Hi Stampers!!
Woohoo! I am super excited to be the Guest Designer for the
Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #53 Color Challenge!
One of the perks of
playing along with the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog is that if you are chosen as
the challenge favorite, you have the opportunity to guest design for one of
their future challenges!
One of the rules of The Retro Rubber Challenge Blog is that you need to use stamps that are over a year
old so I pulled out two retired Stampin’ Up! stamp sets- Winter Memories for the sled image
and Christmas Blessings for the sentiment (both are several years old).
I am also linking
this card to the Simon Wednesday “Anything Goes” Challenge- wonderful inspiration from all!
To create this card:
Use the Big Shot™
with the retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss
a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler,
then again onto Garden Green cardstock.
Add the white crochet
lace and ½” Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon, wrapping the ends around the
panel.
Mount the entire
panel onto the Whisper White card base.
Ink the retired sled
image from Winter Memories using Stampin’ Archival™ Basic Black Ink, stamp onto
a piece of Whisper White cardstock and water color with Stampin’ Write Markers-
Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Tip Top Taupe, Soft Suede and Pool Party using an
AquaPainter™.
Use the Heat Tool to
dry the watercolor panel, add white highlights with an extra fine white paint
pen ad die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die.
Mount the watercolor
panel onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock, trim and mount onto Garden Green cardstock
and add to the card front with dimensional foam.
Finish off the card
with the ½” Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding bow, sentiment and pearls.

Hello Julie: I'm so happy you are our Guest Designer for this RETRO RUBBER challenge and even happier after I saw your card. What a beauty it is!!! created with on of my old time favorite stamp sets from SU.
Love all the texture of the embossed panel and the rich colors you used to bring to life this awesome Winter image. You might not believe it but I have a spool of the very same lace you used to adorn your card, how cool is that?
Thank you so much for being our Guest Designer this time around, it's fabulous to see your projects in our gallery.
Big Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.
Beautiful water coloring - love the ribbon and lace. I think I am ready for the holidays now@
Julie, so good to have us with you as GD this time at Retro Rubber. I feel left out with all these stunning bows from you and the girls - can you teach me? Your card is gorgeous, so detailed and elegant. Hope to see you in the gallery next year. Claire DT
The only that I love more than seeing one of your creations in our gallery is seeing you in the RRCB Design Team line-up! Your card is gorgeous! We have similar taste in sentiments, did you notice? LOL Your watercoloring is spectacular and all of the details just made your card over the top. Thank you for joining us as Guest Designer for Retro Rubber and hope you will join us again soon.
Hi Julie! Thank you so much for being our guest designer! Truly a stunning piece of work that I am so glad we get to show off! The brightness and depth of colors are really beautiful and then you throw in that sweet lace and other textures! Plus - your bow is spectacular! Someday, when I grown up, I will be able to do a bow that well! Thank you again!! jane
This is gorgeous! I have this set and sadly, haven't used it that much...you've inspired me to get it out and give it some love! Congrats on your GD gig with the Retrorubber team...they are a sweet team to work with!
Julie, I am a bit late on commenting on your stunning card as our guest designer for Retro Rubber. But there is an upside to that.... I went by other more recent posts to get to this one and each is a beauty!!
I still have both of these SU stamp sets and have no intention of selling either of them. Perfect for the Christmas stash! Love your balance of the inspiration colors! My favorite detail is the layering of banners beneath the sentiment... so pretty. And as previously mentioned, the bow is spectacular. Thanks so much for playing along with Retro Rubber as both a participant and as GD. We love having your incredible talent to share!! Now to pin.... :)
Wowow! Stunning! Wish I had that stamp it is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent with us! I could stare at your card all day!❤️
