sky Dies and ODBD Snow Crystals Dies and previously released ODBD Filigree Frames Dies.

I am linking this card to the Simon Says Monday “Trio Tastic” Challenge as well as the Weekly Christmas Card #49 Challenge (optional color challenge that I did not participate in this time) and the Paper Players Clean and Simple PP322 Christmas Challenge. 

To create this card:

Die cut the ODBD Snowflake Sky Die from white and light pink cardstock, layer the white background over the pink card base and add the die cut pink snowflake panel onto the die cut white panel using dimensional foam.

Die cut three of the snowflakes using the ODBD Snow Crystals Dies from white cardstock  and layer onto the card front.

Ink the sentiment from ODBD Merry & Bright Clear Stamp Set with archival black ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, heat set, die cut and emboss with the ODBD Filigree Frames Dies.

Add a bit of silver metallic thread to the corners of the sentiment before mounting onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Finish off the card by adding rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes and applying shimmer to the white snowflakes with a clear glitter pen.

Quick and easy!  I had fun designing this card and hope I have inspired you to create something this week- Christmas is just around the corner!!

Merry & Bright Center Step Shaker Card

Hi Friends! 

I had a chance to create another Christmas card using the new ODBD November 2016 Release Merry & Bright Clear Stamp Set along with the new ODBD Snowflake Season Collection 6x6 Paper Pad, coordinating ODBD Christmas Lights Dies,  ODBD Snow Crystal Dies, ODBD Snowflake Sky Die along with previously released ODBD Dies.

I incorporated a few of my favorite online challenges- the Merry Monday #222 “Gray, White and Red” Challenge as well as the Just Add Ink #337 “Choose Just Two- Doily, Die Cuts, DSP (I used die cuts and dsp) and the Splitcoaststampers’ Free For All F4A351 “Shake Things Up!” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the challenge sites yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the sentiment from the ODBD Merry & Bright Clear Stamp Set with gray ink and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, die cut and emboss with the ODBD Pierced Ovals Dies.

Measure and cut pieces of the designer paper from the ODBD Snowflake Season Collection 6x6 Paper Pad to cover the sides and bottom of the white ODBD Center Step Fancy Fold card base.

Cut the large panel for the center from the same pattern of the ODBD Snowflake Season Collection 6x6 Paper Pad with the large frame from the ODBD Snowflake Sky Die and set aside (this is the backing for the shaker card element).

Ink the string of lights images from the ODBD Merry & Bright Clear Stamp Set with archival black ink, stamp onto white cardstock, die cut with the coordinating ODBD Christmas Lights Dies, color the light bulbs with water based markers- red for the lights  and light gray for the string and use a white fine point paint pen to add the white highlight to each bulb.

Die cut and emboss the following:

1). A rectangular frame from white cardstock using the ODBD Double Stitched Rectangle Dies.

2). Three snowflakes from white cardstock using the ODBD Snow Crystals Dies.

3). Two detailed ornaments from silver foil cardstock and two shaped ornaments from red cardstock with the ODBD Elegant Embellishments Dies.

First add a piece of clear acetate to the die cut white frame (I re-purposed the clear packaging from the ODBD stamp sets  by splitting and cutting the clear envelope to use for the acetate ), then adhere one layer of dimensional foam behind the white die cut frame and add the die cut/stamped Christmas lights before adding the second layer of dimensional foam.

Pour sequins into the frame and adhere the die cut backing (from the step above from the ODBD Snowflake Season Collection 6x6 Paper Pad).

Mount the entire panel into the center portion of the ODBD Center Step Fancy Fold card base.

Adhere the die cut Christmas ornaments and add the silver cord to the top, wrapping behind the back of the panel.

Mount the sentiment to the card front and add the die cut snowflakes.  

To finish off the card, apply shimmer to the snowflakes with a clear glitter pen and add the rhinestones to the snowflake centers.
